Banks Quarles Plumbing Heating Cooling & Electrical
2501 17th St, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, USA
(205) 740-2483The technician arrived promptly, was professional and went right to work after i explained my problem. i had a clog at my septic outlet which was above and beyond what we originally thought the clog would be. They had the tools and equipment and got me flushing quickly and made sure everything was working before they left. I appreciated the clear communication and the respectful attitude of the team. Highly recommend.
5 months agoMichael from Banks Quarles was outstanding. He was quick, professional, and extremely thorough in resolving my plumbing issue. On top of his expertise, he was kind, personable, and took the time to make sure everything was handled correctly. The entire experience was smooth and stress-free. I truly appreciate his excellent service and would highly recommend him and Banks Quarles.
5 months agoI am a membership customer and recently had this company come out to diagnose a failed water heater. The technician was professional and the appointment itself was handled promptly. I was quoted $4,449.43 to replace a standard 50-gallon electric water heater located in an accessible attic, or $6,042.56 if I wanted an extended warranty. When I asked whether this was a typical rate, I was told it was competitive and that people pay this regularly. I ultimately declined the work. I purchased a comparable water heater and necessary parts myself and, with help from a family member, completed the replacement for under $700 total. No work was performed by the company beyond the initial evaluation. I’m leaving this review to encourage other homeowners to get multiple quotes and understand their options before proceeding with a major repair.

701 Rice Mine Rd N, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406, USA
(205) 752-6332I was skeptical at first, but the guys were professional, knowledgeable, and detailed in their work. They even had a friendly interaction with my dog(Ashor),Lol!but seriously; They fix my plumbing issues and I am on a septic system with a crawl space at a reasonable price. Quality of service with no funny business or extra costs.
8 months agoChad and Brendon arrived and were very knowledgeable and professional in evaluating my needs and responding to my questions. They indicated that they would get my requested estimate for the job done quickly. Both were courteous and friendly. Once I agreed to the estimate I was promptly given an appt for the work to begin. The job was to repipe my plumbing from an in-slab system to a pec system running up into the attic. The job was completed in a timely manner. I was kept informed during each step of the work and received detailed answers to any question that I had. I am 100% satisfied with the job and found these two servicemen very knowledgeable competent. The main office communicated daily with me to insure that the job was going as expected.
2 months agoIt is hard to express how much i enjoyed my experience as well as recommending them for others. I have trouble talking to new people but the technician was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Thats not even without mentioning the price I spent a mer fraction of what i thought i would need to and they never tried to upsell me on anything and they were extremely transparent with me. I look forward to using this company for anything they can provide for me. If I could rate 6 stars i would.
2 months agoRoto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
1610 Queen City Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, USA
(205) 758-0235Prompt service and an excellent professional demeanor from the technician, Jekovan Rhetta. He cleared a stubborn drain, made sure everything was working properly, and left the area clean before finishing. Honestly, the best service call I’ve had from a contractor. Also, Roto Rooter App is very helpful. Highly recommended.
4 months agoI am a first time customer with Roto-Rooter and if I could give them 10 stars I absolutely would. I had an emergency water leak coming from my bathroom tub faucet and a Field Water Restoration Supervisor arrived within 20 minutes of my call. He quickly assessed the situation and immediately turned off my main water supply, preventing further damage and saving me a lot on my water bill. I really appreciated his fast response, professionalism, and willingness to assist until the plumber arrived. Exceptional service. Thank you so much to the Roto-Rooter team.
5 months agoOur technician was very kind and helpful. He explained all our options and let me know the cost up front. He made sure that we had no other problems before leaving.

5 years agoSorry, wrong company! Google will not let me remove so, I gave a 5-star as I do not want to negatively affect their score. ;)
5 months agoWe called them the day we had a problem with our water not working due to lightening hitting the pipe. They showed me where the pipes were busted at. They came on out to fix it the same day and it was a reasonable price.

(205) 758-6237What a wonderful experience I had with this Company. I was scheduled quickly. The technicians were punctual, professional, and did an excellent job. The price of my repairs were very reasonable. I will definitely call on them again.
2 years agoVery pleasant interaction with One Call. Gunner came out and was very kind and courteous. He did resolved our plumbing issue quickly and efficiently. He was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of great information. He spent time educating us when he didn't have to. I would contact One Call again in a jiffy based on this interaction.
