10/10 recommend Sound Rooter! We had a couple floor drains backing up in our business, and they were able to come at 11:00pm to get it fixed so we could open on time for business in the morning. The person on the phone and the guy who came out were both very professional, kind and easy to work with. We will use them again in the future!

I called Sound Rooter & Plumbing after I couldn’t get clear schedule information from my original contractor on a main sewer line repair. Sound Rooter & Plumbing responded very quickly and had the repair complete within 24 hours and within a similar cost as our original quote. We were so grateful to be able to use our plumbing again after 7 days. I would recommend them to my friends, especially if you like supporting small family businesses.

Nick from Olympic Plumbing Technology met with me today to provide an estimate to replace the water main pipe that runs from the curbside meter to our homes water main shutoff; about a 40ft run from the meter. The City of Puyallup notified us of a suspected leak. Initial guidance from the utility worker was to shut-off our home water main line and watch the water meter; if it's still spinning, the leak is in between the meter and the home. Not inside the house. We did this test and the meter kept spinning with our home water main turned off. BUMMER!! The leaking pipe is about 40 years old and sprung a leak underground. Nick met with us and what a great experience!! He is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained our options with a detailed scope of work breakdown. I had done enough research and spoke with another outdoor plumber that did not leave me with the feeling I would want to work with him. We decided to go with Olympic Plumbing Technology and agreed to 1 of the options to replace the water line. Before Nick left he had already teed up the "Call Before you Dig" service and scheduled a crew to start work in 5 days. I will follow up after the actual work is completed and finish this review. Follow Up November 6, 2025.: The work started Monday morning 8:00am and completed the replacement of our water main Tuesday afternoon. The crew was on time every day as well as the concrete company, Evergreen Concrete Cutting, sub-contracted by Olympic to replace the sidewalk that had to be removed to complete the work. Everyone I dealt with at Olympic Plumbing Technology from the beginning of the process, during the project, to signing off on the project on Tuesday was an good experience. I spoke of Nick above, he was our go-to guy and ran this project in a way that made it all seem seamless, he took care of everything, and the on-site crew was also outstanding at dealing with a very difficult access to our foundation. It was about a 40ft run of glacial marine rocks. That's Puyallup's South Hill for you, digging a hole requires a crowbar...for real. The other complexity was the water main was also running underground with power lines, cable lines, gas line, and a telecom cable too. All within a 20 sq. ft. area. See pic We were notified by the City of Puyallup of the leak on 10/27 and the project was completed today 11/6 with the Evergreen taking down the barricade to protect the fresh sidewalk concrete. If you have a gnarly problem come up, like you home water main is leaking underground, Olympic Plumbing Technology should be your first call.

These folks are absolutely outstanding! Our toilet suddenly became clogged and none of the tools in our house were able to get rid of the clog. We called around a lot and these folks stuck out. We sure weren't let down. They were able to come right out and take care of our little mess. Steven was our technician. He was phenomenal! Knowledgeable, kind and great with people. He had the whole thing fixed in no time flat. The price was right also! They have now become our plumber of choice. Use them if any of you need a plumber. What a great experience!

I wish I had done more research before having a new shower installed. We originally called Olympic Plumbing for a leak and blockage issue. They suggested either redoing the tile work or replacing the entire shower, and since they also install showers and I’m not a fan of tile, we decided to go that route. Communication between their office, installers, and us was inconsistent. They mentioned they didn’t do drywall, but I didn’t realize until installation day just how much cutting would be involved — we were left with a few inches of exposed wall around the shower, and the flooring didn’t meet the base. As someone new to renovations, I didn’t know what to expect, but I wish this had been explained more clearly. I wanted to cry when I saw the final result, I was overwhelmed with a cranky toddler that I had finally gotten to sleep, and just wanted the day to be over. I was alone so I just signed off on the job. Scheduling was also an issue. I was sent a photo of the shower they recommended — which I approved — but the unit installed was not the same one, so that was disappointing. They also did not confirm an appointment for the actual install, they said they ordered the shower and it would be there on a certain day. I assumed it would be delivered to them and expected a call back to confirm wha time/day works for the actual install. They put me on the books without telling me, I had no confirmation email, text, no reminders and I had to rush from work to meet them. (They do have appointment reminders set up because I received one for the consultation and for the day they had to come back and finish the job) One of the reasons we agreed was because of their 12 month no interest financing($7,000), I wasn’t aware this automatically enrolled us in a one-year membership($15/mo). I didn’t see that stated in the paperwork, and I would have appreciated being told directly. The office lady told me I agreed to it, but I did not I realize I did and could not find the fine print. Lastly, we asked them to use the shut-off valve to turn off our water or the well house. The valve was tight and probably needs to be replaced, which would have been fine. Instead, they used the breaker instead of accessing the well house. A few weeks later, our well pump failed completely, costing us over $10,000 to replace. Overall, the plumbers themselves seemed competent — they did resolve our initial blockage issue — but I would not hire them again for a project of this scale. It was an expensive learning experience, and I’ll be canceling the membership once my contract ends and the shower is paid off.

