I really couldn’t ask for better pluming service from Rick. I had a complicated sewer back up in a relatively remote location with a lot of unknowns. Rick was able to come out on short notice upon a recommendation and spent a lot of time working to diagnose our issue. He coordinated with people he knew in the city and other partners to fix a tricky backup. His experience and connections were critical to solving our problem in short order allowing us to get back to using our place for the holidays which we really appreciated. I’d highly recommend Rick and his team.

Called this morning because the sink in my business was backed up. Roto-Rooter arrived much earlier than expected (which was nice) and was able to unclog our sink. The technician that helped us, Jessie, was extremely professional, informative, and nice, and even identified a larger sewer issue we were experiencing and was able to get that unclogged at the same time. The price was also very fair for the services rendered. Thank you so much for your help and professionalism! I hope I won't need service in the future, but if I do Roto-Rooter will be my first call.

These guys are awesome! They showed up when they said they would and finished pretty quick. I needed a plumber to install a white water tank, hot water heater and water pump into the food trailer that me and my husband have been building. They came and got it done and they were very reasonably priced. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future for whatever plumbing issues come up. Thank you so much!

Kenny was great. He replaced a difficult hot water heater (tight space) and showed up when he said he would. However, about 2 months after the install, I went to the basement for the first time to change the furnace filter and there was water everywhere. Everywhere. No idea how long it had been going. It was spraying out of the connection point (a new hex socket with the barcode on it). I sent Kenny a video of the leak blasting out. Kenny was out of town (obviously understandable). He said he wouldn’t be back in town for 12 days. I was in tears. Another plumber from a different company thankfully came over in 10 minutes, cut the socket out, and fixed the leak. I asked him if it was old plumbing or new plumbing, he hesitantly handed me the socket. There was an obvious crack in the socket under the barcode and it was a new part. I sent a photo to Kenny. He speculated that our water pressure was too high. I asked the other plumber, he said it's not. We also have galvanized plumbing in the home...high pressure would likely cause a problem anywhere else in the home before it would at a brand new socket. Kenny's response was "either way it's crappy. I feel bad regardless of what caused it" avoiding any direct accountability- which I understand for liability purposes- but contractors carry insurance for exact situations like this. 3 stars for not owning up for an honest mistake/accident and not following up. We ate the cost of another plumber fixing it and the cost of the mitigation. I don't like leaving anything less than 5 stars, but I also think this stuff matters.

I can't say enough positive about the entire company and our recent experience. We'd decided to upgrade our home's heating system to provide more efficient heating and add air conditioning which we've never needed during the summers "back in the ol' days". I contacted 3 other HVAC companies in Butte for proposals for installing a heat pump late last year under a deadline (to get the expiring tax rebate). Lockmer responded quickly, another company responded several weeks later (after Lockmer was already on the job) and the third contractor never responded at all. I accepted Lockmer's proposal and they scheduled us right away. The quickly got the job done (even the outside equipment installation in late December). Great crew from the office folks to Joe and his installers. My Dad was a local general contractor, so I grew up working construction with my Dad as a laborer and Carpenter, building my own house, and being a local small business owner, I know when the work is done right. I highly recommend Lockmer to "get'r done and done right". We love our new heat pump. Dan & Barb

This company is 1st class! from their office staff, calling to setup an appointment, follow through with a call back once they did some research about the heater manufacture (Rinnai Propane gas furnace - Lockmer was actually able to save me the cost of the parts after checking with manufacture regarding what were covered parts), to their very experienced service technician (he was kind, professional, and thorough), to the ability to call the office and pay the invoice directly with an electronic auto debt. A very professional company I will refer to all my friends. Thanks Lockmer!!!

If I could leave zero stars if I would. This company scams you and charges 860 dollars for 1 hour of labor. I spoke to the receptionist two different ones who were unprofessional and rude. They claimed since I signed the proposal it didn't matter that they said it was suppose to be 6 to 8 hours of labor and it took less than one. So the bill for 1 hour of work and supplies was well over 1100 dollars. They laughed and thought it was funny I was upset. We literally have them on security camera and they were there for 1 hour. $860 dollars for one hour??? Good luck with the judge taking your side with our camera recordings and itemized reciept showing your thieving ways. I can't wait to go to court!

Professional Drain Cleaning in Butte-Silver Bow, Montana

Dealing with a clogged drain in the 'Richest Hill on Earth' shouldn't feel like a mining expedition. In Butte-Silver Bow, homeowners often struggle to find a reliable plumber who isn't already backed up with commercial contracts or emergency repairs. Whether you are living in a beautifully restored historic home in Uptown or a newer build closer to the Flat, a slow drain can disrupt your entire day. Our service takes the guesswork out of the process by filtering our network of local experts specifically by your zip code.

We don't just give you a list of names; we do the legwork for you. We actively verify which certified plumbers in the Butte-Silver Bow area are available for 24-hour service and can solve your specific issue immediately. By the time we connect you, you can rest assured that a technician is ready to head your way, saving you from making dozens of frustrating phone calls during a plumbing crisis.

Common Drain Issues in Butte-Silver Bow, Montana

Historic Pipe Decay: Many homes in Uptown Butte feature aging clay or cast iron sewer lines. Over decades, these pipes can corrode or collapse, leading to frequent backups that require professional snaking or camera inspections to identify deep-seated structural issues.

Mineral Scaling and Hard Water: The local water supply in Silver Bow County can sometimes lead to significant mineral buildup inside pipes. This scale narrows the diameter of your drains over time, making it easier for hair and soap scum to create stubborn blockages that store-bought cleaners can't touch.

Extreme Winter Freezing: Butte's legendary Montana winters are more than just cold; they are brutal on plumbing. Drains located near exterior walls or in crawlspaces can partially freeze, causing slow drainage or complete backups that require specialized thawing and cleaning equipment.

Sediment from Snowmelt: During the spring thaw, heavy runoff can sometimes overwhelm residential exterior drains or basement floor drains in lower-lying areas of the city. If your sump pump or floor drain isn't clear, you risk localized flooding as the snow disappears from the surrounding mountains.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Butte-Silver Bow, Montana

Prepare for the Butte Freeze: Before the first major cold snap in October, ensure all outdoor hoses are disconnected and any exposed drain pipes in unheated areas like basements or crawlspaces are properly insulated to prevent ice-related backups.

Manage Spring Runoff: As the snow melts off the Highland Mountains, check your basement floor drains and area drains for debris. Clearing out silt and gravel now can prevent a backup when the heavy spring rains hit the Silver Bow creek drainage area.

Fall Gutter and Drain Clearing: Before the first heavy snowfall, clear all leaves and debris from your roof gutters and downspout drains. In Butte, trapped moisture in these lines can freeze solid, leading to ice dams and drainage failures that last until May.

Holiday Kitchen Care: During the busy winter hosting season, avoid putting grease or fibrous vegetable scraps down your Butte kitchen sink. The cold ground temperatures cause grease to solidify much faster in your pipes than it would in the summer months.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Butte-Silver Bow, Montana

$145-$475

Standard drain snaking in Butte-Silver Bow typically ranges from $145 to $250. More intensive services like hydro-jetting for main line blockages or emergency after-hours calls in remote parts of the county can range from $350 to $475.
