Top Rated Plumbers in La Crosse, Wisconsin
Level Sewer and Drain
2851 Quarry Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601, USA
(608) 780-7300This business did a great job installing our new sewer line. They were responsive during off hours when we had sewage backing up in our house. We were very happy with not only the work that was done, but also the professionalism, clean up afterwards (everything was put back how they found it), timeliness, and communication. Our job was over $20k to fix and it was important we found trustworthy workers to do it!
4 months agoAbsolutely outstanding, wish I could give them a higher rating they deserve it. Big job running sewer and water 105 feet to house and removing septic tank. Start to finish 4 days flat. We had no inconveniences, they were super attentive to any concerns or request. Had a tench 10 ft deep they filled and landscaped to my satisfaction. Job came in exactly as bid. Friendly hardworking professionals, you can’t go wrong.
11 months agoNew years day we had a house full of family. Yuppp we backed up in the laundry room and basement bathroom. I called the next business day and they came and got the plug out. However they did find some cast iron sewer pipe that was decaying plus a rootball that was hindering the flow of sewage. Told me what needs to be done gave me an initial ball park figure and a few days later sent an emailed quote. I accepted! Couple weeks later they were here doing the repairs needed. Replaced the section of bad pipe and prepared the interior of the old "good" pipe. They then installed the liner to extend the life of the existing cast Iron pipe. The owners and employees were kind and professional. Of course I had to snoop around and ask questions which they answered nicely. When i returned home from work on Friday. Concrete was patched, plumbing all reassembled like they were never there! We should be good "to go" now for the rest of our time in our home. Great job guys!
4 months agoK & H Plumbing LLC
4014 Mormon Coulee Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601, USA
(608) 433-2403My main sewer line had a very stubborn blockage that K & H took care of no problem. They work swiftly and thoroughly to ensure good work for a fair price. I recommend them to everyone I know.
3 months agoWe had K&H do all the plumbing work for our extensive bathroom remodel, and they were absolutely great to work with. They were knowledgeable, reasonably priced, very responsive, and always quick to answer any questions we had. They even made last-minute arrangements to come a day earlier than we had them scheduled to ensure we had water back on in the rest of the house. On top of that, they moved our washer and dryer back into the bathroom after the remodel without being asked, which really showed they are willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommend.
3 months agoUnless you’ve been in my shoes, no one can imagine the dread of waking up after the coldest night of the season so far, to frozen water pipes in my mobile home. And on a weekend, no less. After calling almost every plumbing business in the area with no results, I was able to make contact with Shannon at K&H Plumbing and he immediately put my mind at ease and promised that he and Matthew would be here despite their heavy workload for this day. They arrived before noon and assured me they would get results because after nine weekend appts they hadn’t failed yet. It took a while but Shannon came in the house periodically to explain what they were doing and how I can avoid this from happening again. When my water began running I was elated. Afterward, both of these men cleaned up their gear and put my skirting back on perfectly. I want to recommend K&H Plumbing to EVERYONE who needs help NOW! These men are priceless and so appreciated! Their work ethic is unmatched. Thank you Shannon and Matthew for your excellent work! Very sincerely, Gabriele Volten
4 months agoNiebuhr Plumbing & Heating
1700 16th St S, La Crosse, WI 54601, USA
(608) 782-1700We’ve used these guys several times over the years and they’re always the first ones we call to replace or update things and when we have leaks or clogs. They are so quick and responsive when calling and always have time to run out to us in Holmen to get things taken care of quickly and correctly. Last night, 12.23, I left a panicked voicemail at 9pm asking to have someone come out on 12.24 to fix our clogged sink and dishwasher. Jess diligently called me back at 6:45am on Christmas Eve and sent two guys out to our house by 7:30am. They fixed our drain and were done in less than an hour. Big shout out to Jess for how happy and helpful she always is when I call and for the rest of the team for always treating us right.
5 months agoWe had Niebuhr replace our water heater, and would highly recommend them. After the initial installation, we realized the first unit wasn’t quite large enough for our household. Instead of treating it like a problem, the staff at Niebuhr worked with us to find the right solution. They were responsive, understanding, and went above and beyond to make sure we ended up with the proper size and were completely satisfied. A big thank you to Zeb and ownership! It’s clear they truly care about their customers. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing plumbing or heating services.
3 months agoWe have had 2 plumbing appointments with Niebuhr Plumbing and I am absolutely amazed with their work and friendliness. I highly recommend them. We need more businesses like them. When making the initial appointment the receptionist was so kind & very friendly. When the plumbers arrived they greeted me with a smile and went above and beyond. They were super friendly and I felt comfortable with them right away. They gave me a lot of useful advice and information and they finish the work in a timely manner. Thank you so much. I will definitely be recommending to everyone I know.
