Nick came out on a Sunday because my house drains were backed up. Super guy. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He wasn’t able to fix the problem then but got us able to use our drains until the next day. He and Jason came back Monday and professionally fixed my broken pipe. They were excellent. Such personable guys and very knowledgeable. They are great guys and were very good at their job. Can’t say enough good things about these two. I have used Hill plumbing off and on over the past 24 years and always get great work.

Hill Plumbing and Air has been terrific to work with. A few years ago we got a new system and they installed it with no problem. We had only one problem until now. I came home the other day on Wednesday and the system sounded like a plane was taking off. I made a service call to them and Will came out and took a look at it and said that the motor needed to be replaced because the bearings were bad. He checked with the office and it was covered under warranty and all we had to pay for was labor. They were closed on Thursday and Friday but Will offered to come out on Friday if the motor completely failed but it held up till Monday. So today another great employee named Dray came out and replaced the motor. Didn't take him no time at all and the HVAC system purrs like a kitten now. Thank you both for fixing our problem and the prompt and great customer service you provided does not go unnoticed. Thank you again for getting us back right. You guys rock! Melanie

We had a drain blockage. The men arrived early and quickly diagnosed the problem. They had to run back to their shop to get a piece of equipment but were back in 15 minutes. They fixed our problem in less that 45 minutes. Drains are running clear and fast now. Thanks Ray and company!

Very rude and unprofessional I wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone! The man who picked up the phone has a horrible attitude and when asked questions his responses were very rude Since I can’t respond with a reply to yours you are a bold face liar. My husband called you once because we saw your truck at a red light and needed help with plumbing and asked if you gave quotes over the phone. we did not call you more then one time because of the way you answered the phone the first time we would never call you again. You can keep saying things about customers to make yourself look better but I know we only called you once. Good luck with your company.

Very unprofessional, because American Home Shield uses them they worked on my home. After constantly informing them not to discuss any repair concerns to parties that are not involved they do. Also I asked about the repairs and was provided a text with a few words. I had to contact them because they didn't contact my management company with an update, the female stated American Home Shield pays her and I had to refresh her memory that I pay the company and I pay AHS and it is my home. Please beware and I will never use them again. It doesn't matter how many people you have to speak with you should notify the owner of the home what's going on. Will not use ever again.

I had a major plumbing backup. Within a couple hours of my warranty company assigning Leak Seekers, someone was out here fixing the problem. They were very professional, and efficient. Would recommend them and use them again!

I have used your company three times through American Home Shield, and I want to start by acknowledging that your technicians have always been outstanding—professional, prompt, and efficient. However, my repeated experiences with Kaylee have been extremely frustrating and reflect poorly on an otherwise excellent team. Kaylee consistently fails to answer calls, does not return voicemails, and often ignores text messages for days. When she does respond, her tone is dismissive and unprofessional. This time, the issue is particularly urgent: On 12/10, I experienced water damage. Your technician arrived promptly and resolved the issue, which I greatly appreciate. That same day at 4:42 PM, I requested the service report needed for my homeowner’s insurance to proceed with repairs. Kaylee read the message but never responded. Today, 12/12, I still do not have the report. I followed up at 9:00 AM, and again, Kaylee read the message but did not reply. After contacting American Home Shield at 9:03 AM, they also could not reach her. At 9:16 AM, I texted Kaylee again, explaining the urgency. Her response at 9:26 AM was: “I am on vacation. I’ll send it on Tuesday thanks.” This delay is unacceptable. I cannot move forward with necessary repairs without this report, and the lack of communication is causing significant inconvenience and potential financial impact. While I appreciate your technicians’ excellent work, Kaylee’s behavior does not align with the level of service I expect from your company. I urge you to address this issue promptly and ensure that customers receive timely communication and support, especially in urgent situations.

Professional Drain Cleaning in Sumter, South Carolina

Sumter, South Carolina, known for the beautiful Swan Lake Iris Gardens and its deep military roots at Shaw Air Force Base, is a community that values efficiency and reliability. When a kitchen sink backups or a main line clogs in a historic home near downtown or a newer build in the outskirts, you don't have time to call around to see who is actually working. That’s where our specialized verification service steps in to save you time and frustration.

Our process takes the guesswork out of finding a plumber in the Gamecock City. We maintain a network of local, certified drain specialists and filter them specifically by your Sumter zip code. Instead of you spending your afternoon on hold or leaving voicemails for technicians who are already booked solid, we do the legwork—calling them to confirm they have a technician ready to head to your door right now.

Common Drain Issues in Sumter, South Carolina

Sand and Silt Infiltration: Given Sumter's geography within the Midlands, sandy soil can often find its way into older sewer lines through small cracks or joints. This causes stubborn, abrasive blockages that often require professional hydro-jetting to fully clear and restore flow.

Historic Home Plumbing: Many neighborhoods near the Sumter historic district feature aged galvanized pipes or cast iron drains. These pipes are prone to internal corrosion and scale buildup over decades, significantly narrowing the passage for wastewater and catching debris more easily.

Invasive Tree Roots: Sumter’s lush canopy, including those famous oaks and cypress trees, means root systems are constantly seeking moisture. These roots often penetrate sewer lines, leading to recurring backups that standard snakes can't fully resolve without professional intervention.

Shaw AFB Area High-Usage Drains: In high-density residential areas near the base, frequent move-ins and move-outs can lead to 'mystery clogs.' These are often caused by the improper disposal of grease or non-flushable wipes during household transitions, requiring a thorough professional cleaning to prevent main line failure.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Sumter, South Carolina

Spring Pollen and Debris: After the heavy pollen seasons in Sumter, ensure your outdoor area drains and gutters are clear. Heavy spring rains can wash accumulated debris into your basement or crawlspace drains, leading to unexpected indoor flooding.

Summer Humidity and Grease: During the humid South Carolina summers, grease in your kitchen drains can stay semi-liquid longer, traveling further into your pipes before cooling and hardening. Always scrape plates into the trash rather than using the disposal for fats and oils.

Fall Leaf Management: Before the leaves fall around the city's parks, clear any outdoor catch basins. Sumter's deciduous trees can quickly overwhelm exterior drainage systems during a late-season thunderstorm if the grates are covered in foliage.

Winter Freeze Prep: While Sumter winters are generally mild, we do experience occasional hard freezes. Insulate exposed drain lines in crawlspaces to prevent ice blockages that can lead to pressure buildup and pipe bursts during a cold snap.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Sumter, South Carolina

$145-$435

Pricing in Sumter typically depends on the severity of the clog and the equipment required. A simple sink snake starts at the lower end, while main line clearing or hydro-jetting for roots falls on the higher end.
