Stephen was great. We found him on Angie's list and he called us with in 5 minutes. His estimated time for arrival was within the next 3 hours! We had two clogged drains and another plumber told us that it required going on the roof. Stephen had the right tools and skills and was able to clear everything from under the house and within the house. He gave us solid advise ab out our 50 year old plumbing and frankly a well needed reality check. Stephen was friendly, polite, and quick with a funny story. I appreciate that level of customer service. As I mentioned he gave us about a 1.5 hour window and he arrived smack in the middle. But here is the best part, his price was lower then we expected and very fair. We have given his name to others now, and will absolutely call him back when we have our next issue.

Make ASAP your first call!!!!! Great service! Fast, affordable and early! We had a leak from our outside faucet and had to shut off the water to the house until it could be fixed. ASAP answered the call for help and was at our house within hours of the call. The faucet was replaced quickly and efficiently and for less than others had quoted. I'd highly recommend ASAP.

Highly recommend Powells (formally Norfolk, plumbing). I had a clogged kitchen sink that was slow draining for a month. I tried every product on the market & tried to snake it (all Unsuccessfully). After washing dishes in the bathtub for a few weeks, (too busy & hoping it would magically just get better (haha), the final straw was when my washer overflowed from the drain tube going into wall, All over my laundry floor. I needed someone to rescue me. I called Powells per many great recommendations by a client, NextDoor & google and made an appointment. They came out the very next day. The guys (Wes & Jason) got everything fixed in a few hours. They were knowledgeable & professional. I felt like the price was fair, and I did not feel taken advantage of. I would definitely use them again in the future. It was about $800 for snake of main line and washer and sink lines as well as installing a new/additional 2 way cleanout under the house. Original quote was $400 but once they got into it , it required much more work and more hours. Thanks Wes & Jason. I have peace of mind now!! Worth every penny! And that kind of work is Gross!! Lol Well deserved $

I had an amazing experience with Powell’s Plumbing! Plumbers Miles and Jason came to my home to fix a clogged bathtub drain, kitchen sink, and secure the hose of my washer—all in under an hour! I was so impressed by how quickly and efficiently they worked. Not only did they get everything working perfectly, but they also took the time to explain what they were doing and answered all my questions. Their service was top-notch, and the pricing was incredibly affordable. I can't recommend them enough for any plumbing needs! Excellent service, great value, and such a professional team. Thank you, Powell's Plumbing!

Absolute lifesaver! Came home from vacation to half of our home flooded with waste water. I was terrified it was a septic issue and couldn't be quickly resolved, I also had an inkling that a lot of the plumbing, electrical, additions, etc weren't exactly to code and thus could not be fixed. We were told they couldnt arrive for 3 days, but ended up coming a day sooner. They resolved it within a few hours! And when the backup reached the addition and flooded our laundry room, they were able to come the next day to inspect and had the supplies and repair done the day after! And the technician/plumber was an absolute peach! His name is Weston and I felt completely safe having him in my home. No bad vibes whatsoever and he was so easy to talk to. I cant speak to the price, as our landlord paid for it, but really any price was worth the service in my opinion. Really helped us in a pinch.

My experience with Newman's Plumbing has been phenomenal. Melissa, David, and JT were spectacular working with me. They provided so much information and guidance that ultimately saved me a lot of time and money. As a new homeowner, I am still learning the ropes of the do's and don'ts, especially with plumbing. Melissa was incredibly informative and directed me to exactly where I needed to go and how to contact the city to help assist the issue, and David and JT showed up and not only explained the problem, but went into detail about how it's created and how to solve/prevent clogs and build-ups again. I will definitely be using them for any of my future plumbing needs!

I called Newmans on a Sunday after our water heater made a popping noise then started spurting water. I left a message and then they returned my call quickly. The girl that called back (Denise) I think was her name, was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the issue. She thought it could be fixed and maybe we didn’t need a replacement. She had a technician call my husband and then sent him over to check out the issue first hand. We definitely needed a replacement and was told they could have it done by Tuesday and possibly Monday. Got a call Monday morning that they were on their way. It’s all installed and the whole process was handled well by everyone at Newmans plumbing. They were very helpful, honest and kept in constant communication. I posted the price online to see if it was fair for what I was getting done without naming their company. It seemed to fall pretty close to what others had paid for the same service. I had other business professionals contact me and offer to do the job cheaper but since Newman was so good to us we stayed with them. We appreciate good communication and honesty. Even some of the contractors that contacted me said the John Newman was a good guy!

