Top Rated Plumbers in New Orleans
Rooter Man
2545 Delaware Ave, Kenner, LA 70062, USA
(504) 262-8222Called Rooter Man when things were not flowing, prompt service, really nice technician explained everything in detail, and gave my plumber the information he needed on 120+ year old sewer lines. And the folks in their offices, could not have been better. Oh yeah, the price was well within my expectations.
2 weeks agoRooter Man Had someone come out day before Thanksgiving to clear a line and the tech never reconnected the pipe under the sink. Wife went to wash dishes after thinking he fixed it and boom water everywhere. Flooded my kitchen and got under my flooring. Also when he went on the roof he knocked the drain out in the laundry room and never went check it. Laundry room also flooded. Didn't stop there. My sink drain did not leak before and magically after it did. Tech tells my wife it has to be changed and he proceeded to put a stainless steel drain on my expensive gunmetal sink. My wife tells him after and they try to tell her oh well brushed nickel would have cost more. Again its gunmetal and we didn't care about the price. They sent a deceptive mitigation team and made agreements to pay through them and did not honor any of it. They didn't even refund the charge for service call. Imagine ruining someone's home and charging them. But here is the kicker, the company never even called or apologized. Not the tech, the manager, or a single person from the company. I would never recommend them to anyone. Had to call several times months later to finally get someone to speak to me and Robin was rude from the start of the conversation and said this was probably a blessing to have happened to us. Do not use them and when they do mess up your home do not allow them to send the shady RestoPros to lie to you. But hey I guess when you are a shady business you deal with other shady businesses also.
1 month agoWe’ve been using Rooterman for plumbing work at our school for quite a while now, and they’ve been excellent every time. The first time we called them was for a pretty stubborn clog that a couple of other companies couldn’t figure out. Rooterman not only cleared it, they identified the bigger issue behind it and got everything working the right way. Since then, anytime we have a plumbing problem on campus, they’re the first ones we call. They’re reliable, quick to respond, and they always get the job done right. Pricing has always been very fair.
3 months agoMr. Rooter Plumbing of New Orleans
615 Orange St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 332-2111Our shower was draining very slowly. I called Mr. Rooter and they were able to get someone out the same day. The plumber arrived early and fixed our issue within a few minutes. He told me what the issue was and let us know that their work came with a warranty. I was very pleased to see our shower draining quickly. I will definitely call them in the future if we have any other issues.
2 months agoFrom the moment I called for an emergency issue, the company was friendly, efficient and responsive. They kept me informed via text and email of their visit. When Zach arrived, he introduced himself, was polite, and didn’t waste time getting down to business. He diagnosed the problem quickly and we discussed the solution. He cleaned the line, flushed it and checked it with the camera. The communication and professionalism from start to finish was great!
3 weeks agoWe had a great experience with Mr. Rooter Plumbing and Zachary Sykes, their technician. He was punctual, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He diagnosed the problem at my mother's home quickly and explained the solution in a way that was easy to understand, which made it easy for me to interpret to my mother. What really stood out was his great sense of humor—it made the whole experience much more pleasant and put us at ease right away. He was respectful of my mom's home, worked efficiently, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. I also really appreciated how the company sends a picture of the technician ahead of time. That extra step is very helpful and adds a strong sense of safety and professionalism. Based on his professionalism, knowledge, and positive attitude, he absolutely deserves Employee of the Month. I would highly recommend Mr. Rooter and would gladly request him again.

9 months agoMartinez Brothers Plumbing
7080 Read Blvd #5650, New Orleans, LA 70127, USA
(504) 688-4013I am really impressed with Martinez Brothers Plumbing. The office staff was quick to answer my call and handled everything professionally. Nathaniel came out for our service and we were very pleased with his plumbing skills and knowledge. He fixed our issue fast and explained exactly what happened with our old cast iron pipes. It was helpful to see the live video from his scope camera showing the condition of our main sewer line, so there was no confusion about what was going on. Since our pipes are pretty old, Nathaniel let us know we’ll need to replace our sewer line soon. He showed pictures of similar jobs and explained the whole process, step by step, so we knew what to expect and why it was needed. Even though it’s not fun to deal with, I appreciate the honesty and clear information we received. It was also great to learn that financing options are available. I would definitely recommend this plumbing company to friends, family, and neighbors in New Orleans.
2 weeks agoWhen my basement floor started flooding due to a blocked drain, the plumbing team quickly adjusted their schedule to help me out. They were very professional and took a careful, step-by-step approach to fix the issue. Barry and Nathaniel were friendly, explaining each stage of their work so I always knew what was happening. Even though my house is almost 40 years old and the pipes are tricky, they managed to clear out the sewer and basement drain without any mess and got everything working smoothly again. I was also pleasantly surprised by how fair the price was. I would definitely call them again for any plumbing needs and highly recommend their services!
