Top Rated Plumbers in Raleigh
Westover Plumbing LLC
5211 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27606, USA
(919) 532-6676We had an emergency sewer backup at our rental home and Westover Plumbing responded quickly after being contacted by our property management company. Glen was very sympathetic and made sure someone came out the same day. Chris arrived promptly, was friendly and professional and cleared the blockage efficiently. Really appreciate their fast and caring service!
1 week agoIf you have plumbing needs, you’ve come to the right place. I had a drain valve in my hot water snap while I was trying to replace it and 80 gallons of water started to rush into my garage. I had to press a hose against it to drain most of it into the yard but was left with a flooded spot and water leaking from the cold water shutoff valve. I called Saturday night at 11:00 PM and Glen answered within 2 rings. He said he’d get me squared away. Since most of the damage had been done and my tank was just slightly leaking, he advised me to wait until Monday to avoid an after hours fee. Monday morning Glen came personally to check out my situation and acted fast recommending a whole new unit since mine was aging and rusted from years of leaky valves. By noon Glen must’ve sent his best two guys because Kyle and Jake were in my driveway ready to demo and install. After 6 hours of hard work they pulled out of my driveway leaving me with a spotless worksite and a brand new tankless water heater. I can’t say enough about Westover plumbing. If I ever have any plumbing needs again they’ll be the first people I call.
9 months agoWhen my old 50-gallon gas water heater finally needed replacement (evidenced by the water I discovered all over my garage one morning), the company that had been servicing me (not Westover) sent over the smarmiest sales guy you can imagine (we shall refer to him as Mr. Smarmy going forward). Mr. Smarmy decided I was an easy target for a chunky commission, but he couldn't break down his company's fixed price for the replacement or tell me whether the suggested new unit's BTU rating was equal to or better than my older unit (it wasn't) because the picture he'd quickly taken of my old unit was blurry and he couldn't be bothered to get up and verify. Naturally I sent him on his way and called around looking for competitive quotes. I got three other quotes. Of those, Westover won my business by skipping the sales nonsense. Glen from Westover asked the right questions and worked with me on the quote details. We landed on an after-tax quote that beat Mr. Smarmy's original pre-tax quote by $600 with a more efficient water heater than Mr. Smarmy was trying to sell me. It was equal to or better than my old water heater in every way. Glen's people came to install it the next day. They arrived a bit early to scout the installation site and take measurements before heading out to buy the new unit. When the new unit's exhaust pipe was just a bit longer than the old, they worked with me on its placement to minimize the area taken up in my garage, which I really appreciated. They had the whole project done about 3 hours after they began and the new water heater has been working wonderfully since then! Thanks to Glen and his team for a great experience.
1 month agoModern Plumbing and Backflow
313 Sherwee Dr, Raleigh, NC 27603, USA
(919) 341-1911I almost never write reviews for companies but as a former contractor, I feel the need to comment on the unprofessional manner in which my service was handled. Not only was the plumber unable to repair my clog he left my tub in a worse state than when he arrived, he disassembled my overflow assembly to work on the drain which he left completely disassembled. Not only did he not reassemble my tub when I went to check on the work after they left I found that they had scuffed my wall up and did not mention that to me. Overall the experience was horrible, one I would never wish upon any homeowner or renter please avoid this unprofessional establishment!
2 months agoOutstanding service from start to finish!! My techs Caleb & Chandler went above and beyond to make sure my water heater was covered by Duke Energy. We have the protection plan through them. Caleb was extremely through and explained everything to us. It is rare to find someone that will go the extra mile. Lets not forget the incredible office staff. Every time I have needed to call they are the sweetest ladies!! We are grateful! We will be customers for life!! UPDATE!!! Nate & Riko installed our beautiful new water heater today, 2/4. They called on the way installed and cleaned everything up like they were never there. Very nice and respectful young men!! Trust me when I say if you have a plumbing need call them!! See our before and after pictures :)
1 month agoWhat I liked about the service, the techs Nate and Chandler, did an assessment on December 26, on December 28, Modern Plumbing dispatcher called me to setup a time for December 29th to replace my water heater. The turn around was great. Due to the holidays I felt like the company had our best interest at heart. The tech walked me through how to use the shut off valves etc if need arise. They were professional also they cleaned up after the job was completed. That is why I gave them a five star rating. Modern Plumbing please Keep up the great customer service Sincerely one happy customer!
2 months agoJ. R. Lane Plumbing Co.
805 Sunnybrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610, USA
(919) 231-1388I had a persistent issue with a blocked toilet and decided to call JR Lane Plumbing based on recommendations. I was not disappointed. Jane promptly arranged for a plumber to come out the same day and kept me informed about their arrival. The plumbers were professional and worked diligently to clear the blockage. They ensured the toilet was functioning correctly and provided valuable tips to prevent future issues. I truly appreciated their expertise and helpful advice.