WOW! And I mean this in the BEST way! Truly a God send, indeed. The gentlemen assigned to my trouble call was Rich and James. I appreciate their patience, although I take full accountability for not communicating effectively about my tardiness. They immediately got down to business, spoke about the issues in a way i could understand, and were transparent about the cost of all the work. Down to earth, easy to talk to, and compassion; qualities that are rare but for me always appreciated. Melissa (business owner) keep shining your light and to the gentlemen Rich and James thank you again for your patience, kindness and understanding. You all blessed me on a stressful, chaotic day. Thank you again

I found myself unable to turn off our shower early in the morning and decided to give Corey a call. He answered my call, even though it was early, and came by soon after to take a look. CNS plumbing offered immediate service and was able to resolve the issue promptly, even though my hardware was older and more complicated (Grohe). He willingly drove to several stores to find the unique cartridge for my shower and came back to replace it. Corey was knowledgeable, professional, fair and trustworthy which are qualities that are hard to find in this industry. Highly recommend them!

Professional Drain Cleaning in Suffolk, Virginia

Suffolk is a city defined by its unique geography, stretching from the bustling areas of Northern Suffolk to the historic downtown and the edges of the Great Dismal Swamp. Because our city is so sprawling, finding a plumber who can actually make it to your specific neighborhood—and do so today—can be a logistical nightmare. That is where our specialized verification service comes in.

We understand that a backed-up sink or a clogged main line in a home near the Nansemond River requires immediate attention. Instead of you spending your afternoon calling every listing in the Tidewater area, we use our proprietary system to filter our network of certified plumbers by your exact Suffolk zip code. We then personally call them to confirm they have an open slot and the right equipment to handle your specific drain issue before we ever connect you.

Common Drain Issues in Suffolk, Virginia

Tree Root Intrusion: In many of Suffolk’s established neighborhoods, the lush, mature trees that provide so much shade also present a major threat to underground sewer lines. Roots naturally seek out moisture, often infiltrating older clay or cast-iron pipes, leading to slow drains or complete main line blockages.

Hard Water Mineral Scaling: While Suffolk's water is treated, many residents still experience mineral buildup over time. These deposits can narrow the interior diameter of your pipes, catching hair and soap scum more easily and leading to stubborn clogs that a simple plunger cannot fix.

Kitchen Grease and Disposal Issues: With a local culture that loves home-cooked meals, Suffolk kitchens often take a beating. High humidity in the Virginia summers can affect how grease and fats solidify within your plumbing system, creating thick 'fatbergs' that require professional snaking or hydro-jetting.

Stormwater Silt and Debris: Suffolk is no stranger to heavy Virginia rainstorms and occasional hurricane remnants. These weather events often wash silt, sand, and organic debris into outdoor basement drains or patio area drains, causing localized flooding when the drainage system becomes overwhelmed.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Suffolk, Virginia

Spring Cleaning for Drains: After the heavy pollen season in Virginia, ensure your outdoor area drains and gutters are clear of yellow dust and debris to prevent backup during spring thunderstorms.

Summer Disposal Care: With Suffolk's abundance of fresh summer produce, remember to avoid putting fibrous vegetable scraps like corn husks or celery down the garbage disposal, as these are leading causes of summer kitchen clogs.

Fall Leaf Maintenance: As the leaves drop, ensure your exterior sewer cleanouts are tightly capped and that yard drains are clear to prevent localized flooding during late-season coastal storms.

Winter Pipe Protection: While Suffolk winters are relatively mild, the occasional hard freeze can cause standing water in clogged drains to expand. Ensure your drains are flowing freely before the first cold snap to avoid pipe bursts.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Suffolk, Virginia

$145-$475

Prices in Suffolk typically range based on the severity of the clog. A simple sink snake is on the lower end, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting services required for heavy root intrusion represent the higher end of the scale.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Suffolk, Virginia

How do I know the plumber can come to my home in Suffolk today?

That is the core of our service. We don't just give you a list; we call the certified plumbers in our Suffolk network and verify their current schedule against your specific zip code before we confirm the service for you.

Do you cover all areas of Suffolk, including Chuckatuck and Whaleyville?

Yes. Suffolk is the largest city in Virginia by land area, which is why our zip code filtering is so important. We verify plumbers who specifically service your local neighborhood, whether you are in Harbour View, Holland, or downtown.

What is the most common cause of drain clogs in Suffolk homes?

We find that root intrusion from our local oak and pine trees is a major factor for older homes, while grease buildup and hard water scale are common issues across the newer developments in Northern Suffolk.

Are the plumbers in your network licensed for work in Virginia?

Absolutely. We only scan and verify plumbers who are fully certified and licensed to operate in the state of Virginia, ensuring they meet all local building codes and standards.

Is emergency 24-hour drain cleaning available?

Yes. Our system is designed to identify and verify plumbers who offer 24-hour emergency services in Suffolk, so you aren't left waiting until Monday morning for a critical sewer backup.