2 weeks agoI had a leaking tankless water heater at my home in New Orleans and wasn’t sure who to call. I had three different plumbers come by, and each one gave me a different price and a different timeline—one even said it would take a week to fix, while another tried to talk me into buying a whole new unit for thousands of dollars. One plumber even said the job was too big for them after they looked at it. I decided to reach out to the manufacturer for advice, and they recommended Martinez Brothers Plumbing. When I called, they sent Barry to help me out. Barry checked my water heater and let me know it was still under warranty, so I could get a brand new one at no cost. It was great news! Barry already had the replacement water heater ready, and just a couple of hours later, I had hot water running again. I’m very happy with the service and will recommend them to anyone needing a reliable plumber in New Orleans. They really are the best at what they do!

3 weeks agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in New Orleans
Living in the Big Easy means dealing with more than just humidity; our unique local infrastructure and low-lying geography put a heavy burden on residential plumbing. From the historic homes of the Garden District to the vibrant streets of Mid-City, New Orleans residents face distinct drainage challenges that require specialized local expertise. Finding a plumber who is actually available to navigate NOLA traffic and show up on time shouldn't be your second job. That’s where we come in. Our service takes the guesswork out of emergency repairs by scanning our local network of certified plumbers specifically for your zip code. We don't just provide a list—we actually call the technicians to confirm they have the tools and the time to fix your drain today. Whether it’s a backed-up kitchen sink or a complex main line issue, we ensure you’re connected with a pro who is ready to work immediately.
Common Drain Issues in New Orleans
The massive, iconic Live Oaks that line our streets are a New Orleans treasure, but their roots are a nightmare for underground pipes. These aggressive root systems often seek out moisture in aging clay or cast-iron sewer lines, causing stubborn blockages and pipe collapses that require professional hydro-jetting or snaking.
New Orleans is famous for its world-class cuisine, but all that frying and gumbo-making leads to significant Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) buildup in kitchen drains. Over time, these substances solidify in the pipes of our historic homes, creating 'fatbergs' that traditional liquid cleaners simply cannot dissolve.
Because New Orleans sits below sea level, our soil is naturally sandy and prone to shifting. This constant ground movement can cause older pipes to crack or 'belly,' allowing silt and sediment to enter the lines. This sediment settles in low spots, creating dense clogs that require heavy-duty equipment to clear effectively.
Many homes in neighborhoods like the Marigny or Bywater feature plumbing systems that are several decades—or even a century—old. These pipes are often narrower than modern standards and are highly susceptible to corrosion and scale buildup, which catches hair and debris more easily than smooth PVC piping.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for New Orleans
Before Mardi Gras or major holidays, have your main line inspected. Hosting large groups puts extra strain on older NOLA plumbing, and the last thing you want during a celebration is a sewage backup.
During hurricane season, ensure your exterior area drains and gutters are clear of debris. Heavy tropical downpours can quickly overwhelm your system if leaves and silt are blocking the flow, leading to localized flooding around your foundation.
In the spring, consider a preventative root-killing treatment. As the Louisiana flora wakes up, tree roots become more active in their search for water, making this the peak time for sewer line intrusions.
Perform a monthly hot water flush in your kitchen. Even with our mild winters, grease can still thicken in your pipes. Pouring a gallon of near-boiling water down the drain can help move grease through the system before it has a chance to solidify.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in New Orleans
Standard drain snaking for sinks or tubs usually falls on the lower end, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting in historic properties typically costs more due to equipment and access requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in New Orleans
How do you find a plumber in my specific New Orleans neighborhood?
We use your exact zip code to filter our network of certified New Orleans plumbers. We then call them directly to ensure they are currently available to service your specific area, whether you are in Lakeview, Gentilly, or the Westbank.
Can you help with emergency drain cleaning on weekends or during Mardi Gras?
Yes! We specialize in 24-hour availability verification. We know that plumbing issues don't wait for business hours, so we find the pros who are active and ready to work in NOLA right now, even on holidays or weekends.
Is hydro-jetting safe for the old pipes in my historic NOLA home?
While hydro-jetting is highly effective, it requires a professional assessment for historic pipes. The certified plumbers in our network can perform a camera inspection first to determine if your clay or cast-iron pipes are strong enough for high-pressure cleaning.
How long does it typically take for a plumber to arrive?
Because we verify availability before you even book, we find the technicians who can typically arrive within a few hours. By filtering for your specific zip code, we minimize travel time across the city.
Why shouldn't I just use a chemical drain cleaner from the store?
In New Orleans, many clogs are caused by thick grease or heavy tree roots. Chemical cleaners are often too weak for these issues and can actually corrode the older metal pipes found in many local homes, leading to much more expensive repairs later.
