Expert Drain Cleaning in Portage, IN

Purchased a house late last year with a negative sewer scope as part of the home inspection and no disclosures on sewer or plumbing dysfunction from the sellers. We experienced water in the laundry room 3 times within the first few months of living there before realizing the sewer was backing up through the floor drain. Called Young Plumbing to diagnosis it. They determined the main sewer line was clogged and needed to be routed. They cleared the blockage but could not find the reason as to why it occurred. I naturally had some questions, given no cause was found, no issues were disclosed, and a negative sewer scope was performed only a few months ago. I was also curious as to what ways I could manage this to ensure it would not happen again. I was met with shrugs, confusion, “hard to say”s, and “not sure”s from the Young plumbers. Well a few short months later there is more water in the laundry room as ever. I attempted to allow Young plumbing to rectify any missteps, to which I was simply greeted with “our warranty is 30 days so any further service would be new and fully charged.” I went through a new plumbing company, who successfully routed the line and was able to find the tree root occlusion causing these backups. They not only found the reason for my issue, but also offered solutions and answered all my questions, including helping me to prepare for potential litigation with the home inspection who deemed my sewer clear and the sellers who did not disclose a surely know issue. Had I continued with Young Plumbing, who knows how much more money I’d be out and how much more damage my new home may have been subjected to. To show how much I would not recommend their services, the Young plumbers could not correctly tell me the sewer line ran to my front yard, instead telling me it went out the back… Writing this review to save someone else’s time and money. Learn from my mistake. Find someone else.

Justin and Tanner provided phenomenal service, they went above and beyond on multiple occasions for both emergency situations and regular maintenance. We rent, and often we feel like we aren’t included or informed when the property management company books contractors to complete repairs. We have never had this experience with Young. We receive a phone call when the workers are on their way, and when they have arrived. They have always arrived within the window schedules. All communication with Young has been great, but communication with Justin and Tanner was exceptional. They were clear about what work was being done, so kind and understanding, and transparent with the entire process. Highly recommend.

Justin and Tanner did an excellent job repairing and replacing old parts for one of our toilets. Justin has been here before and I recommend him for all your plumbing needs. Tanner was very professional and joined Justin in completing the job in record time. They left the area clean and treated our home with respect. I hope Young managers and owners recognize these two professionals for a job that exceeded our expectations!

The owner 1st off is so professional! I had to have him rod my sewer and install new piping in my rental home. He was done in a matter of hours. Then I had him to install my shower and run the pipes for my new shower system he did a beautiful job. Then he recommend me a beautiful whirlpool tub that he installed. Only to find out it had a crack in it. He removed the tub took it back to the store. He had them to give me a new one (at no charge) and he came back and reinstalled my new tub. Did not charge me anything extra for doing it either. Made sure his workers respected my home when they were coming back and forth out my home. He did a grand job!

Collin the owner of Hours plumbing came out to fix my clogged sewer line. They were able to rod out the drain which was in a very unusual and cramped spot that 2 other companies said could not be done and the other companies wanted to charge me a lot more. Hours did the work quickly and efficiently and most important professionally. I would definitely use them again for all my plumbing needs.

I called this company to do an estimate of re-piping a house I was buying. I sent my realtor across town to let him into the residence. The guy said he would send me an estimate. He never did. I called and spoke with him, I told him I am waiting on his estimate to make my offer on the home, with costs considered. He said he would email it. He never did. I called and texted and called for weeks with no answer and no return call. I almost lost the house to another bidder due to him lying and ghosting me. If he did not want the work or it was too big a job for him to handle, he should have told me so that I could have had a reliable company go out and do an estimate. Instead he left me waiting and waiting while he ignored my calls. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional!

We initially had a different plumbing company come out to take a look at our clogged drain. Weirdly enough they didn’t have the proper equipment and recommend Downing Plumbing. Sooo thankful! Always, always, always go with Downing Plumbing first. Chad came out same day not even an hour after our call. He explained everything he planned on doing before he started, while he was working and even after the job was completed. He answered all of our questions without any annoyance. Chad told us to watch the drain and if anything happens to call them and they’ll be back as soon as possible. The job was completed, but a few hours later we had the same issue. We called back, left a message, received an immediate call back and scheduled for first thing the next morning. Chad came back this time with some assistance from Tyler. Both gentlemen explained the plan and got to work. They completed the job and told us exactly what happened for the issue to have come up again. We’re all hopeful that it’s resolved and shouldn’t need them to come back anytime soon. This was all in all a great experience from Dawn in scheduling to Chad and Tyler in labor. Call Downing Plumbing first. You truly won’t need anyone else.

Our tub drain broke completely off. We called another plumber that came out and didn’t seem too confident with the repair so we called Downing. Dawn answered and had Bob come out right away. Even though she said they may not be able to do the repair today they’d come have a look. Bob came out and did the repair today, quick and was extremely professional. I’ll never call another plumber again. Bob is the man!!!

As a peculiar and a bit quick needy individual, I wanted the work done, immediately. Bob from Downing, showed probably in less than 40 minutes of my calling. I was delighted to hear the sound of a knock at my door. Bob was pleasantly down to earth and plain spoken. We had two jobs, and he completed them in less than an hour. He is easily well-trained with Downing's price reasonably affordable. Tried tackling the job initially myself but so glad I called in his expertise. If plumbing or any repairs are needed in our home, Downing is our go to. Thank you, Downing Plumbing and Bob!

