Memphis Premier Plumbing
3090 Old Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38128, USA
(901) 698-3442Had a clogged drain in the basement, which was getting frustrating. The technician arrived on time, explained the process, and resolved the blockage without damaging any pipes. He even suggested some preventive steps for the future. Very satisfied.
4 weeks agoThe plumber who came for our toilet repair was punctual and very knowledgeable. He walked us through the problem and provided a clear estimate before starting. I liked that he checked the entire toilet system, not just the immediate issue. Very professional approach.
3 weeks agoWe booked a water heater replacement, and the team arrived right on schedule. They handled the installation with minimal disruption, tested the system, and even removed the old unit. The consultation beforehand was helpful to choose the right model. Satisfied overall.
3 weeks agoNational Economy Plumbers
2114 Southern Ave, Memphis, TN 38114, USA
(901) 278-4242We had a great two great experiences recently with National Economy Plumbers. They cleared a line and replaced a toilet for us a few weeks ago (can't remember the employee's name) and did a an excellent job. Last week, D.J. cleared a clogged AC condenser drain and created new access to it to avoid a repeat clog. They always respond quickly (usually same day) to our calls and are friendly, professional and thorough. Highly recommend!
5 months agoGood local honest business. Would definitely recommend! Called for non-emergency service and got someone out within two hours. Fair rate and the friendly plumber (Monte) explained everything well. The scheduling person Glen was friendly and a clear communicator.
3 weeks agoI Do Not Recommend National Economy Plumbers. Nothing economy about $1,080 in labor for replacing 2 cracked elbow PVC pipes. I tried calling and asking questions about it. I left a message with Glenn, was told he’d get back with me and never did, so I called a second time. Spoke to a woman who took another message. Then, a guy named Dennis called me back. The only explanation I was given for the excessive labor being so high was because the “glue took 2 hours to dry.” That would be $360 worth of drying time, according to their labor rate. I was initially told this would be a quick, inexpensive fix. I have paid the bill and moved on, but I do NOT recommend using National Economy Plumbing.

1 year agoCame out today and checked my septic system and said it was all good. Expected a service call bill and got one but was $0.00. Tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely call them again when I have my septic pumped. Talked to 2 different receptionist and both were very knowledgeable and friendly!!
1 year agoRooter-Man has always given excellent service, and this visit today was above par as well. I called yesterday with drains backing up and Tiffany, at the office, did her best to get a technician out asap. She was in contact with me throughout the day, and the technician arrived bright and early the next morning. Alton, was so friendly and thorough. It is so nice to see an office that will go the extra mile to make sure that an emergency situation is serviced!

2 weeks agoRoto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
254 Court Ave Ste 107, Memphis, TN 38103, USA
(901) 554-4387Let me start first to say thanks R R for solving my problems backup main drain a root was caught up in the main drain . Hunter work deligently to resolve my problem I recommend this company to anyone that want to get great customer service, honesty , hunter also clean up behind himself great company I wil forever use this company !
5 months agoExcellent service received from John and his crew. John responded within 15 minutes after I contacted Roto-Rooter and explained that I heard water running in my bathroom wall. They located the leak and got to work to repair it immediately. The hot water pipe was rerouted and let water was turned back on the same day. 7 fans and 2 humidifiers placed in my home to dry the slab in 3 rooms. They did Such a great job and I will definitely refer them out to anyone who is in need of water damage cleanup.
6 months agoA couple of weeks ago, we had Roto-Rooter come out to our business because we were having recurring issues with the toilets. They diagnosed what they believed was the problem, charged $500, and told us that if the same issue happened again within 30 days, they would come back at no charge under their warranty. Less than a week later, the same issue happened again. When the technician arrived, he initially claimed he could not find the record of our previous call and said he could not even look at the problem without charging us more money. After I insisted, he finally located the prior service record. Then, after looking at the issue, he told me that what needed to be done this time was “not under warranty” and that I would need to pay another $200. He tried to frame it as a partial discount because of the warranty, but it was still an additional charge. I reminded him that we were told very clearly that if the same issue happened again within 30 days, it would be covered. After a lot of back and forth, they reluctantly agreed to fix it but warned me that if they had to come back again, it would no longer be covered under warranty. The entire experience felt like they were more interested in squeezing extra money out of us than honoring what we had already paid for. It was frustrating, unprofessional, and felt like we were being taken advantage of. A week later, the problem came back yet again. Instead of calling Roto-Rooter, I chose to hire another plumber, paying over $300 out of pocket. I would rather pay someone else than deal with the runaround and questionable business practices we experienced with Roto-Rooter. From this experience, I have decided not to use Roto-Rooter again.
