I just left my sisters house in DC where James did some work to repair a cracked expansion tank. The insurance adjuster had already been to the property, had the damage assessed by a professional and authorized my choice to use The Drain Fighter; James and another gentleman came to do the repairs. My sister has had 2 other assessments since the repair. Both assessed that the water heater was damaged in the process of repairing the expansion tank because it wasn’t damaged prior to the expansion tank repair as noted in the insurance assessment. I heard this from the new plumber myself!! It looks like tiny holes were drilled or something in the water heater but we couldn’t see them until the new plumber showed us!! To be honest after completing the $350 expansion tank job, my sister was informed by James that the job was completed he then said “but you need a water tank” he offered to install a water tank for $2,100 !!! But here is the issue the tank had no problems no damage before he installed a new expansion tank! Water is coming from the pipe from the hot water heater to the new expansion tank . So she had to turn the water off until it is fixed. My sister texted to complain we have copies of the text and have submitted a complaint to BBB, FTC and we are now on to a massive social media complaint with pictures!! This is horrible .

A-Atlantic Plumbing & Drain Service promptly and conveniently dispatched a team to clear an obstructed drain in the laundry room tub. Coordination for the service appointment was excellent. Emilio expertly cleared the obstruction and also replaced an aged and cracked concrete tub through which the washing machine drained together with the network of plumbing associated with tub. Emilio was efficient. The craftsmanship and the materials are top notch. Emilio left the worksite clean. Emilio was ably assisted by Antonio.

To share my experience, I was in a very sticky and leaky situation where my main water line was leaking underground which tripled my water bill. When I requested a repair quote, Vernon arrived on time and proposed the most efficient way to resolve the problem compared to 4 other companies. Since my costly issue occurs once in a blue moon, I wanted to make sure the job was done right in the first place and they have definitely delivered on time within the promised budget. Again greatly appreciated your team's A excellent work! On a side note - in my opinion, A stands for the A-Team. UPDATE: The technician who diagnosed my clogged kitchen sink drain was incorrect in their assessment. Upon further reflection, it's silly to think the technician could properly diagnose the issue considering they didn't even turn on the water. What ended up being a vapor lock caused by a clogged drain vent (diagnosed and fixed personally) was originally diagnosed as either a clogged drain pipe or improper drain design because of too sharp a turn in the piping. The MINIMUM estimate to fix what was improperly diagnosed was about $800-900 just to snake the drain. Other estimates for unnecessary work reached upwards of $2,500. Needless to say, I will not be using The Plumbing Dr again. ORIGINAL POST: Very knowledgeable, and honest with their recommendations. I had an issue with my kitchen sink drain, and they assessed the issue, proposed solutions, and advised on potential alternatives. Not pushy in their sales either, which I appreciated.

My mother experienced sudden flooding in her lower level bathroom. We were able to shut off the main water valve. We contacted Roto-Rooter and within an hour, Oleg B, field supervisor was on site To inspect the issue. He was able to quickly make an assessment, contact a plumber, who arrived within the hour. In the meantime, he was reassuring professional, and answered all of our questions and filing a claim with our insurance company for the remediation as it was determined, the backup was from the main water/sewer line. Both Oleg and the Plumber were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Within a couple of hours, the initial job was complete completed, and water was restored. Oleg also said he would work with us providing pertinent and technical information to the insurance company claim. He provided his contact information and followed up with us through out the afternoon and evening.

Roto-Rooter quoted me $2,200 to replace roughly six inches of accessible ½-inch copper pipe and a kitchen faucet. A licensed local plumber completed the repair for $450, and the faucet did not need replacement — it only required a simple aerator. The discrepancy in both cost and diagnosis was alarming. Please get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive plumbing work. Supporting a reputable local plumber saved me thousands of dollars.

Delighted with the quick response to our sewer line blockage, they got a technician out to us within an hour of my call. The service include running the cutter snake as well as a camera afterwards so we could clearly see what the problem was and exactly where we need to start digging to fix it. Both technicians (Henry on the snake machine and Bryan with the camera) were terrific, friendly and professional and flexible with our options for how to approach the problem. Not the lowest price but a quick response with top notch equipment earns my respect for the work they did.