5 months agoMelde Plumbing, LLC
624 Amy Dr, Holmen, WI 54636, USA
(608) 317-7118I called on a Sat and got an Appointment Monday AM. Unfortunately and fortunately, my issue was just a clogged drain due to a toy. As far as I know the issue is resolved and I guess it didn't cost me too much. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the price. Times are tough, not their fault though.
5 months agoTheir team was on time , tidy, professional as well as personable. They had no hidden agenda to up sell me like other well known plumbing companies. Didn’t charge a $99 dollar trip charge. Below is my old water heater and the second is the installed one. You can see how they had to reconfigure the new setup from the old set up.
8 months agoI had a great first experience with Melde Plumbing. I called mid-afternoon about a leaking water heater, and by before noon the next day it was already replaced. The technicians were professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up everything when they finished. I’ll definitely call Melde again for future plumbing needs. Highly recommend!
3 months agoAdvanced Plumbing Systems, LLC
1416 Caledonia St, La Crosse, WI 54603, USA
(608) 796-9978I wanted to provide an update on my initial review. I did have an issue with the initial work done where I still had a leak in my hot water line. As soon as I reached out on Google, I received a call from Bob with Advanced Plumbing. We talked through a solution where the initial work done was not sufficient, so that the initial costs we incurred would go towards the additional work that was needed. We decided that since our pipes were so old, that replacing all of our old cooper pipes would be the best way forward. They sent a great team to get the work done as quickly as possible. Over the course of three days, Jeremiah and Lucas made sure to replace all our cooper pipes. They also replaced some of our drain pipes as they were in need of repair as well. They were incredibly professional and provided me updates each step of the way. We also had them replace a couple of faucets in our house as we negotiated a fair price for all the work done. I want to emphasize that though the initial work was not sufficient, they more than made up with it with their continuous service. My home is very old and it was a difficult job to replace so much. I want to thank Jeremiah and Lucas again for their hard work. I also wanted to call out Bob who was very responsive to our needs and made sure that we felt like valued customers. I would recommend them to anyone who needs some plumbing services.
3 months agoUpdate 2: Bob came out was attentive to each detail and gave me his honest suggestions. He made notes and provided exactly what I was asking for in detailed format letting me know if impaired things together to do certain things it would save me $. I really appreciate the job that Bob does and can now make a better informed decision based on the information he provided. Thank you Bob for taking the time to redo this, to acknowledge the mistakes and take actions to change that! Hopefully future gets better! Talk soon 1st post: This is the second time I have called for something that they stated a time to come quote. Then Jeremy calls you right before the appointment to ask what you need done when that info was given at the time of the appointment. 1st time They were late showing up had to call to find out and oh they are coming soon… even though I got no warning from Jeremy anyone was late the 1/2 before the appt time. Then person comes out I go over a to. Of information and ask that they write this down so that I can get a breakdown on the quote to know what I can afford and what’s priority for finishing a whole basement with the budget I have. Afterwards Jeremy who wasn’t even here calls me to ask more questions and explain what he’s thinking. I again ask for a breakdown of the cost and I got a “roughing out a bathroom and laundry downstairs” quote … FYI our bathroom is already roughed out, drain, pipes, etc we need a hot line added for sink, hot and cold for laundry, AND we needed the kitchenette area completely roughed out. I wasted an extra hr waiting for them to show up, an hour to explain to a kid who didn’t pay attention, then explain again to a guy on the phone whom seemed clueless and still didn’t do what was asked for a quote. Then my mistake was forgetting they were who they were this last time and when I looked up trade allies for focus on energy I just went down the list. I called explained I need a heat pump water heater wondering quotes, said they needed to come out for this. Set up an appointment for 10 am I got a call again from Jeremy at 9:40 am asking what I was looking for and I immediately remembered his voice and explained again what I needed and thought well I’ll add the project since it’s BOB coming out this time. He in the past was the best. Explained it it’s now 5 mins to the appointment time and you would assume someone would say they are arriving late if they were… at 10:42 I called to ask again, state that I spoke to Jeremy, she tried to transfer me to him and then talked to him herself. He said Bob will be there shortly which I took to mean in less than 5 mins because I have an appointment at 11:15. Nope 11:02 I called to cancel and they girl said oh he said he would be there shortly… clearly not short enough. I live in Galesville about a 20 minute drive from their office. Now I have wasted a whole other hour, time off my work to have to wait all morning for a no show/who knows when they would actually show up. The unprofessionalism is sad, the fact I need to repeat my project 3-4 xs to get a quote is unacceptable and to still not get what you are then asking for multiple times is also unacceptable. There is no way to know what you quote is even for when you say “roughing out a bathroom and laundry” so I would likely have to explain it all again to even know they are doing just what I want done. For reference I have added the already roughed out bathroom photo(THEY DID NOT DO THE WORK THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS BEFORE THEIR QOUTE.) And the not roughed out kitchen area in hopes the owner of this company sees this and realizes the crappy job your employees are doing and why you likely aren’t getting a ton of business outsides of this recent uptick for IRA stuff. For the minimal amount needed in the bathroom and laundry area to be $2800 is ridiculous and not have it broken out as asked is even more problematic. We won’t be calling again I have now changed the contact in my phone to dnc always late and never follows directions
6 months agoVery fast and polite service. We had a back drain from previous tenants. It’s was also filled with roots. We set up an appointment they were out first in the morning cleared it all out. Plus gave us some helpful tips and products to help keep the drains clear. Will definitely recommend and us again.
