Two Brothers Home Services
280 Shen Elk Plaza, Elkton, VA 22827, USA
(540) 384-4670I don’t normally leave reviews, but when I do, that means Ive had a phenomenal experience. Colby from 2 Brothers Plumbing was called to my home that i’m currently in the process of moving into. There was a toilet leak in my spare bathroom that happened and started around midnight yesterday. I heard bubbling in my primary bathroom toilet and smelled strong odor of sewer smell. Water started to rise through drain in tub as well. I contacted my property manager and 2 Brothers Plumbing are who we are contracted through, and thank God we are! I received a phone call from Colby at 12:38 PM. He let me know that he was on his way to my request for maintenance at my unit and asked what seemed to be the problem I was experiencing? I explained, I was also working and my mom and grandfather were at the store waiting on his arrival. Upon arrival, Colby was awaiting for my mom to return back from the store and he automatically started checking the sewer line outside of my home based off what I was telling him. He found the problem, fixed it and then proceeded to wait for my mom. As he waited, he went above and beyond, still outside of my home, crawled in the crawl space under my home to check for any leaks. While Colby was checking, my mom and grandfather arrived. To their surprise, Colby was still working and checking into under my home. He updated my mom and grandfather on what he saw and the condition of his under my home looked. After, he then moved into my home for the issue with the toilet. I threw a wrench in last minute and asked if he could check on the slow drip I have going on from water faucet out back and to check plumbing under kitchen sink. Colby inspected, went to the store, came back and fixed all these problems! My mom tested out the water for the first time in my home and discovered that I had water shooting all out from both of ny shower heads. She immediately notified Colby and Colby left me a new home gift of replacing both my shower heads in my home! I came home to a better functioning home and I seriously cannot be any happier with my experience! If you are thinking of using this company, do it! You will not regret it and you would be lucky to get Colby to come and help you out! Great experience, hospitality, and accommodation! Thank you once again!
5 months agoThey came out to clear our main drain line that kept backing up. Quick response and turnaround time, they got everything cleared and fixed on that same day. Would recommend and use again.
4 months agoWe woke up on a holiday to a flood in our basement - the water heater had finally given up. We didn’t know what to do so we got a recommendation to call two brothers and we did. They were gracious, came out right away and installed a new water heater same day. They were fair in their pricing and did not take advantage of three women on a holiday who were obviously desperate. I would recommend them again and again. Thank you Two Brothers!
4 months agoGreen Plumbing Services
1045 Smithland Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, USA
(540) 383-1464Last week, we hired Green Plumbing Services to replace our water heater. Complicating this project was the fact that the water heater had to be lowered through a hatch door in our deck. The opening in the deck would only allow a 28-gallon water heater. We thought we might have to get two installed in parallel, but that would have required additional electric service. Jesse and his brother were able to remove the hatch door, enlarge the opening, and install a 47-gallon water heater. Additionally, impressive was the respect the guys showed for our property. At the end of the job, they left our deck looking better than they found it. Jesse even went as far as to remove his shoes before coming into the house so as not to track dirt inside. GREAT JOB. MUCH APPRECIATED.
6 months agoGreen pluming services are great to work with .They work hard .They get to you fast and they do a great job. I had two water heaters 23 years old leaking and ready to blow in a tight spot under my house .I called them at 8:00 am , they took the job, showed up by 12:30 and by 5:00 pm same day I had two new ones in place at a fair price. I spent most of the time with them just trying to help on the sideline if I could . So I got to know them well ..They are great guys !. It was not a good place to have to install a twin system . Very tight and only a 4 ft. tall but they took it on like champs . Many thanks guys ! I highly recommend them . Best of the best !
7 months agoIf you’re looking for a plumber look no further! These guys were great, we were without water, they responded right away, they quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it! 3211 Peoples Dr STE 120, Harrisonburg, VA 22801, USA
(540) 530-4517Amazing service. Notification with picture of repair guy, quick and efficient, gave us total cost before repair and explained the issues , got parts and repaired . Also called this morning and same day service. Definitely will use these guys again. Thank you
3 months agoJason and Hunter were helpful and professional. They took the time to answer all of our questions. When we needed a new water heater, the service we received was prompt. We will definitely reach out again for our hvac/plumbing needs.
