Top Rated Plumbers in Amarillo
Lawson's Contracting Services LLC
15401 FM 2590, Amarillo, TX 79119, USA
(806) 355-8246We had a sewer line blockage under the slab caused by a sewer snake that broke and twisted up. Lawson’s was able to come out and assess the problem quickly and advised us of our options. Because this is both a residence and a home office they were great about getting us scheduled to begin the repairs. The crew was dedicated to and worked diligently to get the problem resolved. They inspected every aspect of the sewer system to address any additional problems and advised us of resolutions. Any plumbing issues are expensive these days but after seeing all that was involved with this job I believe it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend Lawson’s to everyone!!
3 months agoLawson's did a fantastic job with our entire project! They replaced our sewer line as planned, but they also identified and replaced a leaky water heater. Lawson's worked with us to get the additional issue resolved quickly. Throughout the entire project, the staff was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be using them for all future projects! A huge thanks to the whole crew!
2 years agoLawson's contracting services were great! From the first encounter with Mr. Paul and Bryan, to The Joe's and Jesus were friendly, professional, honest, and on point. We had a couple of issues and pivots, but the Team got it done. I would certainly recommend them. I had the works done, cast iron relined, placed, descaled, etc.
10 months agoJasper Plumbing Services, LLC
1602 SW 8th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79101, USA
(806) 731-2222I contacted Jasper’s Plumbing for a second opinion after another plumbing company performed a camera inspection and claimed we had three broken sewer lines under our slab, with 75% blockage from tree roots from the exterior line to the city main. Their estimate—if I handled the slab demo myself—was $17,500 just to reinstall pipe, without backfill. They would not release the camera footage. After speaking with a general contractor, I was facing a projected $50–75k total cost and being displaced from our home for 5–9 months. Understandably stressed, I called Jasper’s and explained the situation to Mitch, requesting a second opinion. They came out the very next day and performed a full camera inspection. What they found was completely different: no tree roots, no broken lines, no disintegration—just two minor low spots (gulleys) in the line. Importantly, they explained this was not an emergency and did not require immediate repair. Jasper’s took the time to walk us through multiple honest options, including: -Leaving the line as-is with no immediate action -Addressing the low spots as preventative maintenance -Replacing only the cast iron sections beneath areas we’re already remodeling (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry) As a comparison, they quoted $750 to replace the full section under one bathroom (including P-traps) once demolition is complete—a fraction of the original quote. They also explained that if full replacement were ever needed, they could bore under the house and access connection points without tearing up floors or displacing us until we were ready. The emotional relief was overwhelming. The fear and anxiety caused by the first company were immense—I was up at 3 AM searching for alternatives when I found Jasper’s mentioned on a Reddit forum. I submitted an inquiry through their website at 4 AM and received a call back as soon as business opened. They were onsite the next day. I cannot express how grateful I am to work with an honest, knowledgeable, and transparent company. Huge thanks to Mitch, Joe, and Cash for showing up promptly, conducting a thorough inspection, and clearly explaining every option—without pressure or scare tactics. If you take anything from this review: always get a second opinion and be present during inspections. Jasper’s Plumbing restored my faith that trustworthy contractors still exist. Highly, highly recommend.

2 months agoWillis Plumbing Heating & AC
722 S Arthur St, Amarillo, TX 79102, USA
(806) 374-4551Called Willis about a backed up kitchen sink which the lady who answered the phone was lovely and helpful. Took my information a said she’d call back with availability. I called on Tuesday and they were able to come fix my problem on Thursday. Showing up they were super knowledgeable and efficient and had my problem fixed in 20 minutes at an extremely reasonable rate. Will definitely be calling Willis for any future plumbing fixes.
2 weeks agoWillis Plumbing did a fantastic job replacing our sewer line a few months back. This past Friday, we had our third pipe burst after thawing, and they were kind enough to come after 5, take a look it, and replace it within an hour. We are so grateful, and we highly recommend them.