3 months agoEvery Plumbing & Heating, Inc.
110 Riders Club Rd, Onalaska, WI 54650, USA
(608) 783-2803Great service, good prices, and phenomenal customer support. Have worked with them several times. Had a drain backup that needed snaked, an under the slab pipe repair and a water softener installation. Taylor is great. He came out on his lunch break the day after installing my water softener to run me through how to use it. At times, getting on the schedule can take a bit, but it worth it for the work they do and the way they take care of their customers.
10 months agoJeff and Patty did an outstanding job coordinating their efforts to make the plumbing in the house, more efficient and cost-effective in the long run, while installing hook-ups for two refrigerators.
6 months agoCraig and his crew were so great to work with. The communication was prompt, the work was quality, and all of the employees were kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We're very happy with our experience with Every Plumbing and will definitely use them again in the future!
1 year agoAble Plumbing Pump & Well
W6295 Co Rd D, Holmen, WI 54636, USA
(608) 797-0877Overcharged me DOUBLE going rate. According to 3 other local plumbers i called for quote after the fact... I regret calling Able for my pressure tank.
1 year agoThey did come the day I called. But the cost of $2,580.73. They ran into problems with the new unit with none of there doing but must have felt that I should pay for that problem. Was told that it could be up to $2,000 at most??? And the bill did not break down the the cost of unit and labor??? And was told that they don't do that and that the bill is the bill!!!!!!!
5 years agoVery overpriced. Would not recommend. Do your searching before calling able. Charged for trip labor and diagnostics but hardly did anything.
1 year agoMaxwell-White Plumbing
W3032 County Rd B, West Salem, WI 54669, USA
(608) 200-2646Joe and Brendon arrived on time and quickly got to work at cleaning out our sewer line. They were here for about 2 hours and when they left you would have never known they were even here. They cleaned up so well after they completed their job. Joe explained and showed us what the line looked like before they left as well. What an awesome group of people. This company goes well out of their way to do an exceptional job. Ben was the first person to come and open the sewer line, and he as well as Joe and Brendon were really great people to work with. As a company you should be very pleased that these men are your employees. And if you are looking for a great company to do any kind of plumbing or remodeling your bathroom or frankly whatever you need this is the company you want. Thank you to Maxwell White for always being there when we need you and for the outstanding work and awesome employees.
3 months agoWe had to do a water heater replacement. We had used Maxwell White in the past for a couple other repairs and were happy. Today we had Billy & Joe here to replace the water heater. We first got a call from Brittney in their office letting us know they were on the way. They came to the door and introduced them selves and confirmed the service order before starting any work. I asked to confim price of which they were able to do quickly. They wore shoe protector pull overs to prevent tracking. Together we evaluated the best door to take out the old and bring in the new water heater. After completing install they covered the Bradford White warranty terms and let us know the office had already registered the water heater. I liked that they put a sticker on the water heater indicating it had been installed by Maxwell-White and the date. If you shop around you may find a better price but good communication from the office staff, good service technicians and a company you know will be here if you have problems down the road certainly has value. Thanks Guys!
4 months agoTyler installed a water softener and did an excellent job. The space was limited and he put in a square salt tank that was a perfect fit for my space. He is polite and friendly and I felt safe and comfortable with him in my home. The last visit was with Jordan and he too was awesome!

6 months agoWe had a major water issue at our small business and they were there within 30 minutes of our call. They understood the urgency, the plumber was very professional, efficient, and friendly. We will not go anywhere else. This is the type of response needed in an emergency-thank you!