8 months agoWe connected with Solutions Mechanical through Rinnai, the tankless water heater company. Solutions Mechanical is a local certified installer for the Rinnai units. Since meeting with the employees we've had nothing but good experiences getting competitive quotes, friendly service, and quality work. Since having the Rinnai tankless gas water heater installed we have also purchased two replacement HVAC units; a gas furnace for downstairs and an electric heat pump for our upstairs. With both projects, Solutions Mechanical handled every aspect of the job, and answered all of our questions before we committed. Employees acquired, delivered, and installed every part with no issue. In each case, we knew beforehand what major changes were going to need to be made beyond just "install it." We knew electricity was going to need to be run to a new location, that a vent would need to be installed through our wall, that the gas line would need to be modified and expanded. We greatly appreciated knowing all of this before any work started. Because of such a great experience we expect to call them back for many home improvement projects that we have planned for the future. Obviously we highly recommend them!
9 years agoBlue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
370 Neff Ave Unit I Suite 12, Harrisonburg, VA 22801, USA
(540) 503-4758Communication was terrible unfortunately. I hope everyone is okay since we never heard from the repair person who was supposed to help us. Called in and requested an urgent visit. The call service said someone would be in touch. We received an automated text message, but that was it. In the next four hours, we called two more times simply asking if someone would be out that day. For a $189 urgent fee, I think that’s a reasonable request. Never heard anything, so we canceled with Blue Mountain. Unless there were extenuating circumstances, I would not recommend.
5 months agoWe had previously used a different plumbing company but saw lots of Blue Mountain vans in our area so we thought we would give them a try. Unfortunately, we believe they took advantage of us on the charges. We had a small intermittent leak from our toilet. We knew the float stem and flapper valve would need replacing to resolve the issue. Their technicians said it would cost $434, but they would waive the $129 service fee for the visit. My wife asked them for an itemization and they said that's what a toilet repair costs, no itemization! I recently had shoulder surgery or I would have done this repair myself. The replacement parts cost less than $50. So I could pay the $129 service fee and still have a leaky toilet and have to call another plumber who would also charge another service fee. We paid the $434 because it would be months before my shoulder will be ready for plumbing repairs. The repair took less than 30 minutes. We would not recommend this company for plumbing services. There either over priced or unscrupulous. Either way, we will never use them again.
7 months agoOur A/C stopped working, and Blue Mountain had someone at our house within an hour of calling! The tech showed up right on time, found the issue (a capacitor), had the part on hand, and fixed it immediately. Fast, professional, and super efficient. Highly recommend!

3101 John Wayland Hwy, Dayton, VA 22821, USA
(540) 705-7815I am struggling to figure out the best way to review this company without seeming overly-dramatic. Joel and his sons have done so much for me throughout our projects over the years. There are few companies that are as hard-working, honest and thoughtful as theirs. They may have a busy schedule from time to time, but their expertise and work is worth the wait. Well pumps, plumbing, electrical wiring and troubleshooting, breaker panel replacement and work, HVAC installations and repairs; they do it all.
9 months agoVery quick and professional service! They literally saved our house from burning down by fixing our electric receptacle that was melting at Christmas time. This company is very trustworthy and I would highly recommend them for a variety of services. 🫶
1 year agoThese are great folks to work with! Not much you throw at them that they can’t get fixed. Affordable and keep the customers cost in mind while still doing quality work. Their store front is a hidden gem. Convenient with affordable prices and proper advice of the DIY jobs.
1 year agoDry River Plumbing
835 Mason St Suite A, Dayton, VA 22821, USA
(540) 810-8863Dry River Plumbing in Dayton is the BEST. My experience with these guys is that they are always quick to respond as well as curteous and professional.! I had an issue with a basement apartment pump late in the day. I left a message and the man in charge called me back immediately the next morning and sent a technician to check the issue. He had it fixed in less than 10 minutes.
8 months agoBob has come to my rescue more than once. He is always timely, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. He usually know what the problem is even before he begins taking things apart. We're thankful for him.
7 months agoThey have done work for me at our business and for my house. Every time they are quick, professional and do great quality work! Highly recommend them!
7 months agoA-Able Plumbing Inc
137 N Main St, Broadway, VA 22815, USA
(540) 434-8080We have used A-Able at our office and at our home and have always had good quality work done. Would recommend for commercial or residential plumbing.