This company is absolutely fantastic and stands out above and beyond many others that I've dealt with. The professionalism and friendliness of this company have blown me away. This gentleman is not even out of my driveway yet, and I'm on here writing a review. This gentleman came in and assessed the situation and then broke it down, leaving me with no questions at all regarding the process and the price. He estimated the time of completion and then got to work! It's Memorial Day weekend...no crazy prices! No price gouging... no fast talk. These are the people to call. And when you've dealt with many others and you come across a group of people like this...sing their praises! Well deserved! **Thanks, Alan!! He's legit!

I got same day service after I called American Plumbing. John replaced 11 very corroded water nipple valves, replaced a 1/4 turn shut off valve for the dishwasher, and replaced a part in my toilet. He was very thorough and worked hard especially given some of the tight areas in my home. He was honest about some of the potential challenges of the job and was able to get the job done extremely well.

Jared completed the install and he was nothing but professional and his work shows his knowledge in the trade. Great experience from start to finish.

I called them to get an estimate to fix a hot mess under our kitchen sink that was here when we move in. Dishwasher vent leaking water, fridge water line too small and drain issues (one sink drain running uphill!!). They completely redid our sink drains PROPERLY, ran a new line to the fridge and for the first time in 5 years our fridge water and ice maker actually works! Our sinks also drain properly now and our dishwasher air gap no longer spews water. Great job! Before and after pics posted.

Adam at DnA plumbing is the best! The best customer service, high quality work, and the best prices. Other plumbers wanted to charge 50-300% more for the same job. Why? Because they have employees to pay. Adam works by himself, allowing him to charge reasonable prices. If you ever need a plumber, he's your guy!!

Verify Availability Before You Call

Professional Drain Cleaning in Olympia, Washington

Olympia residents know that a clogged drain can ruin a perfectly good rainy afternoon. From the historic homes near the Capitol Campus to the newer suburban developments in the Westside, finding a plumber who is actually available when you need them is often the hardest part of the job. Our service takes the guesswork out of the process by scanning a curated network of certified Olympia plumbers and filtering them specifically for your neighborhood.

We don't just provide a list of names; we verify who is ready to work right now. We handle the initial contact to confirm a technician can reach your Thurston County home today, ensuring you aren't stuck waiting for a callback that never comes. Whether you're dealing with a slow kitchen sink or a major sewer line backup, we provide a direct connection to the help you need in the state's capital.

Common Drain Issues in Olympia, Washington

Root Intrusion from Olympia's Lush Greenery: With so many Douglas firs and native evergreens throughout neighborhoods like South Capitol and Ken Lake, tree roots are a primary cause of sewer line blockages. These roots seek out moisture in older pipes, creating stubborn, recurring clogs.

Aging Pipes in Historic Neighborhoods: Many homes built in the early 20th century across Olympia feature older galvanized or clay piping. These materials are prone to internal corrosion and sediment buildup over the decades, leading to frequent drainage issues that require professional attention.

Heavy Rainfall Stress on Drainage: Olympia's high annual rainfall can put immense pressure on local drainage systems. When the ground becomes saturated, exterior drains and sewer lines can struggle to keep up, leading to unexpected backups in basements or crawlspaces during the wet season.

Solidified Grease in Pacific Northwest Temps: In residential areas across the city, grease and food scraps often find their way down kitchen drains. Because of our cooler year-round groundwater temperatures, grease can solidify quickly inside pipes, narrowing the passage and causing slow drains.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Olympia, Washington

Fall Leaf Clearing: Before the heavy autumn rains arrive, ensure your exterior area drains and gutters are clear of fallen maple and oak leaves to prevent localized flooding around your home's foundation.

Winter Pipe Protection: During Olympia's winter cold snaps, ensure any exposed pipes are insulated. While clogs are the immediate threat, frozen lines can lead to structural damage that attracts debris and causes massive blockages later.

Spring Root Inspection: As trees enter their growth phase in the spring, consider a camera inspection if you live in a wooded part of the city. Catching root intrusions early can prevent a total sewer line failure during the summer.

Summer Sewer Maintenance: With the drier soil in late summer, any existing cracks in your pipes might expand. This is the ideal time for high-pressure hydro-jetting to clear out the year's accumulation of grime and sediment.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Olympia, Washington

$165-$475

Pricing in Olympia typically depends on the severity of the clog and the equipment required. A simple snake service is on the lower end, while advanced hydro-jetting or main line clearing falls on the higher end.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Olympia, Washington

How fast can I get a plumber to my home in Olympia?

By using our zip code filtering and live verification, we find plumbers who are available for same-day service in the Olympia and greater Thurston County area.

Do Olympia's trees affect my home's drainage pipes?

Yes, Olympia's native evergreens and maples have aggressive root systems that frequently infiltrate older sewer lines, especially in established neighborhoods like South Capitol.

Is hydro-jetting safe for older pipes in historic Olympia homes?

While highly effective, we recommend an initial camera inspection for older homes to ensure pipes are structurally sound enough for high-pressure cleaning without causing damage.

Why should I use your service instead of a standard search engine?

We save you the frustration of calling multiple plumbers who may be booked out for weeks. We pre-verify that the plumber is available to work in your specific Olympia zip code today.

Are the plumbers in your network familiar with local Olympia building codes?

Yes, we only work with certified professionals who are licensed in Washington State and understand the specific municipal plumbing requirements for the City of Olympia.