2 years agoI had used them a couple of years before to install a garbage disposal and was pleased with their work. I called them today - day after holiday - and got after hours service. I called twice and left messages at 8 AM and again at 9:15 AM and no response. They advertise 24/7 service but that’s obviously not the case.
2 years agoSpanky's Drain & Sewer Service
1420 Avalon Dr, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404, USA
(205) 556-1002We had this recurring problem of sewer backups in our home (constructed in the mid 2000's). An earlier video inspection had concluded a belly in one of the major sewer lines under our slab. The plumbers asked for some unholy (in my opinion) amount of money to fix the issue. We managed around the issue for some time then when were were ready to repair, we considered Spanky's, among other plumbers. Spanky's had the lowest estimate. BY FAR. Their detailed sewer locator mapping accurately identified where the issue was. And it turned out to be a hump, not a belly, in the line (most likely caused by mistake during construction). Trae and Eric did an excellent job accessing the pipe and fixing the issue. With the most minimum tear to the slab. Very friendly people to be around and work with. They explained things well, took my suggestions in to account, and answered my MANY questions. Cleaned up very well after finishing. At the end, they adjusted the price downwards because the problem turned out to be straightforward to resolve. An indicator of fair business practice. Highly recommended if you have a similar problem.
7 months agoTrae and Jason were very helpful and fixed multiple sink issues. They explained what they were doing and were friendly and professional. Will definitely use Spanky's again for future plumbing needs!
5 months agoGreat service. Cody got the job quick in and out. Great price too..Much appreciated.
3 months agoJason's Drain Service
2010 Mountainbrook Dr, Cottondale, AL 35453, USA
(205) 764-8182Jason did a great job on my sewer line repair. Very honest, prompt, and fair. Won’t hesitate to call him again if needed.
5 months agoJason's Drain Service did some work on our older home that included replacing a drain pipe under the house and installing a new pressure control valve. Jason Hunter and his team were friendly, professional and did a great job. If you are looking for a true professional with over 30 years experience who will show up when he promises and get your job done efficiently, give Jason a call. I will definitely call him again when needed.
2 years agoI recently used Jason’s Drain Service for 2 jobs. Don’t let the name fool you, they do much more than drains. They replaced a hot water heater (job 1) and replaced the cartridges in both of my bathtub faucets (job 2). Both faucets are working perfectly now and we have plenty of hot water. Their pricing is reasonable. However, the best thing about them is their willingness to work with your schedule and punctuality. For both jobs, I asked them to come on a specific date. They can on the date requested and were here shortly after 8:00. This is a drastic change from my previous plumber who was totally unreliable. Jason also did not mind me standing over his shoulder and asking questions. He even stayed a couple of extra minutes to make sure that one faucet stopped dripping. His prices are reasonable. He is *extremely* fair with his pricing. He is also very helpful with general information without charging for just a 5 minute conversation. EDIT: I just used him for a third job. He again was very punctual which was amazing given we are in the middle of a very hard freeze. His price for today's job was more than fair. I highly recommend Jason’s Drain Service.
2 years agoBama Drain and Sewer
11658 Brant Ward Rd, Coaling, AL 35453, USA
(205) 765-4123We purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's and paid for installation. After their installer came out twice and said he couldn't install it, Brandon and his crew saved the day. He came out the same day I called and installed a fitting for the dishwasher, came back the next day and removed the old dishwasher when the Lowe's installer said he could not get it out. Then as soon as the electrical work was done, Brandon returned and installed the new dishwasher. Bama Drain has done several projects for us and our family and without a doubt, they are the best! Friendly, informative, and very skilled folks at Bama Drain - highly recommend Brandon and Bama Drain!
8 months agoI can't speak highly enough of Brandon and Bama Drain & Sewer. Our nearly 30-year old water heaters burst Tuesday evening. I called four different plumbers and only Brandon responded. We had two new 50-gallon heaters installed Wednesday by noon, and for half the price of what another (highly-rated!) local plumber quoted me. First rate service at a bargain!
3 years agoFast and reliable service. Very professional and knowledgeable group of guys. I highly recommend Bama drain for any plumbing repairs. 10 stars !!!
