Pricing is way over priced. They would not give me an estimate on the phone. Said tech had to see problem first. He came into my home to unclog my kitchen sink. He said it would be $475. It took him less than 10 minutes. He then tried to sell me a water softener system and a new hot water heater. He did give me a senior citizen $75 discount. It was still $400 for 10 minute of work. So unfair and poor form

Patrick arrived within a couple hours of us calling about a shower drain and toilet backing up on a Saturday. Gave us pricing up front and was super nice and professional the whole time. He explained our options and answered all of our questions. Great service and so far fixed the issue we were having!

We have used Roto-Rooter in Lawrence for one of my residential properties, and after multiple negative experiences, we will never use them again. Not only do they price gouge for jobs, but their professionalism while speaking to tenants is questionable at best. We waited over 4 hours for someone to be dispatched for an issue to get a call at 10pm that no one would be coming out. Another time they had to be called back out two days after coming to clear a clog prior, to do the same steps and bill for the service call again. On top of that, one of my tenants was told by a supervisor that came out to look at an issue, that if he could book the job to fix a pipe (which was not broken and just needed to be resurfaced) he was going to be able to retire with the amount of money he would get. Joking or not, that is unacceptable to speak on when dealing with a job, and among other things, has confirmed that we will be dealing with another company from now on.

Jeff Chaney was one of 4 plumbers to give me a quote for repairing my sewer line that had been damaged during construction. Jeff was the only one to take the time to spell it out all for me, so much detail. There was a question by the sewer camera man as to whether there was more damage further down,that he could not see because of the collapse. Jeff was the only one to say he would call the camera man back out to inspect the rest after it was opened. I was concerned about what this might cost if it was. I called Jeff, he took the time to call the city to get detail of just how deep the city connection was and took the time to figure the cost, worse case senerio. The day they were going to do it was going to be the hottest day so far this year, they would be in the sun shortly after sun up until complete. So they started early. Good thing, because once they had it opened, they discovered not only had my sewer been damaged, so had my neighbors. Brian and Bill did not bat an eye. Although they were suffering from the heat and the sun, after talking to the owner, they fixed his as well. They did a beautiful job replacing the damaged pipe as well as the yard. I would highly recommend Jeff and his crew for any of your plumbing needs. Jeff was so easy to work with. My brother and I really enjoyed getting to know them, that long hot day!

This was my first time using Chaney Services. I’ve had 2 other companies out trying to resolve an odor surrounding one of my upstairs bathrooms for months. The last plumber charged me an outrageous amount to replace a broken toilet not used for months, we thought may be the culprit. Did not resolve. Our HVAC guy cleaned and inspected our system and told us to call someone else in plumbing. Chaney was recommended to me by a co worker and I’m so thankful I called. Brian was here just a matter of minutes and asked if he could open our space below our systems in the garage. Come to find out builder never installed a p trap where our systems drains. Brian was the first person in 7 years to tell me my drain should never be empty, his first indication something was wrong. He quickly brought it up to code and fixed the plumbing. Within an hour after his departure the odor started to go away downstairs and we are hardly smelling anything upstairs now. Thank you Brian for taking the time to listen to me. I was starting to think i was imagining something was wrong. Services were more then affordalde and customer service was beyond excellent. Going forward I will be calling Chaney for all of my plumbing needs.

It’s my first time using Chaney, but would definitely recommend. Gave me an estimate before arriving, even showed up a day earlier than expected. Fixed my frozen outdoor spigot quickly, and came in under the estimate. Would highly recommend. Especially after having 2 different plumbers from Lawrence come out to look at it, and then never return.

The work turned out alright, but they were complete slobs. They got toilet wax all over my floor, consistently left dirt in my bathtub, put my toilet directly in my bathtub with nothing in between, tracked mud all over my apartment (the photo of my floor is AFTER they "cleaned" with MY cleaning supplies), got my bathmats filthy, and left a LITERAL cesspit in my bathroom overnight-- they took out a pipe and left a open, actively used sewer pipe that dumped waste in a hole in my floor. According to my property manager, they weren't timely about communicating things like when they found a cracked pipe (which they told me in the morning, but didn't tell the office until it closed) so the property manager didn't know I needed different accommodations and I was stuck in an apartment without a toilet for a two nights in a row.

We have used this company several times. They do top quality work, show up on time, are reasonably priced and honest. They do little things that make a big difference. We've had water heater replacement, a rabbit removed from an outside drain pipe and pipes cleaned out to assist better drainage insuring that we would not have clogged pipes and flooding. Amazing company.

Kastle and Mark were great in diagnosing a mysterious drain line problem. Ultimately it was solved with Mark’s experience and expertise. They cleaned up thoroughly after the repair. You can’t go wrong with Kastle, family owned for several decades and understand the ins and outs of Lawrence.

Have been a customer of Dunco for over 10 years. During that time have had outstanding service, However since Anthony took over, its a lousy run organization. Insist on monthly subscription instead of annual contract. Then constant stream of email and phone calls offering "free" electrical and plumbing checkups. Have been waiting 2 days for A/C tuneup and all I get is it's scheduled and they will be here. I will now cancel their "subscription" and get future service from a dependable and reputable company. This service already paid for or I would cancel it, assuming they even show up this week.

They’ve gone from being my first choice to last choice. The service was complete but filled with sales tactics. They offer a 10% discount if you subscribe to their monthly subscription, but they purposely make it really hard to cancel when you try to cancel. They used to be great but have been nothing but higher prices and pushy sales tactics ever since the merger.

Don't use unless you want them to leave you homeless. Action plumbing caught my condos attic on fire in my neighbors unit on July 22nd. The fire spread and left all 4 condos unlivable. It has been over a month and I still haven't be able to get my belongings moved, cleaned, or paid for. They are just rotting in the house. Mold is growing everywhere and neither they nor their insurance have told any of us what they are going to do to fix this. The owner hasn't apologized and won't respond to messages. They have not helped at all for leaving 4 families without their homes. Maybe had they communicated, I wouldn't be leaving this review. Had they just assured me they were going to do everything in their power to fix their mistake. 2617 w 24th ter. You can see the damaged roof for yourself.

Our pipes were frozen and even though it was a Saturday, Drake showed up in no time and got the job done. Excellent customer service and very affordable. We will definitely be using them in the future!!!!

We have a frozen pipe to our kitchen sink which is facing the wall to outside. We called Richard today because both sides of it are backed up. He talked us through many things and he charged absolutely nothing! We are SO grateful that we called him first! Could not be more pleased with Nick…he came out the same day and when he was going to be a little later than he originally thought he would be, he called to let us know. He quickly diagnosed the problem and went after it. Fee was very reasonable, especially for same day service. If/when we have a plumbing problem we will be calling A. Ability Discount Plumbing. Well, we had another plumbing issue. Couldn’t get propane water heater to relight. Called Richard on a Friday night. He was able to come out Saturday morning. In virtually no time he was able to fix my problem. Fee was very reasonable especially for a Saturday service call.

Listings on Google like this should be ILLEGAL. When you call and ask to speak with TKO Plumbing (or anyone there), you will be told that you have dialed the "wrong number". You will then receive a text from TKO PLUMBING providing the very same number. My guess is that this is a tertiary method of bringing in business from an outsourced agency that will funnel jobs to expensive, franchised businesses. Avoid calling them and call a verifiable, local provider, instead.
