Expert Drain Cleaning in Oak Lawn, IL

From the time our 8 unit condo building was opened in 2016, until 2023, we had zero problems with plumbing. In late January 2023, after we had just gotten home from a trip to Tupelo, our main floor (we have a “duplex down”) kitchen sink water began rising on its own from drain water from upper floor units. My wife and I were like an old-time bucket brigade, running gallons from the sink to the powder room toilet to keep the water from cascading over our cabinets and onto the floor. We had a plumber come out and run a rod from under our kitchen sink into the main drain pipe, which started a drain flow of water again. This problem unfortunately returned in October 2023 (when we were just about to leave for vacation), as well as July and September 2024, July 2025 and most recently on November 3rd. Despite previously using two different large plumbing companies, none of them could locate where our building’s main 4” drain pipe was located (using metal detectors and cameras). So effectively each time they rodded from our kitchen, they were punching a small hole into the grease blockage, with the hole slowly closing back up. So we hired Suburban Chicago Plumbing Experts this time. They not only identified the problem, but also identified where our main drain pipes were located, and then went on to create new external clean-out pipes for our building so that now any future blockages can be gotten to easily. Suburban spent three hours using unique hydrojetting equipment which has a truck-based water heater furnace to melt away all of the grease which was clogging our line. And unlike most other plumbing companies, they also have their own vacuum truck, and sucked all the grease out of our front yard’s underground catch basin. I can’t recommend enough their expertise, their specialized equipment, and their attractive pricing. A terrific combination and value.

We had a major plumbing issue in the basement of one of the properties we managed. There was a backed up sewage line and left easily a foot of waste on the floor that needed to be disposed of and sanitized. One plumber told us we had to find someone to clean it up (which was odd to me because that seems like a hazard of the job) and then we called a second plumber and he could not get past a few feet with his scope. Mike and his team was able to clear the line all the way to the street and cleaned and sanitized it in a few hours. It has held great for a few months but we need a more permanent solution that the landlord cannot afford at this time but we will be using Mike and his team to help us when the time comes.

Mike, Maro, and Alex are AMAZING!!I can't praise these guys enough! Great customer service ad great work for a reasonable price. New catch basin, new sump pump, fixed existing wall whole and re-hung outside post to the way it should have been originally! As a bonus, they empty a big waste can of my stuff! Dwayne answered my frantic phone call at 11:00pm. Drain backed up in my 1st floor condo laundry room. Awful! He & his son were on a job downtown in Chicago. They arrived at 11:40pm & worked til about 1:30am to fix the problem. It was a pretty complicated task but they fixed the problem. we had a broken pipe under our house in chicago and needed help fast. chicago drain masters plumbing 24/7 sent someone out within an hour to check things out. thomas showed up and had to crawl under the house to reach a tricky drainage pipe. he quickly figured out the problem and fixed it in just a few hours. there was a big puddle of water under there, and he made sure to drain it all out for us. we were really happy with how everything was handled, and the price was much less than we expected. we’ll definitely call again for any plumbing problems.

Update: Jay's response to this claims the phones were down and they are contacting me which is a lie. No one has reached out to me or stopped by the house they trashed. They are just saying this to try to look better to make it look like they care...they do not. And if the phones were not working then how was I able to speak to someone each time I called and each time I was told Ashley was in a meeting and would send you a message. Was the internet or cellular service down too? We called Jay's Plumbing for a clogged drain next to a toilet. The adjacent tubs had sewage water mixed with drain cleaner backed up. The shower had 3" of standing sewage water. George, who arrived in a 24/7 Plumbing truck, which by the way shares the same license as Jay's, formally located off Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove, said he would have to pull the toilet to get a camera in the line. George was informed there was a significant amount of drain cleaner in the drains and tubs in our attempts to fix the problem. At no time did George caution us on any potential problems as a result of pulling the toilet. 10 minutes later, he pulls the toilet and does not siphon the sewage water out of the adjacent backed up toilet and tubs and floods our bathroom and downstairs. I immediately called Jay's and asked for a supervisor to go to the house. I was told, "everyone is in a meeting." We spoke to a "supervisor" later on George's phone who said no one was available to come out and someone would call us. George reset the toilet and left saying, "I'll let my office deal with this." He had to use our own bath towels to clean up his mess but left when our ceiling was still leaking and we were left to clean it up ourselves. Our property sustained significant damage. We lost personal property damaged from the sewer water mixed with drain cleaner and have a damaged ceiling. We have called eight times asking for Ashley (Ellis), the "supervisor" to call us back and have repeatedly asked for the insurance information. All of our calls have been ignored. This occurred over two weeks ago and we have still received nothing from Jay's and/or 24/7 Plumbing. After this incident, we spoke to someone else who used Jay's and learned the same pattern of company response to a problem.

