Igor and Steve were incredibly kind. I feel like these guys do a really good job three brothers and all the other plumbing agencies in town definitely do not do the same… and not with the same customer service. I feel like Shedhorn not only is willing to get the job done, but they’re willing to work at the customer to make sure they aren’t wasting their money and as well anyone’s time.

Called Shedhorn mid-day with a gas leak and a pipe leak emergency. Steve answered and promised to see what he could do. Dispatched a highly capable plumber to the location within an hour and problem was solved by closing time. Didn't have to worry about gas leak or pipe leak getting worse overnight. That peace of mind is worth a lot. Highly recommend.

On a Wednesday, I was in great need of my hot water heater replaced before the weekend. Kyle was right on the job, obtaining a 40 gallon short gas heater, installing it that afternoon and hauling the old one away. And, he was patient in explaining the care of the new unit to me. I am grateful for the blessing of this professional plumbing company. Thanks!

This is a review for Big Sky Plumbing & Heating but first some context. What a week. Lost my Rx glasses right before my work trip to Chicago, get delayed on the way home, arriving at midnight Wednesday instead of noon, and then today, went to take a shower only to step into a cold waterfall (H2O heater took a 💩). Ran the dishwasher last night with no problem, but no hot water this morning. So after some frustrating phone conversations with the manufacturer, I reached out to Big Sky Plumbing & Heating to see if they would give me a second opinion, as the manufacturer told me my thermostat/gas valve was shot and HAD to be replaced. To be honest, I didn't expect much, as I was basically asking for a free consultation, but I figured what the hell. I'm glad I did. I spoke to their man Troy and he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Instead of just clamming up and not having a discussion without a scheduled appointment, he took the time to answer my questions best he could and give me some advice. I was able to find a hack online so I didn't have to replace the valve, so that's a bonus, as he wouldn't have been able to get to me until Monday. And since I have to travel again soon, it worked out best as it could. But if I need plumbing or heating in the future, guess who I'm going to see... Big Sky Plumbing & Heating!!! In fact, I'll be booking a boiler checkup as soon as I can sort out my schedule. Don't care what they charge. If everyone is as customer friendly as Troy there, you can't go wrong if you need plumbing. VERY impressed.

Very happy with the quality of their work and quick scheduling, we used them for a water softener and tankless water heater install.

My sewage ejector pump failed and they replaced it. I give them 5 stars for fixing the problem, 5 stars for making time for me quickly, and 5 stars for being clean in my house. I give them 1star for billing wasted time. Overall, they get 3 stars. Here is why they lost stars. I accurately told them on the phone that my ejector pump stopped working, and I expected them to come prepared to replace it. Their technician came to my house without a replacement. I got billed an extra hour because he needed to go back to the office to get a pump. The plumber worked very efficiently and skillfully during the time that he didn't waste driving around town.

Workmanship is disappointing. They refused to provide a parts and labor break-down even after completing an in-home inspection. Company was sold to new owner’s about one year ago so don’t assume you’re using the old 3 Brothers if you’re a repeat customer.

I literally cried tears of joy when Tristian finished our heat pump installation. I felt so well taken care of by 3 brothers. Of course they were safe and clean and responsible, but also I had heard horror stories about poorly installed heat pumps and I just did not have to worry with 3 Brothers. I live in an 1887 house which had a steam boiler that literally boiled water to get steam into radiators. It was SO inefficient our bills were often above $500 a month in winter. I got quotes from 4 places around town and didn't hesitate to go with 3 Brothers because even though we have an old house they were solution-oriented the whole way through the process and found unique places to put ducts and make sure we were going to be comfortable with our new system. Pics in this review show the right size of ducts, the duct sealing, the basement vents to keep the basement warm, the really clean connections from the outdoor heat pump to our house and the backup furnace and make up air. I have already recommended 3 Brothers to all my friends and family, they really know what they are doing! (P.s. I also used them a few years ago for a plumbing and shower install and they did great with that as well so I added that to the Google review checklist :))

We had a leak on a Friday evening and 3 brothers was the only shop that would schedule us after hours (We called every one in town). Zach arrived on Saturday morning and made a quick fix and only billed us for the work done. We had them back out to uninstall and install our dishwasher, adding shutoffs and new piping where needed. Also gave an honest assessment of our water heater, which made us feel confident they weren't trying to make a quick buck. Good experience overall.

This is a very poorly run company. I always try to support mom and pop operations but I can’t support poor business practices. I tried for months to pay for services rendered. Finally spoke to owner who replied he was too busy at the time. Two years later received an invoice. Very unprofessional.

Great experience with this company! I called and made an appointment for an estimate and Chris was out the next business day. He gave me estimate and ordered the replacement boiler. It came in earlier than expected and 2 days later the work began with his two plumbers. They were professional, very competent and willing to do whatever necessary to ensure I had heat quickly. A day and a half later all was completed and the final bill was almost $400 less than the original bid. They will be my first choice for referrals or any additional work I may require. Thanks so much guys!

As a local remodel contractor, the plumbing is usually the principle consideration on kitchens and bath projects. Chris and his team ALWAYS have my back. From an accidental rupture to a full boiler system. These guys bring professional, value and experience to every job! You’ll be in good hands!

Verify Availability Before You Call

Professional Drain Cleaning in Helena, Montana

Living in the shadow of Mount Helena, homeowners know that plumbing issues can strike at any time, especially with our unique mountain terrain and diverse range of property ages. Finding a reliable plumber shouldn't be a game of phone tag. Our service takes the guesswork out of home maintenance by pre-screening certified professionals throughout Montana's state capital to ensure your drains are flowing freely.

We specialize in connecting you with Helena experts who are actually ready to work. By filtering our network by your specific zip code, we pinpoint the nearest available technician. We don't just provide a list; we call them to confirm they can handle your specific drain emergency today, ensuring you get the 24-hour support you deserve without the typical wait times.

Common Drain Issues in Helena, Montana

Helena's water sources can sometimes lead to calcium and mineral scaling inside pipes. This hard water buildup slowly constricts the diameter of your drains in both historic downtown homes and newer developments, leading to sluggish water flow and frequent clogs.

In established neighborhoods like the Mansion District, mature trees are a staple of the landscape. However, these deep-reaching roots often seek out moisture, infiltrating aging sewer lines and causing significant blockages that require professional mechanical removal.

Montana's rapid freeze-thaw cycles cause the ground to shift significantly throughout the year. This movement can lead to cracked or misaligned pipes beneath your Helena property, creating 'bellies' that trap debris and cause recurring backups.

Many residences in the Helena valley still feature original clay or cast-iron piping. Over decades of use, these materials are prone to internal corrosion and grease buildup, which can lead to a total system failure if not maintained with professional cleaning.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Helena, Montana

Before the first heavy Helena snow, ensure your outdoor drains and gutters are clear of fallen leaves and pine needles to prevent ice damming and potential basement seepage.

During deep winter freezes, keep your indoor drains flowing by maintaining a consistent home temperature and insulating pipes in crawl spaces to prevent slushy blockages from forming in your waste lines.

As the snow melts off the Big Belts in the spring, check your sump pump and floor drains to ensure they are clear of debris and ready to handle the increased runoff common in the Helena area.

After summer BBQs in the backyard, avoid putting fibrous vegetable husks or cooking grease down the kitchen sink, as Helena's warmer months can cause organic matter to decay and create stubborn clogs more quickly.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Helena, Montana

$150-$475

Pricing in Helena typically depends on the severity of the clog, the equipment required (such as hydro-jetting vs. standard snaking), and whether you require emergency service during nights or weekends.