5 months agoChoate's Air Conditioning, Heating, Plumbing And Electrical - Memphis
2526 Sam Cooper Blvd, Memphis, TN 38112, USA
(901) 347-8002Mr. A. Ramirez and his team were excellent. They worked in a fashionably and timely manner. They also took the time to answer any and all questions that were asked of them and in a professional manner. I would recommend him and the entire team to anyone that is looking for a heating, air, or both. I appreciate their timelessness in which it took to get the project done and complete and cleaning up behind them. Thank you guys for taking excellent care of installing the heating unit for my father. It has been working really efficiently. Thanks and kudos to you and your team.
1 month agoMy experience with my hot water heater installation was positive overall. There was an initial hiccup prior to installation day, but Bianca and Jason provided excellent service recovery by sending Terry out, who was amazing. On installation day, Jacob and Sean completed the installation and did an excellent job. From my standpoint, they were professional and got straight to business. Jacob also did a great job educating me, which I truly appreciated. Thank you to the entire team who assisted from beginning to end.
2 months agoMr. Christopher was great. He educated me on all the things wrong with my hot water tank, although it couldn't be fixed, he went the extra mile offering financial services through wells fargo when I was turned down he called his Supervisor for a secondary payment finance offer and they applied coupons and discounts for the replacement unit. He arrived on time, dressed well and ready to get the job done. He even collected my Amazon package from the driver and brought it inside. Thanks for the outstanding services but at this time, I choose to go with another less expensive option.
4 weeks agoUnited Plumbing & Mechanical Inc
7811 US-70, Bartlett, TN 38133, USA
(901) 870-2226Took about a month too long. Poor communication and I took time off work for them to be there when they said they would - only for them not to show up. I had to be the one calling the office over again to know when work would be done. I had to spot out all things I saw wrong. Messy work. My toilet was left scratched up on top from tools I’m guessing. Lots of dust and rust left behind that it stained my toilet and I had to clean. One wall of the new shower was installed crooked (later fixed by owner)…Hole was cut too big through fiber glass and was patched with caulking. I had originally asked for all tile to be taken down and tile was left behind the toilet. From the tile that was taken down the tile behind the toilet was caved in and cracked. Also being crack was made on another wall which ended up on other side of the wall in bedroom. Drain PCV was not caulked in inside so it left room for hair and stuff to get caught. I talked to the owner and he resolved these issues as best as he could. Not sure if this was a one off situation but this was also the first time I have ever hired a plumbing company on my first home for a shower install. It’s been almost 2 weeks a since work has been done. Still finding things wrong like places that were not caulked enough.
3 months agoUnfortunately, I had a bad experience with these folks. I've tried reaching out for a few months to see if we could resolve the issues, but have not received a single response. We hired United to do the plumbing for a small cottage in our backyard. At the beginning we really liked the guy that was heading up our project (John possibly?), but then small mistakes started cropping up - for example, a drain pipe set three inches in the wrong direction prior to pouring the foundation which required us to change the framing plan and affected the layout of two different rooms. Then, long stretches between the crew's visits without any communication. I'd call or text saying we were ready for them to come out, or ask what the holdup was, and get a vague answer or none at all. There were a few times when I asked about things I noticed were wrong or off and never got straight answers or an offer to fix them. For example, no drain was put in for the toilet (I asked about this a few times) and a main cleanout was put right in front of the front door. Finally, after two months of zero communication (after a total of six months working with them), I called and let them know we were going to hire someone else. I was kind about it. The new plumbers confirmed the issues I had noticed, ended up having to jackhammer the floor to fix them, and brought up other issues that United should have seen and discussed with us. We had to spend roughly $3000-4000 to undo and fix the issues. Had United done a good job from the beginning and more thoroughly investigated our system and lot, we honestly might not have ever moved forward with the project. My intention in reaching out was to discuss the situation with the owner, who I'm not sure was even aware of all that went on, and see if we could seek a partial refund on the work, but after several calls and texts, I've heard nothing back. If someone from United sees this message, I'm happy to discuss further and edit my review accordingly! I see your good reviews and don't think this is the norm for your work.
1 month agoJohn came to give me an estimate for a possible lining of my plumbing pipes. He is a professional and honest person who took the time to explain everything clearly and offer several solutions to my problem. I had a very bad experience with another company a week ago — they hydro-cleaned my pipes but didn’t perform the proper work, quoted incorrect tasks, and overcharged me. John, on the other hand, provided a thorough and transparent assessment. At the end of his visit, he even gave me a flash drive containing a complete video of the camera inspection, showing my system foot by foot. Highly recommended — ask for John!
4 months agoAll Clear Drain Cleaning and Plumbing Co
3663 Cherry Rd Ste 101, Memphis, TN 38118, USA
(901) 367-7484All Clear Techs came out to our home twice and failed to properly diagnose the plumbing issue but charged us $440. They came out a third time as a “courtesy” to unstop the sewer drain less than a week after they cleared it. During the courtesy call, we were told we needed a $2,500 repair job and they wanted to come out the same day. We called another company for a second opinion that cost another $375. We are out close to $1,000 because of the All - Clear mis - diagnosis. Finally, on the second call to our home, the Tech showed me a photo of roots that came from our drain. Well, unbeknownst to the Tech, we have cameras all over our property and DID NOT see him pull anything from the drain ON CAMERA. That could be criminal sir! We used your service in good faith and got scammed. So don’t complain when we DON’T use your small minority business! All Clear, you have to do better by your clients.
