I called Tom Geise Plumbing on Friday and they came the same day and fixed the problem of back up sewer pipes in a house we had recently moved into. Fast service and professional. I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of a plumber!

I am beyond pleased with this company. I had three different plumbing services in my house in the past couple months to look at my drain. The first one said I would need to break into my slab foundation to fix the pipe. Second, never gave me a quote after taking pictures. Then, I called these absolute saints! They came out with different heads and worked at it for hours! They did it. They got it unclogged and even gave me advice about another plumbing issue I was having. They even offered to clean the floor when they were done working, which I was not going to make them do. They are, also, super prepared compared to other services I have interacted with in the past. Highly recommend this company. I will be using them from here on out.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about these guys. After almost 3 weeks of trying to find someone to fix our plumbing issues, we finally were referred to them yesterday. Very friendly! Called yesterday and they were here this morning ready to work! Basically had to replace all the plumbing in the house we just moved into, but I'm SO grateful to finally have water again! Highly recommended and if we ever have any other issues, they're our first call.

I'm retired and on SSI. Struck with a water leak between the floor and the kitchen sink cabnet. Made several calls for repair, and everyone was booked and said they couldn't help. I called Keck and was expecting the same answer. But much to my suprise. I was told he was busy, but would squeeze me right in. With in 2 hours they were here to fix my water leak. And they even threw in the replacement to my fridge line. Which I asked if he could come back for. Its rare to find a plumber who is booked up to come right over to help, andvdo such a thorough job. So would I highly recommend this company. Your darn right I would, and they will be the first call I make for any repairs I need.

I highly recommend Keck Plumbing in Quincy. Dave is quick to reply and quick to fix whatever problem we have. Even when I try to fix something first, he's patient and fixes my attempt with a smile and good humor. Not only is he the best in the Quincy area, he is kind, honest, and genuine. He even diagnosed a problem with the city hook up to the house and fixed a two year old problem caused by road construction. Keck Plumbing is the best in the business.

Professional Drain Cleaning in Quincy, Illinois

In the historic 'Gem City,' maintaining a home means dealing with the unique plumbing challenges of Western Illinois. Whether you are living in a classic Victorian near the East End Historic District or a newer build out toward 36th Street, a clogged drain can disrupt your entire day. Our service takes the guesswork out of finding a reliable plumber by doing the heavy lifting for you.

We don't just provide a list of names; we actively filter our network of certified Quincy plumbers based on your exact zip code. Once we identify the best local matches, we personally call them to confirm they can handle your specific drain issue immediately. This ensures you aren't wasting time calling busy shops that can't fit you in, especially when you're dealing with an emergency overflow.

Common Drain Issues in Quincy, Illinois

Historic Pipe Corrosion: Many of Quincy’s beautiful older homes still utilize original cast iron or clay pipes. Over decades, these materials are prone to internal scaling and corrosion, which catches debris and leads to frequent, stubborn clogs.

Mississippi River Soil Shifts: Properties located closer to the riverfront often experience subtle soil movement. This can cause outdoor sewer lines to sag or belly, creating 'low spots' where waste collects and eventually blocks the entire line.

Tree Root Intrusion: The mature oak and maple trees that line Quincy's residential streets have aggressive root systems. These roots frequently penetrate older sewer pipe joints in search of moisture, leading to massive underground blockages that require professional clearing.

Hard Water Scale: Like much of the tri-state area, Quincy's water can lead to mineral buildup. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits narrow the diameter of your pipes, making it much easier for hair and soap scum to cause a backup.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Quincy, Illinois

Spring Rain Prep: As the frost leaves the ground in Adams County, ensure your basement floor drains are clear. Heavy Illinois spring rains can put immense pressure on your drainage system, and a clear path is vital to prevent flooding.

Summer Disposal Care: During BBQ season, avoid putting corn husks or potato peels down your Quincy kitchen disposal. These fibrous materials are leading causes of summer kitchen clogs.

Autumn Leaf Clearing: Keep your outdoor area drains and gutter downspouts clear of fallen leaves. In Quincy's wooded neighborhoods, debris can quickly wash into drains during fall storms, causing external backups.

Winter Freeze Protection: Before the first deep freeze hits the Mississippi Valley, ensure your outdoor faucets are disconnected and any exposed pipes in crawlspaces are insulated to prevent freezing and subsequent pipe bursts.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Quincy, Illinois

$145-$425

Pricing in Quincy is generally lower than the national average. Basic drain snaking typically starts around $145, while complex main line clearing or hydro-jetting for stubborn roots can range up to $425 or more depending on the equipment needed.
