Top Rated Plumbers in Lacey, Washington
Olympic Plumbing Technology
514 Pattison St NE, Olympia, WA 98506, USA
(360) 300-4306Nick from Olympic Plumbing Technology met with me today to provide an estimate to replace the water main pipe that runs from the curbside meter to our homes water main shutoff; about a 40ft run from the meter. The City of Puyallup notified us of a suspected leak. Initial guidance from the utility worker was to shut-off our home water main line and watch the water meter; if it's still spinning, the leak is in between the meter and the home. Not inside the house. We did this test and the meter kept spinning with our home water main turned off. BUMMER!! The leaking pipe is about 40 years old and sprung a leak underground. Nick met with us and what a great experience!! He is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained our options with a detailed scope of work breakdown. I had done enough research and spoke with another outdoor plumber that did not leave me with the feeling I would want to work with him. We decided to go with Olympic Plumbing Technology and agreed to 1 of the options to replace the water line. Before Nick left he had already teed up the "Call Before you Dig" service and scheduled a crew to start work in 5 days. I will follow up after the actual work is completed and finish this review. Follow Up November 6, 2025.: The work started Monday morning 8:00am and completed the replacement of our water main Tuesday afternoon. The crew was on time every day as well as the concrete company, Evergreen Concrete Cutting, sub-contracted by Olympic to replace the sidewalk that had to be removed to complete the work. Everyone I dealt with at Olympic Plumbing Technology from the beginning of the process, during the project, to signing off on the project on Tuesday was an good experience. I spoke of Nick above, he was our go-to guy and ran this project in a way that made it all seem seamless, he took care of everything, and the on-site crew was also outstanding at dealing with a very difficult access to our foundation. It was about a 40ft run of glacial marine rocks. That's Puyallup's South Hill for you, digging a hole requires a crowbar...for real. The other complexity was the water main was also running underground with power lines, cable lines, gas line, and a telecom cable too. All within a 20 sq. ft. area. See pic We were notified by the City of Puyallup of the leak on 10/27 and the project was completed today 11/6 with the Evergreen taking down the barricade to protect the fresh sidewalk concrete. If you have a gnarly problem come up, like you home water main is leaking underground, Olympic Plumbing Technology should be your first call.
7 months agoThese folks are absolutely outstanding! Our toilet suddenly became clogged and none of the tools in our house were able to get rid of the clog. We called around a lot and these folks stuck out. We sure weren't let down. They were able to come right out and take care of our little mess. Steven was our technician. He was phenomenal! Knowledgeable, kind and great with people. He had the whole thing fixed in no time flat. The price was right also! They have now become our plumber of choice. Use them if any of you need a plumber. What a great experience!
3 months agoI wish I had done more research before having a new shower installed. We originally called Olympic Plumbing for a leak and blockage issue. They suggested either redoing the tile work or replacing the entire shower, and since they also install showers and I’m not a fan of tile, we decided to go that route. Communication between their office, installers, and us was inconsistent. They mentioned they didn’t do drywall, but I didn’t realize until installation day just how much cutting would be involved — we were left with a few inches of exposed wall around the shower, and the flooring didn’t meet the base. As someone new to renovations, I didn’t know what to expect, but I wish this had been explained more clearly. I wanted to cry when I saw the final result, I was overwhelmed with a cranky toddler that I had finally gotten to sleep, and just wanted the day to be over. I was alone so I just signed off on the job. Scheduling was also an issue. I was sent a photo of the shower they recommended — which I approved — but the unit installed was not the same one, so that was disappointing. They also did not confirm an appointment for the actual install, they said they ordered the shower and it would be there on a certain day. I assumed it would be delivered to them and expected a call back to confirm wha time/day works for the actual install. They put me on the books without telling me, I had no confirmation email, text, no reminders and I had to rush from work to meet them. (They do have appointment reminders set up because I received one for the consultation and for the day they had to come back and finish the job) One of the reasons we agreed was because of their 12 month no interest financing($7,000), I wasn’t aware this automatically enrolled us in a one-year membership($15/mo). I didn’t see that stated in the paperwork, and I would have appreciated being told directly. The office lady told me I agreed to it, but I did not I realize I did and could not find the fine print. Lastly, we asked them to use the shut-off valve to turn off our water or the well house. The valve was tight and probably needs to be replaced, which would have been fine. Instead, they used the breaker instead of accessing the well house. A few weeks later, our well pump failed completely, costing us over $10,000 to replace. Overall, the plumbers themselves seemed competent — they did resolve our initial blockage issue — but I would not hire them again for a project of this scale. It was an expensive learning experience, and I’ll be canceling the membership once my contract ends and the shower is paid off.

6 months agoOn July 3rd our house sewer backed up. We were able to reach Conan through another plumbing clean out company. The next morning, July 4th, Conan arrived first thing in the morning. He was able to clean out the line with his equipment which involved a jetting tool and a camera. The blockage was about 90' from our clean out and Conan was concerned there might be some potential debris beyond that on local City property. In the week that followed he provided me with the video he took with the camera and advised me how to work with the City. AND he followed up with me for the next month. Conan went out go his way to make sure my issue was taken care of, he has state of the art equipment and significant experience. That said, his price was more competitive than anyones. He get's and A+ rating from me.

Common Drain Issues in Lacey, Washington
Lacey is known for its beautiful, mature evergreens, but those expansive root systems are a primary cause of sewer line backups. Douglas firs and maples often seek out moisture in your pipes, leading to stubborn blockages that require professional hydro-jetting to clear.
In many of Lacey's established residential neighborhoods, aging galvanized or cast iron pipes are still in use. Over time, these pipes develop internal corrosion and scale buildup, which traps hair and debris more easily than modern PVC, leading to frequent slow drains and recurring clogs.
The high rainfall levels typical of the South Sound can lead to increased sediment and silt entering your exterior drainage systems. If your basement floor drains or outdoor area drains aren't cleared of Pacific Northwest moss and debris, they can quickly overflow during a typical Lacey rainstorm.
With Lacey’s rapid growth and the high density of housing near the Regional Athletic Complex, local sewer systems are often put to the test. Heavy grease buildup from kitchens is a frequent culprit in the area, especially in older homes where the plumbing wasn't designed for the modern volume of waste.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Lacey, Washington
Prepare for Lacey's rainy autumn by clearing organic debris from outdoor grates and gutters. Keeping damp leaves away from your external drain covers prevents localized flooding during the heavy October and November downpours.
While Western Washington winters are generally mild, an occasional cold snap can cause grease to solidify inside your pipes much faster. Avoid pouring any fats or oils down the drain, especially during the colder months when they can harden into 'fatbergs' almost instantly.
Spring is the peak season for root growth in the Evergreen State. If you have large trees near your sewer line, consider a preventative camera inspection in the spring to catch intrusive roots before they cause a major backup.
Before the summer humidity hits, flush your floor drains and P-traps with water. In drier spells, the water seal in these traps can evaporate, allowing sewer gases to enter your Lacey home—a common but easily avoidable issue.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Lacey, Washington
Pricing in Lacey is influenced by the complexity of the blockage and the distance of the clog from the cleanout. Simple drain snaking is on the lower end, while advanced hydro-jetting or main line root removal typically costs more.