5 years agoI have used All Clear on two occasions at a rental property. The fist time Bobby was the plumber and he cleared several drains for me. About a month later one of them clogged again. Bobby came out and cleared it at no charge. The second time, Mel was the plumber and he found and repaired a leak in a copper supply line. Both Bobby and Mel were very professional and conscientious. The prices for their work is reasonable too.
5 years agoi had a sewer back up on 2 toilets, I called on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm, and Bobby, a on call technician was at my house by 4 pm. What an outstanding and hard working guy. He didn't stop until he figured out the problem. I would recommend this company and Bobby to Anyone out there who's needing a quick turnaround and nothing but professionalism. Thank you All Clear.
5 years agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in Memphis
Memphis is a city defined by its rich history and riverside charm, but the aging infrastructure in many of our neighborhoods can lead to significant plumbing headaches. From the historic estates in Central Gardens to the bustling commercial corridors of East Memphis, a clogged drain can bring your day to a grinding halt. Finding a plumber who is actually available when you need them shouldn't be another chore on your list. Our service revolutionizes how Bluff City residents find help. We don't just provide a list of names; we actively scan our network of certified Memphis plumbers and filter them based on your specific zip code. Most importantly, we call them to verify they are available for 24-hour service before you ever pick up the phone. Whether you are dealing with a midnight emergency or a slow-moving kitchen sink, we ensure the pro we send is ready to work right now.
Common Drain Issues in Memphis
Tree Root Intrusion: Memphis is famous for its lush canopy of magnolias and massive oaks. Unfortunately, these roots are drawn to the moisture in older clay pipes common in Midtown and surrounding historic districts. They penetrate the joints, causing stubborn blockages that require professional equipment to clear.
BBQ Grease Buildup: We take our BBQ seriously in Memphis, but our drains often pay the price. Pouring fats, oils, and grease down the sink is a primary cause of 'fatbergs' in local pipes. These deposits solidify over time, creating a thick sludge that standard retail drain cleaners simply can't dissolve.
Mississippi River Sediment: Being a river city means our local water can carry unique mineral and sediment profiles. Over the decades, this sediment can settle in the horizontal runs of your drainage system, especially in older cast iron pipes, leading to chronic slow drainage and frequent backups.
Stormwater Pressure: Memphis frequently experiences heavy rainfall and flash flooding. When the city’s storm infrastructure is pushed to its limit, it can create back-pressure on residential sewer lines. This often results in sewage backups in basements or floor drains during the rainy season.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Memphis
Spring Pipe Inspection: After the heavy spring rains common in West Tennessee, check your basement and crawlspace for signs of slow-draining water, which could indicate that silt from the yard has entered your line.
Summer Odor Control: The intense Memphis humidity can cause organic matter in your traps to decay faster, leading to foul smells. A professional drain cleaning before the peak of summer can keep your home smelling fresh.
Fall Leaf Debris: As the leaves fall, ensure your outdoor area drains are clear. Debris that gets washed into these pipes can lead to standing water around your foundation during the winter months.
Winter Freeze Prep: Before the occasional Memphis deep freeze, ensure your main line is clear. Standing water in a clogged pipe is much more likely to freeze and expand, leading to a much more expensive pipe burst.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Memphis
Pricing in Memphis is generally affordable but varies based on the severity of the clog. A simple snake service for a single drain is at the lower end, while main line clearing or hydro-jetting to remove tree roots or heavy grease falls on the higher end.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Memphis
How quickly can you find a plumber in my Memphis neighborhood?
Because we filter by your specific zip code and call to verify immediate availability, we can typically find a Memphis plumber who can be at your door within a few hours, even for 24-hour emergencies.
Do you have plumbers familiar with older homes in Midtown and Downtown?
Yes. Our network includes experienced Memphis professionals who specialize in the unique challenges of historic plumbing, including working with delicate clay and cast iron pipes common in the city's older districts.
Why shouldn't I just use a chemical drain cleaner from the store?
In Memphis, many clogs are caused by heavy tree roots or thick grease. Chemical cleaners are often too weak to clear these and can actually damage older pipes. A professional cleaning is a safer, more permanent solution.
Is hydro-jetting recommended for Memphis homes?
Hydro-jetting is highly effective for Memphis residents dealing with recurring grease clogs from cooking or those with significant tree root issues. It cleans the pipe walls much more thoroughly than a standard snake.
What if my drain backs up during a weekend or holiday?
We specialize in 24-hour availability verification. We will call through our Memphis network to find a technician who is on-call and ready to assist you, regardless of the time or day.