6 months agoI genuinely cannot say enough good things about Lane Plumbing. If you’re looking for a plumber who will give you an honest assessment and do everything they can to fix your plumbing issue in the most cost-efficient way possible—call Lane Plumbing! From the first call (on a Sunday, no less), I spoke to an actual human (Mr. Lane) and not an AI bot or answering machine. Within five minutes of talking with Mr. Lane, he identified what he believed to be the issue and walked me through a potential fix. During the service call, Daniel was extremely helpful and thorough. He answered all of my questions and gave me a clear picture of the next steps for addressing my issue. Mr. Lane and his team were exceptional from start to finish. Lane Plumbing will be my go-to plumber from now on!
3 months agoMy wife and I used Lane Plumbing to replace our water line after finding a leak that had cost us a ton in water bills. We were drawn to their non-invasive water line boring technology because the leak was located in the middle of our front yard. The Lane Plumbing crew, led by Robert, was great and easy to work with. They educated me on the work they were doing and went out of their way to make sure I was pleased with the service.

3205 N Main St, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, USA
(919) 446-1323We had an emergency septic pipe break and reached out to Chad for assistance. We will now be customers for life! Chad & the team were responsive, reasonable priced, extremely knowledgeable and great to work with. He was patient and calm when we were frantic / worried. We are so happy with their work and will definitely share their contact details with others!
4 months agoCalled at 4:30pm on a Thursday to schedule someone to help investigate why my kitchen sink, shower & washing machine couldn’t drain properly. 2 guys showed up the next morning at 8am (they were scheduled between 8am-9am) and promptly identified the issue. Had the issues repaired and working within 3 hours. Very happy with the service provided, but the price was a little higher than I expected.
3 months agoJohn G. and the gentleman who was with him were ABSOLUTELY wonderful! From the beginning (calling their office) to the end, we had a fantastic experience with this company. Pricing was very far too compared to other quotes. I was happy to pick a family owned company, and they were so kind & professional. No high pressure sales like most companies. We will definitely continue to use them for years to come.
1 month agoPlumbV Inc.
2401 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713, USA
(919) 378-0292Great communication and kind service. Fabian helped me with my shower drain — very professional and taught me how to upkeep it in the future. Only reason for 4 stars is I was told a lower price for a water heater flush add-on service, not knowing it was the price with a subscription instead of a one-service fee… felt uneasy about that
1 month agoPlumbV Provided great service and got to us quickly as well. Their technician came out on time to diagnose the problem, and they were able to install a new water heater within 24 hours. They offered great communication throughout and I will certainly use them again for any plumbing needs.
4 weeks agoTechnician Fabian Munoz Martinez responded quickly to fix a gas leak at my home today. He was efficient, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly so I understood what was happening. Really appreciated his thorough work and clear communication. Highly recommend!
1 month agoARC Plumbing
2406 Waco Commercial Ct, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, USA
(919) 888-3500I hired ARC Plumbing for a full sewer line replacement (cleanout to city tap), and overall the experience was very positive and professional. The total cost was about $6,000, which was very fair and significantly lower than quotes from large national chains for comparable or better scope. From a technical standpoint, the team did an excellent job. They confirmed the diagnosis with a camera inspection, explained the issue clearly, and replaced the entire sewer lateral (about 50 ft) to establish proper slope. They even lowered the city connection to ensure a clean, continuous fall. The crew was large, efficient, and clearly experienced — at times there were 8+ people on site, and they worked a very long day to get everything done right. They handled unexpected issues well (sprinkler line and gas line in the trench), took care to test systems before closing things up, and explained what they were doing throughout the process. Even though landscaping was excluded from the contract, they went the extra mile and came back to rake, clean, and seed, which I really appreciated. One area for improvement: after the replacement, I expected a final camera inspection to verify the result. The on-site team initially told me this would be done, but later I had to debate this with someone else who was not initially involved. That discussion was uncomfortable, and in my view a post-repair camera check should be non-negotiable for a sewer replacement of this scale — it’s something the contractor should want to verify anyway. To ARC’s credit, they did perform the camera inspection and water tests in the end, and everything checked out. I ultimately gave 5 stars because of the overall quality of the work, value, and professionalism, but the camera debate nearly made this a 4-star review. With clearer internal alignment on post-installation verification, ARC would be outstanding across the board.
1 month agoWe've had ARC out to our house for several issues and they are always quick, professional, and informative! Today we had Clay, Chris, Noah, and Cam all working on our sewer line, and they did an amazing job! ARC will always be the first people we call with plumbing issues!
3 months agoARC Plumbing completely saved us from having no hot water at Christmas with guests in town! Two days before Christmas, my husband noticed a strange sound and then water leaking from our old water heater. We called ARC right away, and they immediately understood the urgency, especially with the holidays and family visiting. They rearranged their schedule and made it out to us that same day. We are so grateful for their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to getting the job done quickly and skillfully. Highly recommend ARC Plumbing!

(919) 300-0092I was really impressed with the service and care I received from Unlimited Plumbing! They came out on a Saturday for a main line backup- no extra cost for a weekend!!, walked me through the entire process and helped me w a plan to fix it. Work is all done and I couldn’t be happier. Price was great too considering it was a main line fix. Andrew was spectacular to work with and the crew including Yede was amazing, friendly and helpful.
