Mr. Ritter was amazing. I had what I thought was just a really bad clogged toilet. I called him and that very same day he was trying to unclog it for me. We weren’t able to get the toilet unclogged but he came back the next day and stayed late putting a camera down my pipes to see what was going on. Turned out I needed all new sewer line put in. He checked in with me regularly while I was getting the finances in order. But once I got that all straightened out and called him back to the house, he was there the next day giving me a day by day itinerary of the whole repair. He quoted me a week, but he had the plumbing finished and done with inspection a whole day early. I strongly recommend Mr. Ritter to fix your plumbing. Having a union plumber being honest with me and keeping things straight with me is very much appreciated. Needless to say he will be coming back out to help me replace the plumbing in the rest of my house.

Saturn Plumbing came out to repair a broken pipe under the house on our 1961 mid-century modern family home. They were on-time, thorough, cleaned up as if they were never there, and kept us informed of the job progress. Cameron Ritter/Saturn Plumbing is professional and honest. We had confidence the work was top quality and repaired to last.

Tommie came out in the middle of the night after our main drain clogged and backed up both of our downstairs toilets. He was insightful, kind, and let me know everything he was going to do and why he was going to do it. He walked me through the whole process. I’m grateful for his attitude and willingness to come out after hours to help.

Wow! Can I give more than 5 stars!!! These guys are truly reliable, trustworthy, and simply good at what they do!! I’m selective on the folks I allow to come into my house to perform work. The owner of Zoom Drain, Thomas, personally took my call at 7:30 AM ON A Sunday morning when I discovered that my water heater was leaking. All of his techs were off or sick that day so he came out to my house himself. He was there within an hour. He’s very knowledgeable about the industry and very thorough. He sent me a quote that afternoon and his price beat everyone else by $1000 to $2000. Everyone else kept upselling and telling me I needed things that I did not. Thomas is a family man that earns an honest living doing something he’s clearly good at. I got really great vibes about his person while he was at my house giving me a FREE quote and great advice. I’m not one to always accept the cheapest bid because I believe “you get what you pay for”. However, I ended up accepting his bid for the project because I had a good instinct after visiting with him. The next day, his techs came out to replace my water heater and install a new emergency drain pipe to the outside. Both of his techs were professional, and had a great work ethic. Because my house is old, there was a bit of an unpredictable incident as they were working. They immediately contained the situation with knowledge and quick thinking and there was no extra damage to my house because of their quick actions. Everything was installed perfectly and they even left the area surrounding my water heater cleaner than it was before they started. I could not have been more pleased with their service, their work ethics, and the quality of persons in my house. Thank you, Thomas, for your incredible service and your knowledge to hire good people. My techs were Scott and Camden. BOTH techs were excellent!!! I had never heard of Zoom Drain before. I’m not reviewing all of the Zoom Drain franchises… but this one is the only plumber I’ll call in the future. Found them on home advisor/angi’s list.

Scott was very professional. He cleared the drain line, reset my toilet and shared camera footage with me of where the drain line was partially separated for future repair. He also noticed the water flow was restricted while filling the tank. Scott troubleshoot the issue and looked up the part and where I could purchase it. My son purchased and replaced the part the next day. Thanks Scott for all your help and getting the plumbing working like new for a 55 year old home.

This company and employees are amazing!! Having elderly parents one in wheel chair one with heart issues, they responded quickly and did the job. Offered to help anyway they could ,making sure the hole was covered and blocked off so the dogs could be let out. The employees are very kind and courteous. Nick and Dylan the two employees that were at my house were amazing Raymond, who I spoke with on the phone assured me that he was staying up with the job here at the house and made sure that it was done in a timely manner due to the medical issues here at the house. I recommend this company 100% for any plumbing issues you have.

Changed vanity faucet, sink drain and replaced block valves in bathroom. Was provided an estimated quote prior to doing the job. Chris and his helper were in and out in hour and completed the job with no issues. Final bill was less than estimated quote and more than reasonable. Very professional and communicated every step of the way. I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Texas Plumbing and Backflow is an extremely professional service! It should be Texas Plumbing, Gas, and Backflow!!! This is the second “Gas” issue they have helped me with. The first gas help I received from them was to help me move a gas line to help with my backup generator. This event was we smelled gas in our home. After a very thorough and professional troubleshooting process, they found the leak. They immediately went to work removing the failed part and replaced it immediately. Kelly is amazing to work with and very professional. The owner of the company stopped by because he was in the neighborhood and wanted to see how things were going. Every member of their team is extremely professional and knowledgeable!!