3 months agoJerry and Katie were both so great to work with! Great communication, very polite and professional. Quick turn around time from initial contact, to coming to look at the issue, and getting parts to complete the job. I would highly recommend!
1 year agoI shopped at Rocking R HW/Ace today on Rt. 42 in Harrisonburg. Their entrance was clearly marked that masks were required to enter. All in store were abiding EXCEPT 2 men with A-Able T-shirts on (truck in parking lot). I asked clerk if masks required. She said ‘yes, but we can’t enforce’. Called Able to speak with owner, only got answering service. Asked they relay my experience, and that I would never use Able due to this blatant disregard/disrespect for others, and that I would publicly share my experience. Just think, even if these guys wore a mask into your home, they didn’t wear them elsewhere.

Common Drain Issues in Harrisonburg, Virginia
Hard Water Mineral Buildup: Many Harrisonburg residents deal with the high mineral content common in the Shenandoah Valley. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits can narrow your pipes, leading to slow drains and frequent clogs that standard DIY solutions can't fix.
Tree Root Intrusion in Historic Districts: In older neighborhoods surrounding downtown Harrisonburg, mature trees are a staple of the landscape. Unfortunately, their roots often seek out moisture in aging sewer lines, causing significant blockages and potential pipe collapses that require professional intervention.
High-Occupancy Rental Stress: With a large student population at James Madison University and EMU, local rental properties often face heavy-duty clogs from grease, hair, and 'flushable' wipes. These high-use systems require frequent professional cleaning to prevent major backups during move-in and move-out seasons.
Basement Floor Drain Backups: Given the hilly terrain of Harrisonburg, many homes feature basements that rely on floor drains. During heavy Virginia rains, these drains can back up if they aren't kept clear of debris, leading to water damage in lower living levels.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Harrisonburg, Virginia
Winter Pipe Protection: Before the Valley's first hard freeze, ensure your outdoor hoses are disconnected and basement drains are clear. Harrisonburg's fluctuating winter temperatures can cause pipes to contract and expand, making existing clogs more likely to cause a burst.
Spring Rain Preparation: As the spring thaw and heavy rains hit the Blue Ridge region, check your basement sump pump and floor drains. Clearing out silt and sediment now will prevent your drainage system from being overwhelmed by seasonal runoff.
Summer High-Capacity Use: With JMU students returning and summer gatherings in full swing, your kitchen disposal and main lines work overtime. Avoid putting fibrous vegetables or grease down the drain, which can solidify quickly in the humid Virginia heat.
Autumn Leaf Management: As the leaves fall along Main Street and South High, ensure your external area drains and gutters are clear. Organic debris can easily wash into your drainage system, causing stubborn clogs before the snow arrives.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Harrisonburg, Virginia
The cost of drain cleaning in Harrisonburg typically depends on the location of the clog and the equipment needed. A simple sink snake is more affordable, while main line sewer cleaning or hydro-jetting for hard water scale will fall on the higher end of the spectrum.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Harrisonburg, Virginia
How quickly can I get a plumber to my Harrisonburg home?
Because we call and verify 24-hour availability with our Harrisonburg network before you even talk to them, we can often find a certified plumber who can be at your door within a few hours, even on weekends.
Does Harrisonburg's hard water affect my drains?
Yes, the Shenandoah Valley is known for hard water. Mineral scale can build up inside your pipes, creating a rough surface that catches hair and grease. We connect you with pros who specialize in descaling and deep-cleaning these mineral-clogged lines.
Can you find plumbers near the JMU or EMU campuses?
Absolutely. Our zip code filtering ensures we find technicians who are currently working in or near your specific neighborhood, whether it's Old South High, Sunset Heights, or the newer developments near Stone Spring.
What is the most common cause of sewer backups in Harrisonburg?
In Harrisonburg's older neighborhoods, tree roots are the primary culprit. In newer areas, clogs are often caused by the buildup of fats, oils, and non-flushable wipes. Our verified plumbers use camera inspections to find the exact cause.
Are the plumbers in your network licensed to work in Virginia?
Yes, we only scan a network of certified, local professionals who are fully licensed and insured to provide plumbing and drain cleaning services within the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Harrisonburg.
