Have had other companies that had extreme difficulty snaking this kitchen drain. Matthew setup quickly, reviewed the options at hand, went over possible risks and made the rest look easy. He was profession, thorough and checked many other areas of plumbing sections to confirm flow that other companies have not and answered all questions I had. Left the area cleaner than it was before. Very much appreciated the service today, thank you.

My rental property had really bad sewer blockage. One company I hired tried many ways to fix it with no success. Roto-Rooter came in with very professional tools and expert solution. Really appreciate your work. You will be my first choice next time. Highly recommend.

Scheduling service with Roto-Rooter was super easy and I was able to get someone to come assist with a backed-up bathtub within 1 hour on a Sunday morning. The technician that came was Jason B. and he was honestly a saint, as the tub drain clog turned out to be a much bigger issue than expected involving a completely clogged up galvanized pipe. After trying to snake the tub drain directly and that not working, he drained the water out of the tub for us and then snaked the pipe UPWARDS from the basement which resulted in a huge mess that looked like a scene out of a horror movie... so thankful that the problem is solved (for now at least -- Jason did advise that we get the galvanized pipes replaced eventually) and overall the price of the service was well worth it. Although I initially felt it was overpriced for a simple drain cleaning, the amount of work done was absolutely worth every penny and I would absolutely ask for Jason next time I needed Roto-Rooter again in the future.

We used the Drain Smith for water line repair and excavation. Professional, trustworthy, and fair pricing! I got several quotes and the Drain Smith was the obvious choice. Plus, they got the job done fast. The best around! Highly recommend

The Drain Smith is an honest and professional company. I called them out to diagnose and clear a clogged downspout drain. After discussing options, we decided not to proceed with water jetting, and I chose to dig it up myself instead. Because the call was quick, they even reduced the price from the original quote. I really appreciate their fairness and integrity, and I would highly recommend them.

Nothing better than a clean unobstructed sink. My kitchen and bathroom sinks would not drain. Called Tom Drexler, had an apt, left early form work and they called me 45 mins after they were supposed to be there to help me and said they were busy so they would see me Monday. I was beside myself. So I called Roto-Rooter. Chad and Kenneth showed up 45 mins later and took care of a nasty clog. They were professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Those two earned a customer for life for Roto-Rooter with exceptional customer service. Today went from a bad day to a good day thanks to Roto-Rooter, Chad and Kenneth!!! 100% recommend!

Amazing work on a nasty lil job. Tight spaces and old plumbing. Donald made quick work of the issue with no disruptions to home life. Antoine was a masterful communicator and keep me informed for a few days as a master plumber was required to complete the job. Dispatch was courteous and attentive. Rotorooter showed up the day I called, the competition could only schedule me 5 days out. They are now my go to solution for plumbing needs. 5 stars all the way around!

On top of that, he was courteous and respectful of my home, leaving everything clean when he was finished. It’s such a relief to work with someone who takes pride in their work and truly cares about the customer. I highly recommend Warren to anyone in need of plumbing services—you’ll be in great hands!

We worked with John S. from Plumb Tite today for the sewer inspection for our new home. We had a great experience! The clean out was not accessible, so John explained our options. Price doubled, because we had to remove a toilet. But the other option was to make a hole in the wall. John was very thorough, explained all the results in great detail, and gave us recommendations to keep the sewer system in great condition. Would highly recommend.

We called two nights ago (Sunday night) as we had our kitchen sink back up. We tried to plunge it, used some Drain-O and no deal. I talked with the call center and asked them how much for a simple clogged drain and they won't give you even a rough estimate. Then the actual local company called and said they would have someone there in an hour. I asked repeatedly for a "ballpark" figure and they wouldn't disclose. I called a few others in the meantime and got quotes from $300-350 all inclusive. I told them IF/WHEN the guy comes out and gives us a high price, we would just have to say no and they said "np/fine". He came out and I showed it to him and he immediately quoted $480!! Then I told him TY for coming, but NO TY. Then we talked to our landlord and he scheduled someone to come on Wednesday. My wife and I continued to plunge last night and the drain CLEARED and it's 100% fine again! This "job" would have taken Roto-Rooter and/or ANY other company about 10-30 minutes maximum. With drive time included, probably 2 hours maximum. Your not attorneys or rocket scientists, so WHY charge freaking $480 for a 30 minute job Roto-Rooter! A lot of people say they got great service but also mentioned it was/is "extremely expensive". Most didn't mention actual PRICE. I am calling them out for what it is. A GIANT RIP OFF!!! Sorry but I will never call you guys ever again and maybe others will do the same thing if they read how much you ACTUALLY charge with your BS bait and switch/we'll come NOW and THEN ream you methodology? (....after seeing coporate response...here is mine.... I posted this ANONYMOUSLY as I don't need to hear from the corporate offices....like below.....acting like they have NO idea how bad they are ripping people off. We do fairly well, but I feel bad for all of the SENIORS that I am sure are getting ripped off by these guys. It's DISGUSTING! YOU KNOW you don't give quotes over the phone and then charge freaking $480 for a 10 minute job Roto-Rooter corporate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Josh did an amazing job! He was very kind and courteous! He wore boot covers and put covers on the wheels of the drain snake to make sure my floors stayed clean. He was here about an hour, and got my floor drain in the basement cleared. Fantastic service and price! Even when I scheduled them out, the lady who made my appointment was extremely nice! JJ was my advanced field tech who chauffeured me around on a ride-a-long. We went to this customers home to diag a condensers unit that was frozen over in frigid, icey conditions and although we encountered some complications like a language barrier and more we we able to defrost her system. Test her return lines and ensure her unit was safely and properly operational before we departed. Upon the departure, we notified the customer the best we could ( due to language barriers) about our visit. We packed, up cleaned up, double check and left without a trace. Thank you HELP and JJ.