We had a great experience with Henry from Roto Rooter. Henry was extremely patient with my many questions regarding our sump pump. He was very transparent and helpful. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone asking for plumbing recommendations!

Absolutely terrible experience. Wanted to repair a single clogged drain pipe in the front of the house. Roto-Router told me the cost was $841! I said that the job could not possibly cost that much -- I estimated at most 1-1/2 hrs labor and perhaps a bit for PVC parts. The repair person said "OK, how much do you think it's worth?"!!! I suggested $200 and we finally agreed on $300 -- $541 less than what he wanted to gouge me for!! After about 1-1/2 hours, he destroyed one section of pipe with his heavy machinery, leaving the problem worse than before. I called our local landscape company, and they found that the problem was simply a 3 foot bad section. They replaced it, tested for leaks, and everything is like new. Cost ... $195. (Interesting that this was my own estimate!). If I could leave 0 stars, I would have done so. Use this company at your own risk! UPDATE 20 November 2025: After posting my review, I received an email from Roto-Rooter's Customer Service Manager who told me he had sent my complaint to their General Manager. The GM called me the same day, only to tell me that I did not understand how difficult the job was and also that Rotor-Rooter always provides high estimates since they EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO NEGOTIATE DOWNWARDS! After explaining to this gentleman that I had another company fix the problem and the damage done by Roto-Rooter, he reluctantly said that he would refund my $300. Guess what? Never heard again from them, and never received my refund. I once again contacted Customer Service, and within a day received a nasty email from one of their service guys. He told me that I should be happy to have paid $500 less than the going rate, and that I should have known that I signed a waiver that any damage done by them was just too bad. Of course, no mention of the $300 that they promised to return to me, but rather another snarky email. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you really enjoy being fleeced and ending up with bigger problems than what you started with.

Victor Lyan was awesome. We had a big clog and he went above and beyond to help us out. He spent more time than we had anticipated trying to get the job done right. Highly recommended!

Vicente was an excellent technician! He gave a thorough explanation of the issue (defective P-trap under our bathroom sink) and was transparent with the quote. The work was performed efficiently and effectively. I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter and specifically Vicente for any plumbing needs.

James Milligan came back to my home to perform a leak test on the main line to the house after I consulted with him. I am in the process of selling and the buyers had two “plumbers” come and look at a “suspected” leak. Neither performed an actual leak test, but both said it was leaking and the main would need to be replaced at a cost of around $10K. James told me although the test would cost me $309 it would be money well spent if it demonstrated there was no leak (he suspected it was not leaking). After 30 minutes of watching the meter after shutting off the main it hadn’t moved. NO LEAK! James saved me from having to argue about a $10K subsidy/main line replacement. 5 stars just doesn’t cut it…10 stars!! Jim is a huge asset to Len the Plumber, no question about it!

Daniel Aguirre did an amazing job replacing our water heater. He truly Exceeded our expectations In his work, detailed explanations, speed and professionalism. We have a 1959 home and are so impressed. When you think about before and after pictures, you don’t usually think about your plumbing and utility closet , but if you could see ours you would get it. We have had multiple projects with Cardinal and they always have the best techs. Communication is exceeded expectations. Our last job was a repair to our sewer line. The inspection and estimate provided by Stephen P was fair and he followed up personally concerned that we didn’t have another estimate given to just tighten the couplings. He cared about the job being done correctly. The tech who came out to do the job, Josh was incredibly personable and it honestly felt like he was taking care of us like family. Both techs used clean linens to protect our floors and were in and out quickly. We recommend Cardinal frequently because they demonstrate they value customer service and clearly take care of their employees.

Angelo installed our new Zip Hydrotap G5 and we couldn’t be happier. The system is pretty new to market so it was the first one he’d done. Possibly the first one Cardinal has done. He took his time to fully understand the complex setup to ensure everything was done exactly right. Once installed he tested everything he then walked me through how to use it and do maintenance going forward. There were a few challenges due to the tight space it was going into, but he took the time to walk me through options to ensure we were aligned with his recommendations. Amazing work!