Had some preventive work on my main sewer line done. Jays is a local business I called. The initial call was great and they scheduled the job. Arturo was my tech. He showed up on time, was friendly and was a good plumber. He showed me the before camera shots, rodded the line and showed me the after shots. He made some recommendations on how to maintain. All-in-all a great experience with Jays and Arturo!

We’ve been customers before and have lived in Downers Grove for many years, so this was especially disappointing. We were quoted $79 for a diagnostic inspection, but when the plumber arrived, we were told it would be $240 for a visit that lasted about five minutes. My wife was the only one home at the time, and the sudden price change felt misleading. Honest, upfront pricing matters — and this experience did not reflect that.

We had some big roots clogging our drains. Elias and his team came in, introduced themselves and explained exactly what they were going to look for and the process. They got right to it and were finished quickly. They showed me a camera view of before and then after, explaining what was happening the whole way through. I highly recommend them!! We had interacted with multiple plumbing & HVAC companies, and J Sewer & Drain Plumbing is the BEST, most professional, transparent, sincere, competent, and reliable. They communicated well with us about the work that needs to be done and when they did, they covered the entire area. We were doing bathroom remodeling at the same time. While the contractors did a nice work, they left a huge mess, dust everywhere, they were mixing glue, cutting tiles on our living room without covering our furnitures, floors, other rooms, etc. They are on our cell and will reach out if any plumbing related issues arise.

We called J Sewer & Drain at 5pm on a Friday after finding our basement flooded and they had a team out to our house within an hour. I needed a water heater installation for a tenant and JSewer and Drain did NOT disappoint. Diego and Luis were exemplary plumbers. All of JSewer’s crew are amazing! They are my go to plumbers. When Diego arrived to my house I told him that there was something wrong with my water system before he started working. The cold supply line to my water heater was shut off I drained my water heater overnight but when I woke up this morning water was still flowing out. This meant cold water was leaking into my hot water pipes and back into my water heater. Although I told the team working on my water heater replacement this information as soon as they walked in they cut into the hot side pipe knowing that there was running water in it. This this started to flood my furnished rental apartment in my basement. Instead of trying to cap the leak The Operators started to try and soak up the leak. The water continued to leak until they finally went back to Home Depot to buy a new shut-off valve. It is my opinion that when a customer let you know there's a problem you should come up with a plan before cutting a pipe with running water in it. All I wanted was a simple apology from management but instead Jesus gaslit me into believing that this was how the work was supposed to be done and that he had 25 years of experience and these things just happen and I should be thankful that somebody was willing to work on Sunday. Regardless if they flooded my basement or not. The hot water did get installed and the damage was minimal (only because me and my renter worked diligently at mitigating the flood) so i paid what was owed but i will not be fooled to believe this was the best service that i could have recieved.

I got multiple estimates for an exterior flood control system, but J Sewer & Drain stood out right away. The owner was honest, responsive, and offered a fair price compared to other contractors. The work was completed quickly and smoothly with no issues at all. Glad I went with them. Ruby

Our house is 100 years old. Water was backing up into our basement shower. We called 3 companies and only Fair Plumbing sent someone out that same day. Manny used the camera and found that some clay pipes had shifted and rodding out the pipes did not clear the build up. The next day, Manny, Anthony and Gabriel arrived. A section of the basement concrete floor needed to be jackhammered to expose the pipe. Once exposed, they also found a hole in the sewer pipe and in the drain pipe. The clay pipes were replaced with a 10 foot PVC pipe, a new drain and two clean out traps were also installed. Anthony and Gabriel did a great job laying the new concrete and Manny made sure to keep us informed throughout the entire project. The team came on time, plastic was hung around the work area, they mopped the floor and did a great job cleaning up. They told us what they needed to do and they got it done. Thank you so much!

I had to get the line routed out between the house and the street, once that was fixed he had to repair the wax ring. Jose was my plumber, he was awesome! Polite and knowledgeable. A great smile too! I will definitely use him again. Thank you Jose!! 😊

Our toliet had been sprouting water from the tank, as well as leaking from around the bottom. Thomas and Rolando from The Fair Plumbers came out, and replaced the wax seal which was pretty much nonexistent, replaced the supply line and reconnected the valve. They were quick, thorough, and informative. The office also did a good job communicating when the plumbers were scheduled and on their way. Overall a great experience!
