This company has outstanding technicians and equipment at a fair price. Our toilets were not flushing at all. The water was filling the bowl. Cory and Dante from Roto Rooter used a camera in our sewer line and discovered a blockage directly under a large pin oak in the middle of our front yard. They attempted jetting it with a super high psi jet head, but the blockage was due to large roots that had infiltrated the sewer pipe at the joints. Undaunted, they pulled that machine out and brought out a root cutter unit which did the job. They jetted it once more and it was perfect. These two technicians, Cory and Dante, were amazing. They knew exactly how to tackle a serious problem and were polite, hard working, and consummate professionals. I will use Roto-Rooter for all my plumbing needs from now on.

I had a badly clogged kitchen sink and called this Roto-Rooter for help. Nick showed up on time, explained what was causing the blockage, and cleared it out quickly without any hassle. Super professional, reasonably priced, and made sure everything was running perfectly before leaving. Highly recommend if you need someone reliable and skilled!

I had Austin out to clear a backup in my sewer line. He not only unclogged my outlet, he educated me on what potentially may become an issue down the line, how to avoid problems and what long term solutions may be, if it becomes an extensive problem. Austin was pleasant to speak with, clean cut, and professional. I highly recommend this company and certify that they are trustworthy and provide quality service. The office lady - I think Lucy was her name - was also an excellent communicator.

I was at first very pleased with the technician Austin who came out to snake and scope my above-ground-basement floor drains. He was friendly and went above and beyond what I had expected. The initial snake and scope inspection were $400, even though nothing had been cleared. I was told my pipe, 2' outside my home had shifted or busted and needed replaced and was told by the technician it usually costs $1500 depending on how much work needs done, plus the 400 we paid for the initial inspection would be taken off the bill for the excavation and pipe repair. I then get a quote for $2500, which would be worse case scenario depending on how badly it was broken or how much pipe needed replaced. I asked about the $400 we paid for the initial inspection and was again told it would be taken off the final bill. They come and do the excavation, and find that the pipe was not busted after all, just clogged 2' outside my above-ground-basement wall. They added an access pipe and cleared the clog. The access pipe is not straight, it is at a slight angle. I then get the final bill for $2500 for the excavation. After paying $400 for the inspection. I was then told the quote was including the $400 off for the initial inspection. So now I paid $2900. Had the initial inspection with the camera found the actual problem, a clog, not a broken pipe, the excavation would not have been needed. The initial estimate of $1500 minus the $400 i paid for the inspection suddenly jumped to $2500 minus the $400, to then it just being $2500. The pipe is not deep in the ground where they dug. It was not a worst case scenario to get the full $2500 charge. They did not remove the $400 i paid for the initial inspection from the final bill which did not find the actual problem only alluded to a much more expensive one to fix. I was mislead into thinking even at $2500 for a worst case scenario, I would get the $400 inspection fee removed. The initial snake i paid for did not remove the clog, the scope i paid for did not find the problem, and I paid for services I did not need (excavation for a broken pipe). And again, the access pipe which was installed is not straight, which is extremely aggravating to look at. I was mislead many times by this company and I am not at all happy with paying $2900 for a clog. *Edit* After posting my review, I was contacted and they apologized for the miscommunication about the pricing confusion and the initial inspection refund. The refund was given, and I appreciate it. I then inquired with Logan about the access pipe not being plumb, and was told that 4" SDR35 gasketed pipe can not be made plumb and that it is what it is, as it is still functional. I was then told that if I want the pipe straight, or plumb, they would charge me to come out in the spring and correct the pipe, which should have been set plumb in the first place. Improper installation exacerbates shifting during ground settling. So, they couldn't properly do it during installation, yet they can charge me to come out in the spring and do it properly. Very poor workmanship and to be fed such nonsense from their supervisor leaves me very dismayed. *Response to reply* Yes, the pipe is pitched away from my home at a downward angle with the slope of the drain, which is correct (which would be the pipe tilted slightly toward you in the photo) However, the perpendicular axis to the pipe exiting my home is what the photo shows being 15°-20° tilted to the left. On this axis, it can rotate 360°degrees with the circumference of the pipe like a wheel spoke around an axel. It is not a bolted pipe flange, it can be set at any angle within the circumference of the pipe. It can be made plumb left to right. As I was told, if I pay you more money, in the spring, you can come redo it and make it plumb.