My wife and I have a vacation rental we bought in August. This was a private home not in a rental pool. It had leaks. Thankfully, we were referred to Matt with Precision Plumbing. He has an instinct for leaks, .... no time wasted identifying our issues. A wrong-installed part from the prior owner in the master toilet was leaking at the rate of a gallon every two hours. ( data from EyeOnWater.com) ... The other issue was an old water filtration system system (our house is on the coast) that was rusted and leaking). So Matt knows water and plumbing engineering. He understands leaks. He is accurate and strait-to-the-point. My wife and I are thankful to have Matt as a partner ...... he shows up when he says he will and he nails the issue. Thank you Matt & Precision Plumbing.

Incompetent, Lazy and Over-priced. I hired them to do a number of work at my bed and breakfast, and they'd always charged exorbitant prices. I wouldn't have minded so much if they were competent and had better customer service. There were 3 tankless hot water heaters at the inn. One broke, so I asked them if the two remaining ones would provide enough hot water for our 7 rooms. They assured me it would, so I paid them about $3000 to disconnect the broken one. Later, I found that it would have cost me that much to put in a new one. After they disconnected it, guests began to complain about not having hot water in the morning when there was high usage. Now, I have to spend another $3000 to put in a new one. They were either too incompetent to foresee this or too lazy to put one in, and wanted to charge me the same price to disconnect it. Response to the Reply: I agreed not to replace the heater because you assured me that it wouldn't affect the hot water access. And 2570 is not 'about 3000'? You also just supported my point by stating that you charged 2570 just to disconnect a couple of wires. I subsequently received quotes to replace it for much less than that. I stopped contacting you because you also charged me an exorbitant amount for the last work. After a little research, I had enough. There are plenty of options in Galveston.

All the employees from Lister plumbing have been so competent and patient. Last evening Anthony Garcia worked on my toilet problems and I couldn't have asked for a more competent employee, and one who explained to me the process, with patience. Couldn't have asked for more. Lister is a good company to rely on.

Had plumbing service for the first time this morning in Texas City for a septic tank pump-out. I had asked for an early appointment, and Dean made sure I was first on his route, calling me with a 30-minute heads-up before arriving. Dean and his partner were quick, professional, and friendly, finishing the job efficiently in about 40 minutes. Dean also shared some helpful tips for keeping my plumbing system running well in the future and made sure all our problems were solved before they left—our toilets had started making that gurgling noise that means you really need to get your tank pumped, and everything was working perfectly again when they finished. I highly recommend using this company for any septic or plumbing needs. The positive reviews I read convinced me to check their prices, and everyone—from the office staff to the plumbers who came out—made it a smooth and pleasant experience, even though it’s a tough job!

We had a great experience with this plumbing company in Texas City. Our bathtub faucet broke, and we had to shut off all the water in the house, which meant we were without water for a whole day. After calling several plumbers, Dean from this company was the only one who could come out quickly, even making time for us after regular hours. He arrived looking professional, was very friendly, and clearly knew a lot about plumbing. Dean fixed the faucet fast and even took a look at a couple of other plumbing issues in our house, giving us helpful advice without trying to push any extra services. The price was fair and reasonable, and we really appreciated how responsive and hardworking Dean was. We'll definitely be calling this company for any plumbing needs in the future.

Our kitchen sink faucet stopped working late last night, and we quickly realized how much we depend on it, especially when we had to carry water from the laundry room. I called the plumbing company in Texas City as soon as they opened, and they said a plumber could be at our house in just twenty minutes. Greyson, the plumber who showed up, was friendly and really knew what he was doing. He spent some time here because the faucet needed to be replaced. He even offered to try and repair the old one, but since I never liked that faucet, I decided to go pick out a new one while he got started. By the time I came back with the new faucet, Greyson already had the old one removed and quickly installed the new one. The total cost was only $123, which was a pleasant surprise since I expected it to be much higher. Now we have a nice new faucet, water flows perfectly, and we're very happy with the service. The whole experience was smooth and easy, and I’d recommend them to anyone in Texas City needing a reliable plumber.