1 year agoJohn Wayne Plumbing & Drain Services
608 41st St, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405, USA
(205) 343-1770Discovered septic tank was full and toilets could not be used just prior to leaving town for med apt at UNC Chapel Hill. Advised by neighbor who oversaw septic pumping that main line was stopped and toilets still unusable. Contact John Wayne plumbing and they came out the next day and unstopped the line quickly and efficiently. The lady in the office was competent, compassionate and professional. Highly recommend this company.
5 months agoMy entire experience was wonderful. The entire work staff were professional, understanding and very knowledgeable. I could not be more pleased that I decided to go with the family own business John Wayne Plumbing.
2 months agoCould not have asked for more top notch service from this company! We have been dealing with plumbing issues and hold ups(insurance )for about 3 weeks. When we were finally able to go ahead and schedule, John Wayne plumbing was promptly on time and ran into a LOT more problems than we all bargained for. They not only powered through(a half day job turned into into the night. Other companies would have called it a day, especially on a Friday, but they kept great attitudes and worked hard to get us completed. Will absolutely call them in the future!

6 months agoMy pipes burst and my house flooded about two weeks ago. We could not get the water to turn off. I called Turner and there was no technician available so Evan who was in office came right away and made sure my water got turned off. He even got out his shop vac and helped get water out of my house!! The very next morning Bryan came out and fixed my plumbing before 10 o clock! 2 years agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Dealing with a clogged sink or a backed-up sewer line in the Druid City can throw a major wrench in your day, especially during a busy Alabama game day or a humid summer afternoon. Whether you’re located near the University of Alabama campus or living out toward the quiet shores of Lake Tuscaloosa, finding a plumber who is actually available right now shouldn't be a frustrating game of phone tag.
That’s where our unique service makes the difference. Instead of you calling down a list of names and leaving dozens of voicemails, we utilize a real-time verification system. We scan our extensive network of certified Tuscaloosa plumbers, filtering specifically for your local zip code. Most importantly, we personally call them to confirm they have an open slot to handle your specific drain issue today. We do the heavy lifting so you can get your home back in order without the stress.
Common Drain Issues in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Tuscaloosa’s notorious red clay soil is one of the primary culprits for local drainage issues. As the ground shifts during Alabama's heavy rain cycles and subsequent dry spells, older clay or cast iron pipes can crack or 'belly,' leading to persistent sediment buildup and slow-moving drains that require professional hydro-jetting.
In neighborhoods like Pinehurst and around the University, majestic old oak and pine trees pose a constant threat to sewer lines. These roots are naturally drawn to the moisture inside your pipes, eventually infiltrating joints and creating massive blockages that standard retail drain cleaners simply cannot touch.
Many historic homes near downtown Tuscaloosa still operate on aging plumbing infrastructure. Over several decades, these pipes develop internal corrosion and scale buildup. This rough surface catches hair, soap scum, and kitchen grease far more easily than modern PVC, leading to frequent and frustrating backups in tubs and kitchen sinks.
Our deep Southern humidity also plays a role in local plumbing health. In Tuscaloosa, we often see a faster accumulation of biological 'sludge' in floor drains and HVAC condensate lines. Without professional cleaning, this biofilm can harden and cause unexpected flooding in laundry rooms or basements during the peak of summer.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Tuscaloosa, Alabama
After the heavy Alabama spring rains, be sure to inspect your outdoor area drains and gutters. Clearing out pine straw and debris prevents water from backing up and putting undue pressure on your home’s foundation and basement drainage.
During the sweltering Tuscaloosa summer, be extra cautious with your garbage disposal. Avoid putting fibrous corn husks or grease down the sink; our high temperatures can cause grease to liquefy and then solidify deeper in your pipes, leading to stubborn clogs.
In the fall, before the influx of guests for football season or the holidays, consider a preventative sewer camera inspection. Identifying a small root intrusion early can prevent a total sewage backup during a Crimson Tide home game weekend.
While West Alabama winters are generally mild, occasional hard freezes do occur. Ensure your outdoor hose bibs are disconnected and insulated to prevent pressure-related pipe bursts that can lead to major drainage emergencies once the thaw begins.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Drain cleaning costs in Tuscaloosa typically depend on the severity of the blockage and the equipment required. A simple sink snake is more affordable, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting for heavy root intrusion falls on the higher end of the scale.