Rooter Man has been the best plumbing experience I’ve ever had. I was recommended them by Americon Restoration after a pipe started leaking through my kitchen ceiling. Heather from Rooter Man text me SAME DAY that Americon was here trying to set me up with an immediate appointment with a plumber. She got me booked for the very next day! My plumber, Evan, showed up promptly right as the two hour window began, and was so personable and kind. He assessed my issue and determined he needed to make a run to the hardware store first so he could do the job same day. He ended up replacing about 16 inches of my corroded supply line. He worked so diligently, and explained to me what he did to correct the issue. He spoke to me (a single mom) respectfully and concisely. His cleanup was if he was never here. What a wonderful and smooth process this was for me- I took their card to recommend them- and use them again!

So extremely disappointed by this company. We had a sewer back up in our basement, they came out in a timely manner which I appreciated. However, the guy looked into the pipe with flashlight and determined it was a “sludge buildup” and recommended we got hydro jetting for 738 dollars. Turns out after the problem getting worse and getting a second opinion it was tree roots.

I had an emergency at my home with a couple of drains backed up. I didn't know what to expect about how the issues would be addressed. Roto Rooter sent a plumber on the same day that I called, and he addressed both drains quickly. I worried that the second drain might be a big ordeal, but the plumber was able to snake it without changing the price he'd already quoted for the first drain. One of the drains was a floor drain, and it finally has a proper cover on it, as it has needed for a while. I'm very happy with my service.

Well, I had about as good of an experience as a person with sewage in his basement can have! Brian, my technician, was polite, punctual, articulate and informed! He answered all of my questions and understood my reservations about how we needed to proceed. In the end, it was taken care of professionally and efficiently. I was educated as to what caused the problem (That camera that can go out the sewer line was pretty cool!) and given some reasonable recommendations on follow up service. I called Roto-Rooter because of their good reputation and I was not disappointed! Lee Stow, Ohio

Nate and Brad just left our house, and we couldn't be happier. They arrived soon after I'd called for service and they were both very professional and explained everything very well. They identified and took care of the problem so quickly, I couldn't believe it. We had tried everything we knew to do, and they had the problem solved in a short time. By the way, it was something we would not have been able to do on our own. The clog was too far down in the line. They are two of the nicest people too. Great representatives for Roto-Rooter. This is our first experience with Roto-Rooter and I can honestly say, I will not hesitate to call them in the future!

We had a pipe running from our basement to the septic system that was essentially destroyed, replacing it was something I had been putting off. I talked with Gary, the general manager about it, and he did what he could to have his crew carry out the replacement in the easiest and most cost-effective way they could do it. Nate, Josh, and Jake came by the next morning, earlier than scheduled, and took care of it quickly and efficiently, finishing up earlier than anticipated, and at a lower price than was estimated. The replacement came with a 20-year, transferable warranty. Five stars, would recommend!

We recently had a pipe in our basement burst due to the freezing weather. Rudi, David and Owen came out to assess and repair the pipe. They made the whole process easy and less stressful. The energy they had the minute they came in our home put us at ease and let us know that they cared. Rudi, in particular, put us at ease and felt like family. The professionalism and kindness have made us Roto Rooter customers for life. I will definitely recommended them to others.

Work that was completed for the mitigation was done well and professionally. Despite being asked to be called or sent a text on an arrival time I did not receive one and instead just got a knock on the door which made planning around the schedule difficult. One of the days, I had planned for them to arrive in the morning so that they can get whatever they need done to continue my day. They ended up showing up in the afternoon due to an “urgent job” and therefore I needed to change my schedule to accommodate for it. The only communication I got about their late arrival was when I had reached out to the manager about it. When I asked about my clothes getting cleaned, the manager said he would get me in contact with someone who would be able to help with getting the clothes cleaned. It was not explained that the work would be going through Roto-Rooter and not insurance, which had Roto-Rooter charge me 20% of the bill from the people cleaning the clothes all for just getting my contact information to the company that would be cleaning the clothes which led to me getting closer to my insurance limit which led me to spending more money out of pocket. Overall did a good job with cleaning out the sewer line, mitigating the issue and fixing the problem for the sewer line just wish communication was better to understand to avoid the 20% fee for getting me in contact with the company to get my clothes cleaned. Total cost for the water clean up, mitigation, clothes being cleaned, and the 20% fee from Roto-Rooter was around $9.5k. The cost to get the drain and sewer line initially cleaned out was around $500. The cost to replace the sewer line, which required them to tear up the retainer wall, throw the bricks into a pile in my front yard cost me around $21k as well. Below photos is from before and after of the work when I was able to view it and I had already started to move some bricks down to start to rebuild the wall

Deionne handled my emotional breakdown so well. His communication was thorough and answered EVERY question I had with grace. I really appreciate him being so patient. I'm NOT thrilled with Rotorooters service on my property. The work previously done was supposed to alleviate the backing up of sewer, yet the sewer is still backing up and now I'm having to go through the process of service all over again. Not sure if insurance will cover it the second time around in less than a years time.