1 month agoUnlimited Plumbing responded in less than 24 hours. The technician, Jonathan arrived on time and was professional and courteous. He diagnosed and remedied my plumbing issue quickly. I will definitely use them for future projects.
1 month agoAndrew was phenomenal! I was able to get a same day booking. Andrew took care of a bunch of things for us and was able to diagnose a noise we had been hearing from one of our pipes. We will be requesting him personally when we need a plumber from now on.
1 month agoProvidence Plumbing of the Carolinas LLC
112 Ogletown Ct, Holly Springs, NC 27540, USA
(919) 205-5922Michael and Tyler replaced a 30+ year old water softener with a bigger and better system. They tested my well water and recommended a UV light system. While they were doing the replacement, they noticed a small water leak on my main line coming in. A very helpful find and repair. They were very professional and pleasant to have do the work. I recommend them.
4 months agoProvidence Plumbing is a very small company with one owner and his sister who helps with the business. We had no water for 2 days. I called two other plumbers and the wait was 2-3 days. I called Providence, and they came out the same day between 5-7 pm. He was able to fix the issue and did not pressure us to buy a new heat pump although ours is close to 20 years old. He quoted us a price for a new water heater and said to call him when ours gives out or when we have the money. He also offered financing. He was very polite and friendly. We will definitely contact Providence when we need any plumbing service!
2 months agoI had an issue with my shower where the water wouldn’t shut off, and I called Providence Plumbing late in the evening. Michael Adams arrived very quickly, which I truly appreciated given the timing. I’ve had to call several plumbing companies in the past, and this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Michael was extremely professional, reasonably priced, and took the time to explain exactly what the issue was before fixing it. I will absolutely be calling Providence Plumbing again in the future. I can’t thank Michael enough for his excellent service! He was Five Star!

2 months agoNed came and fixed an issue we had with a water pipe. He was able to identify the issue, fix it quickly and even offered some advice for other things. Price was 100% worth it considering the damage it could’ve caused if he couldn’t fix it. Highly recommend
1 year agoBig Dawg’s Plumbing Services
5540 Centerview Dr Ste 204 PMB 96204, Raleigh, NC 27606, USA
(919) 805-0206Michael was absolutely amazing! He came out next day to fix our frozen pipes that busted in a few places. He was very knowledgeable and so so nice. Michael was very efficient and fixed our pipes no problem. This was a difficult job as the way our pipes and house is set up is very different than most homes. However he had no problem getting it done. For what we had fixed he was very reasonable priced and even gave us a military discount. I highly recommend Michael with Big Dawgs plumbing services!
1 month agoHoped to fix rather than replace my water heater to save money. Michael said he thought the problem should be covered by the warranty. After he made several phone calls, he ended up getting approval for warranty replacement from the company which initially denied that it met their eligibility criteria. I am so surprised and grateful!!! I had not even thought about checking the warranty myself. I will definitely call again for any plumbing needs and I highly recommend Big Dawgs if you’re looking for a company that really cares to provide the best service to their customers with professionalism, knowledge, efficiency and skill. Outstanding! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️+
1 month agoGreat plumbing service. I called this plumbing service first thing this morning. We’re here within less than two hours very friendly very dependable. Great pricing fixed the issue. Highly recommend to anyone that needs plumbing services.

Common Drain Issues in Raleigh
Oak Tree Root Intrusion: Raleigh's massive, iconic oak trees have sprawling root systems that are notorious for infiltrating older sewer lines in search of moisture, leading to frequent backups in neighborhoods like Hayes Barton and Five Points.
NC Red Clay Soil Shifting: The heavy red clay common throughout Wake County can shift significantly during our wet springs and dry summers. This movement often causes 'bellied' pipes or offset joints where debris easily catches and forms clogs.
Humidity and Bio-Growth: North Carolina's intense summer humidity can accelerate the growth of organic matter inside drains. In Raleigh's older plumbing systems, this buildup can create slow-moving drains that eventually lead to complete blockages.
Hard Water Mineral Scale: While Raleigh's municipal water is high quality, older residential piping in the area can still suffer from mineral scale buildup over decades, narrowing the diameter of your pipes and making them prone to snagging hair and grease.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Raleigh
Post-Spring Rain Check: After Raleigh's heavy spring downpours, check your basement and crawlspace floor drains. Saturated soil can cause minor shifts that impact how your lowest drains perform.
Summer Root Maintenance: During the peak of the NC growing season, tree roots are most active. If you have an older property near Pullen Park or Mordecai, consider a preventative camera inspection to catch root intrusion early.
Fall Leaf Management: Keep your outdoor area drains and patio outlets clear of falling oak leaves. Raleigh's autumn foliage can quickly cover grates, leading to localized flooding during late-season thunderstorms.
Winter Freeze Preparation: While Raleigh winters are generally mild, the occasional hard freeze can stress pipes. Ensure your outdoor spigots are disconnected to prevent pressure backups that can damage indoor drain joints.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Raleigh
Typical Raleigh drain cleaning costs depend on the severity of the clog, its location (sink vs. main line), and the technology required, such as motorized snaking or high-pressure hydro-jetting.