5 years agoBob and Henry from Willis Plumbing fixed our water valve issue quickly! I was to be getting a dishwasher uninstalled and installed from the service man from Best Buy. He said he couldn’t install the new dishwasher because of a valve issue. He quoted me $250. I declined. Than he said he could do it for $200. I declined and said I would use my local plumber. I believe he was in from Dallas delivering and installing for Best Buy. The price from Willis Plumbing was $150 which was fair and exactly as quoted. They even fixed a leaky valve in my shower which wasn’t included in the quote. I'm so glad I chose them as I used them once before. I would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of a reliable plumber!"
3 months agoMr. Rooter Plumbing of Amarillo
3801 Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106, USA
(806) 223-2906Garrett was polite and efficient. Explained what he planned to do up front and then what he accomplished when he resolved our slow draining issue. Would definitely call again for any future issues.
1 month ago5 x 10 stars for Mr.Rooter Plumbing of Amarillo. This last Friday, our water heater bit the dust. Within 30 minutes, their plumber, Trent, arrived and pronounced my water heater DOA. Trent showed up promptly at 9 am this morning and around noon he had us up and running. It was extremely fantastic to have a professional like Trent do the job. The cost was about what I expected and we’re good for at least 10 years with the warranty. Check it out! Thanks Y’all!!
3 months agoTrent came to inspect the problem I had and I was appreciative of his inspection. I told him it was easy to get to and I could fix the problem. Trent and Garrett are great individuals. They have both been respectful and pleasant to talk to. Thanks to all your staff for all that you do. God bless!
1 month agoPratt Plumbing
6007 SW 45th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79109, USA
(806) 373-7866Pratt Plumbing did an excellent job installing gas lines to two furnaces in my business. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and professional. Michael and German handled the installation, and their workmanship was top-notch. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and made sure everything was done correctly and safely. You can tell they take pride in their work. Preston also deserves recognition for his great work clearing a completely stopped-up floor drain. He was thorough, efficient, and got everything flowing properly again with no issues. I also want to give a shout-out to Andrea in the office—she was friendly, responsive, and great to work with when scheduling and coordinating everything. I highly recommend Pratt Plumbing for any commercial or residential plumbing or gas work. Great team, great service, and great results!
1 month agoAbout out to German. Yes that's his name. He came over and when we explained the problem and he asked a lot of questions to help us find the problem and he got our run out pipes cleaned out. Back in July, we had Preston from Pratt come out and he cleaned the system BUT the problem came back. Backed up to washer and toilet and shower. Turns out we have some roots in our old lines. So he showed us recommendations to take care of the problem AND to keep our pipes clean going forward. He was as professional as it gets and tried to save us $$$ which he did. We expected to pay about $600 but only wound up spending $300. Money saved and was able to find the problem and helped us come up with a fix. Professional and helpful. Thank you guys. Small shout out to Preston too. In July he was incredibly helpful and professional as well. We didnt think about roots at the time or the clog being after the washer...all the lines tie to line and the washer is the last major water dump off before the run out. German thought maybe our issue was in the run out and he was right. So hopefully were good going forward. He ran the electrical snake and when he retracted it back, we saw tree roots.
5 months agoSo my home is a bit older. That being said things should work well. Sometimes they do not. Pratt plumbing has been great in helping me keep up the house. Recently, they came out to install a new toilet and also to help with some plumbing. I have to say they were great. They do not have lots of people but the people they have are great. I had lots of interaction with Preston. Again, they were great. They were back and forth for 3 days including one long day that started at around noon and finished around 7 pm. The ordeal thankfully finished and we did not have to dig up any walls or any type of other misadventure. My thanks to them for a job well done (and no construction needed!).