The service professional, Sam Coddington, arrived during the time slot I had been advised and I showed him the plumbing problem and leak at the kitchen sink. I was expecting to only get an estimate for the work but to my surprise, Sam said he could do the work right then. In less than two hours Sam had new shut off valves, the new faucet (I had previously purchased in hopes of DIY but...) installed and re-aligned a section of the sink drain pipe for proper drainage. Well worth the cost and only made me wish I hadn't waited as long (I'm embarrassed to say how long) as I did to have a professional in to do the job. Thank you Mr. Rooter.

Waterfall thru my kitchen ceiling 2 days before Christmas in a home we just moved into 3 weeks ago. Long story short, Andrew was out first thing in the morning and got us all fixed back up, and in contact with a water restoration company (who also came out immediately). Everyone was super helpful, professional, neat/tidy, and respectful of our home/things. Communication was great from booking appointment online to changes in the repair costs, and I felt it was responsibly priced for the service received. Will definitely use again if situation arises and would recommend.

I had a hot water tank fail over the weekend and contacted several plumbing companies. Mr. Rooter was the most responsive and easiest to work with, and they were able to come out early the very next morning—at least a day sooner than anyone else. They did not charge extra for a weekend service call or for doing the work the same day, and their pricing was very reasonable. The technician, Andre, was excellent—very personable, professional, and clearly skilled. I was extremely pleased with the experience, would highly recommend Mr. Rooter, and would absolutely use them again.

Professional Drain Cleaning in Akron

In the 'Rubber City,' local homeowners know that a clogged drain can bring a busy household to a grinding halt. From the historic residences in Highland Square to the newer family homes near Portage Lakes, Akron's diverse architecture means every plumbing system has its own unique quirks. Whether you're dealing with a slow kitchen sink or a serious basement backup, you shouldn't have to spend your afternoon playing phone tag with various plumbing companies. Our service revolutionizes how Akron residents find help. We maintain a network of certified plumbers throughout Summit County and filter them based on your exact zip code. The best part? We don't just give you a list; we call the plumbers ourselves to verify they are available and equipped to solve your specific drain emergency immediately. This ensures that when you get a recommendation, it's from a pro who is actually ready to head to your door in Akron.

Common Drain Issues in Akron

Aging Infrastructure and Clay Pipes: Many older neighborhoods in West Akron still utilize original clay sewer tiles. These pipes are prone to shifting and cracking over time, leading to stubborn blockages that require professional rooter service rather than simple DIY fixes.

Tree Root Intrusion: Akron is known for its beautiful, mature tree canopy. Unfortunately, those roots are drawn to the moisture in your sewer lines. We frequently see roots penetrating pipe joints in areas like Ellet and Goodyear Heights, causing complete main line stoppages.

Heavy Mineral Buildup: The water profile in the Akron area can contribute to scale and mineral buildup inside your pipes. Over decades, this narrow the diameter of your drains, making it easier for soap scum and hair to cause frequent, frustrating backups.

Basement Drain Backups: With Akron's hilly terrain and heavy seasonal rains, basement floor drains are a common point of failure. When the municipal system or your own main line becomes overwhelmed, it often manifests as a messy backup in the lowest point of your home.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Akron

Prepare for the Spring Thaw: As the ground thaws in Akron each spring, the soil shifts can put pressure on your exterior drainage lines. Check your basement floor drains early in the season to ensure they are flowing freely before heavy rain hits.

Fall Leaf Debris Prevention: Before the first Ohio snow falls, ensure your outdoor drains and gutters are clear of fallen leaves. Debris that enters your drainage system in the fall can freeze and cause significant blockages during the winter months.

Winter Pipe Insulation: In the depths of an Akron winter, ensure any drain pipes located in unheated areas (like crawlspaces) are insulated. A frozen drain pipe is much more likely to trap waste and cause a major clog once it finally thaws.

Summer Root Maintenance: During the peak growing season, be proactive if you notice gurgling sounds from your toilets. This is the time when tree roots are most active in seeking out water, and catching a root intrusion early can save you from a full sewer backup.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Akron

$145-$450

Standard drain cleaning in Akron typically ranges based on the severity and location of the clog. Simple sink or tub snaking is on the lower end, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting for heavy root intrusion represents the higher end of the scale.
