We recently had our main water line replaced and chose Roto-Rooter because of the initial communication process. We really liked the call ahead and picture of the technician which led us to believe they had a high level of service and pride in their job and company. We decided not to shop around and immediately went with Roto- Rooter despite the price tag seemingly higher than competitors. $6150. They promptly started digging on that Saturday but it started raining so we all agreed to restart the job Monday. The technician arrived around 10am Monday morning and spent the next 6 hours digging. When asked why they didn't use machinery we were told it would cut into his commission check if he used a machine. This was frustrating to hear because we have a 5 month old at home and was hoping water would only need to be shut off for a day. By 10pm we sent them home. Too be fair, my husband was initially adamant that they get the job done no matter how late but we didn't anticipate the water not being on by 9pm. My recommendation would be better communication. If they would have told us the water won't be on before nightfall , we could have came up with a gameplan because again we have a 5 month old and I needed to wash bottles and pump parts. Due to scheduled appointments on my part, they couldn't come out until after 1pm the next day. Finally the owner showed up around 4pm and we got water back on around 7pm. The low rating and reason I would not recommend roto rooter is lack of communication during the job but more important lack of consideration for our home. It's a dirty job and they left our house a dirty mess. They walked throughout the house with muddy boots until the owner showed up and had booties on but that was too late. It had already been a day. The Carpet had stains, the handrails and door handles also had stains. Everyone was nice but when you're paying $6,000 you expect a level of service and experience to be there too..

Lawrence was very professional and repaired our faucet very quickly. We had to shut the water off earlier in the day so having this repaired so fast was very much appreciated. Lawrence was also very knowledgeable and told us if we were nor satisfied with anything he did in the repair that he would make it right. This day and time we were happy to see someone care about the work they do. We would definitely call this company and serviceman in the future if we needed their services.

I trust Aquarius with all my plumbing work for over a decade and recommend them to everyone. They usually come out quickly, they charge fair prices, and they always know what they are doing. They are also good people, and can sometimes make me laugh, which counts for a lot.

Fantastic experience with Aquarius! They were out three times and were fast to respond, on time, very reasonable on price, and did high-quality work each time. They got all the issues with our old house resolved with no hassle. Highly recommend!

Showed up late but very efficient at their job I do feel it was over priced. I understand you are not paying for the time taken to do the job but for the years of training and all that encompasses owning a business. But when you show up late the job takes 30 mins parts were two rubber seals probably bought at bulk for $2. Morally how can you charge $200 for that? Is the going rate for plumber labor $400 an hour now. I’ve used them in the past for a job that was a lot more complicated than this one yet cost less. Hate to say I will no longer be a repeat customer.

Horrible. I called because I needed a sump pump and hot water heater replaced. I thought I was getting someone out to give an estimate. I already knew they needed to be replaced. They sent service technicians out. I said I just need a quote on how much is this is gonna cost. And I need to know what products you use so I can research them. I then decided to use them and got no return phone call or text. Apparently there was a family emergency, which is fine, but I needed them now replaced urgently because the hot water tank started leaking. I had to use another company. I got a call months later that I owed them money. I asked for what you guys didn’t provide any service to me. I was told they were gonna look into it and I’d get a call back. I never did so I figured it was handled. Months later I get another callback saying I’m outstanding on my bill. I explained the situation again and said I’ve never even been billed for services. Turns out they wrote down the wrong email address. In all honesty, I never should’ve paid the bill. I have a legal plan through my work and I should’ve just used it because I thought I was just getting somebody out to give an estimate. I didn’t need a service call, but I just didn’t feel like fooling with it anymore. I found an amazing plumber that I will use for life. So thankfully, I never have to use them again. Lesson learned.

Verify Availability Before You Call

Professional Drain Cleaning in Blacksburg, Virginia

Finding a reliable plumber in the New River Valley shouldn't feel like a chore. Whether you are a homeowner in Hethwood, a landlord near the Virginia Tech campus, or living in the heart of downtown Blacksburg, a clogged drain can disrupt your entire day. Our service eliminates the frustration of 'no-shows' and 'fully booked' windows by doing the legwork for you.

We maintain a curated network of certified drain specialists across Blacksburg and Montgomery County. When you reach out, we don't just give you a list of names; we filter our experts by your specific zip code and personally call them to verify they are available to fix your issue immediately. This ensures that when we connect you, the plumber is ready to head your way with the right tools for the job.

Common Drain Issues in Blacksburg, Virginia

Older homes near the Northside and downtown Blacksburg often contend with aging clay or cast-iron pipes. Over time, these lines can shift or deteriorate, leading to frequent backups that require more than just a simple plunge. Our verified plumbers specialize in diagnosing these structural issues quickly.

In the heavily wooded neighborhoods surrounding the Jefferson National Forest, invasive tree roots are a primary culprit for sewer line blockages. Roots seek out the moisture in your pipes, creating stubborn clogs that can cause sewage to back up into your home if not treated with professional augering or hydro-jetting.

With Blacksburg being a major hub for student housing, high-occupancy rentals often face unique drain stresses. From kitchen sinks clogged with cooking grease to bathroom drains packed with hair and foreign objects, the high-volume usage in these properties requires heavy-duty cleaning solutions that standard over-the-counter chemicals can't handle.

Blacksburg residents also deal with the effects of regional hard water. Mineral buildup can narrow the interior of your pipes over several years, slowing drainage and making it easier for debris to snag and create a full-blown blockage. Our network includes experts who can desale your pipes and restore full flow.

Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Blacksburg, Virginia

Before the Appalachian winters settle in, ensure your outdoor drains and basement floor drains are clear of fallen leaves and debris to prevent ice dams and localized flooding during the thaw.

During Virginia Tech's home game weekends and graduation seasons, your plumbing system works overtime. Have your main line inspected and cleared before hosting large groups to avoid an embarrassing and messy plumbing emergency.

Spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains brings heavy rainfall. Check your sump pump discharge line and area drains to ensure they are clear, as a backup during a mountain storm can lead to quick basement flooding.

In the summer heat, avoid putting fibrous vegetables like corn husks or celery down the garbage disposal. These can easily tangle in the blades and lead to a mid-summer kitchen sink backup that requires professional clearing.

Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Blacksburg, Virginia

$165-$475

The cost for drain cleaning in Blacksburg typically depends on the severity of the clog and the equipment required (such as motorized snakes vs. hydro-jetting). Emergency after-hours calls or main sewer line access may increase the total.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Blacksburg, Virginia