My old boiler from the 50s gave out. HELP did a professional job with the new installation. Shoutout to the installers who put in a lot of work: Darren, Bryce, Tyler, and Homer. The boiler did have some initial issues. However, HELP quickly sent out one of their most knowledgeable techs, JJ Engelbert to diagnose and quickly resolve the issue. I was very happy with his thoroughness and technical knowledge. He answered all my questions, got the boiler running again and made it a very pleasant experience.

So (Jacob) came out on 2/1 . He was so professional young man took his time found out the problem fixed the leak it was a drain issue we was having . He was so patient and he had several other jobs to go but you would have thought we was it the way he made sure he resolved the issue … Great experience!! I don’t even do review but this one was well deserved 💯💯💯💯💯💯 and he cleaned up 💯

I originally had Brad come over to check my hot water heater to see if it needed replaced. After getting quotes on that, I actually had a leak in another room that I had him check while he was here. He was able to take care of the leak in just that visit, which took a lot of anxiety off of me. He then made a return visit to install a new hot water tank. The service was excellent. He was kind, he educated me and he kept the job clean the whole time. I will most definitely be a repeat customer, Not just because of the great service, But because I was able to trust the person performing the work. After being scammed in the past by other contractors, It’s nice to finally be able to say I can trust at least one.

We had a great experience with Jolly Plumbing/Drains/Heating/Air when our furnace went out overnight. They were able to get a technician to our house first thing in the morning, which we really appreciated. Jeremy & Miguel were both professional and courteous. Jeremy was especially friendly and very knowledgeable - he clearly explained what was going on and what needed to be done. They fixed and cleaned the furnace efficiently and had us warm again in no time. Excellent service all around. Highly recommend Jolly!

His attention to detail while installing the new water heater really showed and you can tell that he takes pride in his work. Tony went above and beyond for us and I would recommend him to anyone. We had water damage that led to a serious black mold issue in our crawl space, and this restoration company was absolutely outstanding. From the moment they arrived, they treated the situation with urgency and professionalism. They thoroughly inspected everything, clearly explained the risks, and walked us through each step of the water mitigation and mold remediation process so we knew exactly what to expect. The team was knowledgeable, efficient, and incredibly careful to keep the rest of our home safe and contained during the mold removal. They used proper equipment, followed safety protocols, and answered every question without rushing us. What really stood out was their honesty and attention to detail—they didn’t cut corners and made sure the job was done right. Dealing with water damage and black mold is stressful, but they made the entire experience manageable and gave us real peace of mind. The results were excellent, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone facing similar issues. Truly a trustworthy and professional restoration company. Special acknowledgments to the Jolly plumbing team that we had the pleasure of working with during this process. Crosley, Chase, Aiden and Brian. With a team like this Jolly will continue being a most successful company! Much thanks and appreciation Trinity (Jenn) Vanover.

The employee did a great job. He wore shoe protectors and thoroughly explained what he found and gave me two remedies. He was courteous, friendly and seemed vary knowledgeable about what he was doing. However, $619.28 to snake a toilet, I’ll probably use a Hispanic firm next time. I’m sure they would be more competitive in pricing for the same work

We had some pipes freeze up in her house with an urgency to be fixed so I searched Google and found Mr. Rooter. I called them up and they had somebody out within the next day which I was really surprised. Craig showed up right on time and was very professional and upfront about the cost and things that it would need going forward he went above and beyond explaining everything to me that was needed to get the water going again he had to crawl into a very small crawlspace underneath the house Which most plumbers would not even do considering the technicality in it he went under there and videotaped everything for me to show me the problems that were going on and then gave me a fair price to have everything done correctly. He spent probably over two days there working on this to get it done correctly. He went above and beyond and stayed late to get the job done and subzero temperatures. He was more concerned about me and my kids that himself. He finally got everything unfroze and new pipe was added. The price was exactly where I needed to be at when I thought it was going to be thousands. I can’t say enough about Craig in the job that he did. He is very thorough professional, and on point with his company. Communication was excellent as well with Missy. You can’t go wrong with this company. You will not be disappointed, thank you so much. This house is over 200 years old so he had really troubleshoot to fix it!