2 months agoWhat a great experience. Ryan was just super knowledgeable, courteous, and got right to work. He explained everything well and made sure the work was done right. I couldn’t have had a better couple of guys putting in my new water heater. (They are both really cute , too.) I’m not sure of Ryan’s helper’s name but he was cool. I will be using Frank’s forever now because of them. Thanks, guys! Darlene Brazille

2 weeks agoMy landlord had these guys come out and fix our plumbing. He snaked the clean out line and got it flowing but it wasn't normal. Today we start having the same issues,so I go outside and the guys BROKE the clean out port and dirt and dibre have just been falling into the line! Now my family can't use the toilet or shower. I don't want to hurt anyone's business but I definitely don't appreciate this and I don't want anyone else to experience it,be cautious with these guys.
5 months agoI was given a 15 minute window for when plumbers would arrive and they arrived as scheduled. A big plus in my opinion. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and quoted a reasonable price for the work. Repair was completed quickly and to my satisfaction. Potential problems areas to watch out for were explained and they left the area as neater or neater than when they arrived. Will not hesitate to call again for future work.

Common Drain Issues in Amarillo
Hard Water Mineral Buildup: Amarillo's water is known for its high mineral content. Over time, calcium and magnesium can create scale inside your pipes, narrowing the passage and causing frequent, frustrating slow drains that DIY chemicals can't fix.
Caliche Soil and Shifting Foundations: The unique soil composition in the Texas Panhandle is prone to shifting, especially during our dry spells. This movement can cause underground drainage pipes to belly or crack, leading to recurring backups in older Amarillo neighborhoods.
Wind-Blown Debris in Vent Stacks: With the intense, sustained winds typical of the High Plains, dust and organic debris often find their way into roof vent stacks. When these vents are obstructed, your drains lose the necessary airflow to move water efficiently, leading to gurgling sounds and slow drainage.
Root Intrusion in Established Neighborhoods: In many of Amarillo’s more established areas, the roots of thirsty elm and cottonwood trees seek out the moisture in sewer lines. These roots can penetrate even small cracks in older clay or cast iron pipes, causing massive blockages that require professional hydro-jetting.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Amarillo
Spring: After the heavy spring winds, check your outdoor area drains and gutter downspouts for accumulated silt and Panhandle dust that can clog your home's perimeter drainage system.
Summer: With the summer heat, organic matter in your kitchen disposal can break down faster and cause odors. Run cold water for 30 seconds after use to ensure all debris is flushed completely past the P-trap.
Fall: Before the first freeze hits Amarillo, disconnect all garden hoses and check your outdoor faucets. Trapped water can back up into your interior lines, leading to pressure issues and potential pipe bursts.
Winter: During our sub-freezing High Plains winters, keep your cabinet doors open to allow warm air to circulate around pipes. Frozen grease or sludge in a drain line is much harder to clear during a cold snap.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Amarillo
The cost for drain cleaning in Amarillo typically varies based on the severity of the clog and the equipment needed, such as a standard snake versus hydro-jetting for main sewer lines.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Amarillo
How quickly can I get a plumber to my Amarillo home?
Our service is designed for speed. We specifically filter for plumbers in your Amarillo zip code and call them to confirm they can provide same-day service before we connect you.
Do you handle emergency drain cleaning in Amarillo on weekends?
Yes. We verify 24-hour availability within our network, ensuring that if you have a backup on a Saturday night in the Panhandle, we find a technician who is actually ready to head to your location.
Why do my Amarillo drains smell like sulfur?
This is often due to bacteria growth in the P-trap or mineral buildup common in Amarillo's hard water. A professional cleaning can remove the organic biofilm causing the odor.
Can your plumbers fix tree root issues in older Amarillo sewer lines?
Absolutely. We match you with Amarillo professionals who have the specialized equipment, like sewer cameras and hydro-jetters, to clear roots from older clay or cast iron pipes.
Does the hard water in the Texas Panhandle affect my drains?
Yes, the mineral-heavy water in Amarillo causes scale buildup. This scale makes the inside of your pipes rough, catching hair and grease more easily, which leads to more frequent clogs.