Another company failed to show up, I called Plumbing Paramedics at 9pm, Austin one of their plumbers came at 11pm. He was thorough and honest cleaned out sixty feet of my main sewer line when most would not show up at all! They are coming back tomorrow with a jetter as the clog was too much for a standard sewer auger. Best part is the charges for the rodding will be credited to the charge for getting. Once again they showed up! Austin came back today and finished the job as promised. He worked diligently untill my main sewer line was opened. He found a clog on the inside line after clearing the outside main, Austin removed the toilet and cleared that too! He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of his trade and professional in his demeanor. Plumbing Paramedics Great Job! Wish I could give you all 10 stars, The quality of an employee is indicative of a professional company. Thank you once again.

We had Four seasons come out to root our sewer a couple months before calling the Plumbing Paramedics, the guy who came out didn’t really answer my questions or any really satisfactory information and seemed like he rushed the job, then quoted us 12k in work because he didn’t think he’d be able to make any difference with the rooter. Thankfully I found the Paramedics because after they sent Dakota out he pretty quickly figured to try rooting from the other end of the line (which the other company had neglected to do) and had it cleaned out in no time. I was very pleased to find a company with integrity and transparency in this day and age

Michelle, who answered the phone on Saturday morning was friendly, quick, and efficient. She dispatched Austin to my house who promptly texted to let me know he was on his way. He came in to my home and was Polite and quickly assessed the situation and made the necessary repair. I was so happy to pay a local business and not a large nationwide chain

This is the pace to call for all plumbing needs (especially if you live in Gary because none of the other companies service Gary at all, despite what the websites say)! It was an emergency (last minute) sewer line back up and they came out within 30 minutes. The price was very reasonable. The workers were respectful and provided an excellent service! Thank you!

He's a young man that that I noticed , within 10 minutes, that is very detail oriented. Displayed patience in trying to not only address the issue but put "effort" into trying to locate and identify the issue. Needed new hot and cold boiler drains to install new washing machine cuz old ones wouldn't shut off. Called around 11 a.m. and they showed about 2 p.m. I couldn't be happier with the service Tyler provided. Extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was in and out in under an hour. We had a very bothersome leak in our bathtub faucet handle due to previous homeowners, and after attempting some discovery myself, I called professionals. Sebastian and Sean managed to fix the issue, install a new, more modern shower, and fix up some old pipes in just a few hours. Price was a bit iffy, but given how much of a pain it was to get to and how big of a messy my houses previous occupants left, I was more than willing to pay someone else to suffer for me.

We had such an easy experience and install. Dave was very helpful and quick to install our hot water tank. Great company to work with and will use them again if need to be in the future. Thanks again!!

Very happy with the service provided. I contacted them on Tuesday afternoon and had a new water heater by Thursday noon. An expansion tank and new pipes were installed as well. Very professional and the best price by far. Highly recommended.

So glad I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing. I called at 8:30 in the morning and they arrived by 10 a.m. the same day. Ryan and Dave were excellent. Very professional. They revived my old water heater in no time at all, when other companies refused to even look at it because it's older than ten years. AND THE PRICING WAS VERY FAIR!!! which doesn't happen too often nowadays. I was warned that i should start saving up now for a new water heater. So thankful for their hard work, speedy repair time and professionalism. Thanks again guys. My family thanks you as well.

The technician was very helpful even explained why it happened. Got it done quickly and efficiently. Paid about 451$ for 15 minuets of roto rooting. Got the clean out running smooth. 30 day warranty as well.

I took a chance on this company for a basic kitchen sink snaking - paid the $79 service fee to secure an appointment and declined the work after the gentleman told me it would be $800 when he arrived the next day! What a racket for a 45 min/1 hour task. Posting this because they refuse to give you any indication of approximate cost when you call (like most other companies do)... I may not have posted this review, but the gentleman also tried to convince me I needed someone who has at least a 100ft line to clear my drain line, which I know is absolute B.S. In any event... if you like their work great, i simply wouldn't recommend it. Revised my review and upped to two star because they did reach out to me and appologize for the service not being a fit.

Yes! Plumbing quickly resolved an accounting issue that was an oversight on their part and refunded the club fee quickly. Customer Service is good even though I could not afford to continue with the club that they had as the pricing increased.

We had a rather complex plumbing need. We wanted to replace our kitchen sink. To do so we had to engage a counter top company to perform the sink work and a plumber to disconnect the plumbing and reinstall it once the new sink was installed. It required a coordinated effort of homeowner, counter top company and Action Plumbing. AMAZING! Action Plumbing service my senior mom's home that she has lived in since 1972. Having dementia makes getting repairs challenging. The young man, John, that came was so professional and knowledgeable. He treated us, especially mom, with so much compassion, care and patience. It made her 'comfortable' having him in her home. When John and Sam returned to complete the repairs, they both were efficient and didn't hesitate to explain to her what they were doing and why repeatedly. They listened to mom with smiles on their faces. The pricing was fair and reasonable. The service unmatched in today's day and age. The quality of work worth every penny. We are again in need of service and won't call anywhere else.