Cannot recommend this company, and specifically Esteban, enough! We had a nasty leak that started coming through our plaster ceiling. Esteban patiently provided hours of technical advice on how to get at the problem, and then expertly fixed the problem. He made the whole process painless, transparent, and understandable for us. We were immediately at ease when he started explaining the process to us. We were assuming this would be weeks and weeks of troubleshooting, but he had it fixed in a matter of hours, for a very reasonable price. This is the company you want to call for your serious plumbing issue!!

Verify Availability Before You Call

Professional Drain Cleaning in Cincinnati

From the historic brownstones of Over-the-Rhine to the modern developments in Liberty Township, Cincinnati homeowners face unique plumbing challenges. The Queen City's mix of aging infrastructure and diverse topography means a slow drain can quickly escalate into a major basement flood. Finding a plumber who is actually available when you have an emergency shouldn't be a game of phone tag. Our service revolutionizes how Cincinnati residents find help. We proactively scan our network of certified local plumbers, filtering them specifically by your zip code to ensure they serve your neighborhood. More importantly, we call them to verify their current availability, so when we connect you, you know they are ready to head to your door in the Queen City immediately.

Common Drain Issues in Cincinnati

Cincinnati is famous for its lush canopy of oak and maple trees, but these roots are a primary enemy of local sewer lines. In older neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Clifton, invasive tree roots often penetrate clay pipes, leading to stubborn blockages that require professional hydro-jetting.

Many homes in the Greater Cincinnati area still utilize original cast iron or even older tile drainage pipes. Over the decades, these materials can corrode or collapse. Our verified plumbers specialize in diagnosing these structural issues common to Cincinnati’s historic architecture using advanced camera inspections.

The water in Southwest Ohio is notably hard due to local limestone deposits. Over time, calcium and mineral scale build up inside your pipes, narrowing the passage and making it easier for soap scum and organic waste to cause a total backup. Regular professional descaling is often necessary for Cincinnati residents.

With our proximity to the Ohio River and the city's hilly landscape, heavy rain can put immense pressure on local drainage systems. This often leads to basement floor drain backups or sump pump failures during the wet spring months, requiring immediate professional intervention to prevent water damage.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Cincinnati

Before the humid Cincinnati summer hits, have a professional clear your HVAC condensate lines. High humidity can lead to rapid algae growth, which frequently clogs these small drains and causes water to leak into your basement.

Cincinnati autumns bring heavy leaf fall that can easily overwhelm outdoor area drains and gutter downspouts. Regularly clear debris from your yard to prevent the first heavy October rain from pushing mulch and leaves into your main sewer line.

Prepare for the Ohio winter by disconnecting all garden hoses and insulating outdoor spigots. Frozen pipes in Cincinnati's fluctuating winter temperatures are a leading cause of burst lines and subsequent drainage disasters during the spring thaw.

Spring in the Ohio Valley means heavy rainfall. Test your sump pump and check your basement floor drains in March to ensure they are clear and functional before the peak rainy season begins in April.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Cincinnati

$145-$450

Pricing in Cincinnati typically depends on the severity of the clog and the equipment required. A simple sink snake is on the lower end, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting for root removal falls on the higher end.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Cincinnati

Who is responsible for the sewer line in Cincinnati?

In most parts of Cincinnati, the homeowner is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the sewer lateral line from the house all the way to the connection at the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) main line.

How does Cincinnati’s hard water affect my drains?

The high mineral content in Cincinnati's water creates scale buildup inside pipes. This rough surface catches hair and grease more easily, leading to more frequent and stubborn clogs than in cities with softer water.

Can I get a plumber to my Cincinnati zip code today?

Yes. Our service specifically filters for plumbers currently working in your Cincinnati zip code and we call them to confirm they have an open slot for you today before we connect you.

What is the most common cause of sewer backups in older Cincinnati neighborhoods?

In areas like Northside or Walnut Hills, the combination of aging clay pipes and mature tree root systems is the most common cause of significant sewer backups.

Are 24/7 emergency drain services available in the Greater Cincinnati area?

Yes, many plumbers in our network offer 24-hour emergency services. We verify their current 'on-call' status so you don't waste time calling companies that aren't answering their phones.