11 months agoI’ve had two pretty big plumbing issues on my rental property in the last year or so. Called and got quotes from most plumbers in town, these guys were most affordable. Their work was done quickly and professionally. Really appreciate their customer service and will continue to use them anytime plumbing issues arise. Kris the owner has been real helpful and does honest work. Thanks.

(608) 780-0035Matt came to fix a pipe that was leaking into my basement. He came on a Saturday, just after a HUGE snow storm. The roads had not been plowed and the temperatures were sub-below. I was surprised that he was willing to come out with the weather the way it was, but he did. Matt was professional, courteous and explained everything very clearly. He got the job done quickly. Afterwards, he exceeded my expectations when he followed up with me to ensure that the problem had not repeated itself. Wow! I will recommend his services to all my friends. If I could give him a higher rating than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Great job Matt!
9 months agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in La Crosse, Wisconsin
Living in the Coulee Region means dealing with unique plumbing demands, from the historic charm of homes near the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to the newer developments stretching toward the bluffs. When a drain clogs, you don't have time to call a dozen different companies only to find out they are booked out for weeks. Our service changes the way La Crosse residents find help by doing the heavy lifting for you.
We maintain a dedicated network of certified plumbers across the city and surrounding areas. Instead of a generic directory, we use your specific zip code to find the closest available experts. Most importantly, we actually pick up the phone and call these professionals to verify they are available to handle your specific drain emergency today. This ensures that when we connect you, you are speaking to a pro who is ready to head to your door immediately.
Common Drain Issues in La Crosse, Wisconsin
Mississippi River Sediment: Proximity to the river and the local water table can sometimes lead to unique silt and sediment issues in older La Crosse drainage systems, causing sluggish flow that requires professional flushing.
Historic Piping Challenges: Many homes in the Washburn and Cass-King neighborhoods feature aging cast iron or clay pipes. These systems are highly susceptible to interior scaling and structural fatigue, requiring a knowledgeable hand to clean without causing damage.
Invasive Bluff-Side Root Growth: The beautiful, mature trees that define the La Crosse landscape often have aggressive root systems. These roots frequently find their way into sewer line joints, creating stubborn blockages that standard consumer-grade drain cleaners can't touch.
Hard Water Mineral Buildup: Like much of Wisconsin, La Crosse deals with hard water. Over years, calcium and magnesium deposits can narrow the diameter of your pipes, making it significantly easier for hair, soap scum, and food waste to create a total obstruction.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for La Crosse, Wisconsin
Winter Pipe Protection: With La Crosse's sub-zero winter temperatures, ensure your main sewer line is clear of debris before the ground freezes. Slow drains are more likely to freeze solid, leading to catastrophic backups during a cold snap.
Spring Runoff Preparation: As the snow melts off the bluffs and the Mississippi rises, your floor drains and sump pumps work overtime. Clear any winter grit from your basement drains in March to prevent indoor flooding during the spring thaw.
Summer Storm Maintenance: Heavy Midwest thunderstorms can wash significant amounts of organic debris into exterior drains. Check your window well and driveway drains after major storms to ensure they haven't become a collection point for silt and leaves.
Autumn Gutter & Downspout Care: Before the first snow, ensure your downspouts are clear. If they are connected to underground perimeter drains, a clog from falling leaves can lead to water seeping into your foundation during the next rain.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in La Crosse, Wisconsin
The cost for drain cleaning in La Crosse varies based on the location of the clog, the need for video camera inspection, and whether standard snaking or high-pressure hydro-jetting is required.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in La Crosse, Wisconsin
How do you ensure a plumber is available in my part of La Crosse?
We use your specific zip code to narrow down our network to the closest certified plumbers. We then call them directly to confirm they have an open slot in their schedule to help you today, saving you the frustration of calling around yourself.
Are your plumbers familiar with older homes in the downtown La Crosse area?
Yes, we only work with certified professionals who have extensive experience with the local infrastructure, including the specific challenges posed by the historic cast iron and clay pipes found in older La Crosse neighborhoods.
What is the most common cause of clogged drains in the Coulee Region?
A combination of invasive tree roots and hard water mineral scale are the most frequent culprits we see in La Crosse. These issues typically require professional-grade equipment like motorized augers or hydro-jetting to fully resolve.
Do you provide 24-hour emergency verification?
Absolutely. We understand that a drain emergency doesn't always happen during business hours. We scan our network for 24/7 providers in the La Crosse area and verify their current dispatch status before connecting you.
Can I get a same-day appointment for a drain cleaning in La Crosse?
Our primary goal is same-day service. By calling and filtering for availability before you ever get involved, we significantly increase your chances of having a plumber at your home within hours of your request.