We had an issue with our water heater last weekend. I am so glad we called Grand Slam Plumbing. They were wonderful to work with and were able to come out quickly. Justin did such a great job. He explained everything he was doing and why. He is professional, kind, friendly and fast! And when he left, we had a new water heater, but no other evidence he had been there. He was neat and made sure everything was put back in place. We will definitely be using Grand Slam Plumbing again. Hopefully next time, it won’t be emergency circumstances!

Verify Availability Before You Call

Professional Drain Cleaning in Galveston, Texas

Living on the Island brings unique challenges to your home's plumbing system. From the historic charm of the East End to the vacation rentals lining the West End, Galveston residents need reliable drain cleaning services that understand our coastal environment. We have vetted a network of 15 certified plumbers across the city to ensure you receive top-tier service regardless of your location.

Our service takes the guesswork out of finding help. Instead of calling multiple shops and hoping for an opening, we filter our network by your specific Galveston zip code. We then personally call the technicians to verify they are available to handle your specific drain emergency right now. Whether it's a backup caused by coastal sand or aging infrastructure in a Victorian-era home, we find your solution before you even pick up the phone.

Common Drain Issues in Galveston, Texas

Sand Infiltration: Galveston's proximity to the beach means sand is a constant enemy. It easily finds its way into outdoor showers and floor drains, settling in P-traps and creating heavy, stubborn blockages that standard plunger techniques can't budge.

Saltwater Corrosion: The salty Gulf air doesn't just affect your car; it can accelerate the deterioration of older metal drainage pipes. We see many Galveston homes with 'scaled' cast iron pipes that catch debris and cause frequent recurring clogs.

Historic Infrastructure: In neighborhoods like the Silk Stocking District or around The Strand, many homes still utilize clay or aging cast iron pipes. These are prone to shifts in the sandy soil and intrusive root growth from local oaks and oleanders.

Seasonal Tourism Strain: For owners of short-term rentals, the influx of visitors during peak summer months puts a massive strain on plumbing systems. Grease, 'flushable' wipes, and excessive hair can quickly lead to a guest-ruining backup during a holiday weekend.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Galveston, Texas

Post-Summer Sand Flush: At the end of the busy beach season, have your outdoor drains and primary lines professionally flushed to remove accumulated sand and silt before it hardens.

Hurricane Season Prep: Before the peak of storm season, ensure your area drains and gutters are clear. High-volume rain in Galveston can quickly overwhelm a partially clogged drain, leading to localized flooding around your foundation.

Winter Cold Front Protection: While Galveston rarely freezes, those occasional 'blue northers' can catch residents off guard. Ensure any exposed drain lines under raised coastal homes are properly insulated to prevent cracking.

Holiday Grease Awareness: During the winter holidays, avoid pouring any cooking fats down the sink. In our coastal humidity, grease cools and solidifies quickly, leading to major blockages when local plumbers are at their busiest.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Galveston, Texas

$145-$475

Prices in Galveston vary based on the severity of the clog and the equipment required. A simple sink snaking typically starts around $145, while advanced hydro-jetting for sand-filled main lines can reach $475 or more.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Galveston, Texas

How quickly can you find a plumber near the Seawall?

Our system is designed for speed. Because we filter by your specific Galveston zip code and call to verify availability immediately, we can often find a technician ready to head to the Seawall or downtown area within minutes.

Can your verified plumbers handle sand clogs in beach houses?

Yes. We specifically vet for plumbers who have the heavy-duty equipment, such as hydro-jetters, which are necessary to properly clear heavy sand and silt common in West End and beachfront properties.

Is 24-hour emergency drain cleaning available in Galveston?

Absolutely. We verify 24-hour availability within our network, ensuring that even if your drain overflows at 2 AM on a Sunday, we find a certified Galveston plumber who is actually awake and ready to respond.

Do you service the historic East End homes?

Yes, our network includes plumbers who specialize in the delicate care required for historic Galveston plumbing systems, ensuring clogs are cleared without damaging aging pipes.

Why shouldn't I just use store-bought chemicals for a Galveston drain?

In Galveston's coastal environment, many pipes are already stressed by salt air and humidity. Harsh chemicals can accelerate the corrosion of older metal pipes and are often ineffective against the sand-based clogs common on the island.
