Anytime Plumbing & Drain Cleaning
4330 Gateway Dr, Grand Forks, ND 58203, USA
(701) 795-1735Awful work, showed up several hours late, and I had to call 3 plumbers after Anytime Plumbing. The sewer was backed up and located in excess of 100’ from the floor drain. Anytime only cleared 25-30’, so the job was not performed. Then the call center woman was rude to my wife when she was attempting to pay the bill. I will never use their service again and I will advise anyone and everyone to not use their services.
7 months agoCalled on Black Friday for an issue with our main drain pipe. Our sinks, washing machine and dishwasher weren't draining. I called and got what I believe was an answering service. He said there wasn't anyone on call and didn't offer any other options. Why do you have an answering service if no one is on call? That makes no sense. I don't consider that Anytime if you have limited hours and no one on call. Poor experience, will never try to use Anytime again.
6 years agoI now use Anytime Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. They are fast to get to your home, lay down drop cloths to ensure no mess, and clean up after themselves after each visit. Their employees are trustworthy and friendly. I have never had a single complaint and will continue to use their services. Another positive note is their prices. There are several places in town with sales teams as part of the process and through-the-roof pricing. This is my first option each time for my plumbing needs.
3 years agoDrain Savers LLC & Advanced Plumbing Solutions
4344 16th Ave N, Grand Forks, ND 58203, USA
(701) 765-3227Had another company inspect our water heater that stopped working and they weren't much help. Suggested changing a part, did that and still had issues. Called Drain Savers and they were very fast to respond and schedule an appointment for the next day. Josh was very pleasant to work with and went above and beyond getting the issue taken care of for us, as quickly as he possibly could. He was in constant communication and explained the issue very thoroughly. Would highly recommend Drain Savers to anyone having plumbing issues of any kind. Very satisfied with the service received and the cost that was charged.
4 months agoHassle free, honest, and quick service. We had a broken drain pipe leading to water in the basement. These guys were at my house to address the issue within a few hours of my first phone call. Will be using in the future!

3 months agoBears Home Solutions
5510 1st Ave N, Grand Forks, ND 58203, USA
(701) 314-1448We cannot be more pleased with the experience we had with Bears. From finding out information about the Kozy Heat fireplace on their website to booking the sales call and install service. All appointments we communicated with us via text and included pictures of the service people who were coming over so we know they were part of the Bears team. Blaine and the install team did a wonderful job of removing our existing fireplace insert and installing the new one. They updated our venting and it was done properly. They worked well with Xcel energy as we had our new gas line run and they communicated with us all the way through. Everything was done cleanly and quickly.

Thank you for the many years of dependable service to our family. Highly recommended.

(701) 795-1735Jessie and the team are excellent to work with. They handle a couple of new houses for me each year, and the service has always been dependable and professional. Jessie is responsive, easy to coordinate with, and clearly knows the work inside and out. The crew is talented, efficient, and takes pride in doing the job right. Pricing has always been fair, and the quality of the work gives you confidence that everything was handled properly. It’s the kind of company you can rely on when you need the job done well. He checked both pipes in and out and scheduled us for yearly service. Professional and knowledgeable and not only that, they came within a couple of HOURS of our service call. Thank you !!!!!

1 year agoBeginning to end, very satisfied with this service. Quickly got on an install date that worked with my schedule. I had a new dishwasher delivered to my doorstep, shortly after installer Olivia showed up, she removed my old dishwasher, was prepared with shopvac for any water/debris issues. She took great care and consideration to not harm the flooring, doorframes, walls etc. She was familiar with the process, well prepared, friendly and pleasant as well as knowledgeable. She communicated well. She cleaned up the area where she worked when finished and took away all garbage. Highly recommend the company and kudos for this employee's performance.

Common Drain Issues in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Deep Winter Pipe Freezing: Grand Forks winters are legendary, and when temperatures plummet below zero, poorly insulated drain lines can freeze. This leads to ice blockages that cause immediate backups and potential pipe bursts if not handled by a pro with the right thawing equipment.
Red River Valley Clay Shifting: The heavy clay soil in the Grand Forks area is prone to significant expansion and contraction. This movement can cause underground sewer lines to shift or belly, leading to chronic slow drains and recurring clogs that simple plunging won't fix.
Historic Home Plumbing: In older Grand Forks neighborhoods near the city center, many homes still have original cast iron or even Orangeburg pipes. These materials are prone to internal scaling and corrosion, which snag hair and debris, causing frequent kitchen and bathroom blockages.
Sump Pump Failures: With the flat terrain and history of flooding in North Dakota, many homes rely heavily on sump pumps. If your perimeter drains or discharge lines get clogged with silt or roots, you face a major risk of basement flooding during the spring thaw.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Grand Forks, North Dakota
Fall Prep: Before the first North Dakota hard freeze, ensure all outdoor spigots are drained and hoses are disconnected to prevent ice from backing up into your indoor drain lines.
Spring Thaw Monitoring: As the snow melts in the Red River Valley, check your basement floor drains. High water tables can put pressure on your system; ensuring these drains are clear prevents spring sewer backups.
Summer Root Care: Grand Forks' older trees seek moisture during dry spells. If you have large trees in your yard, consider a preventative hydro-jetting every couple of years to clear out thirsty roots before they crack your pipes.
Winter Grease Awareness: During the cold months, grease solidifies much faster in your pipes. Avoid pouring any oils down the kitchen sink, as the sub-zero ground temperatures will turn that liquid fat into a solid pipe-blocker almost instantly.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Standard drain snaking in Grand Forks typically ranges from $150 to $250. More complex issues requiring hydro-jetting, camera inspections, or emergency after-hours service during a ND blizzard can increase costs to $450 or more.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Why is my drain slow during a Grand Forks cold snap?
It's likely that ice is forming in a portion of the pipe exposed to the cold or an exterior vent stack is frosted over. We verify plumbers who have the specific thawing equipment needed for North Dakota winters.
Can you find a plumber available on UND game days or weekends?
Yes. We know the city gets busy during hockey season and weekends, so we call the local plumbers in our network to confirm they are actually on-call and ready to head to your location before we connect you.
Do you cover all of Grand Forks, including the Air Force Base?
We filter by zip code across the entire Greater Grand Forks area. By entering your specific zip, we ensure the plumbers we contact are willing and able to travel to your exact location, including the GFAFB area.
What is the most common cause of clogs in Grand Forks?
Beyond standard debris, the high mineral content in our local water can lead to scale buildup, and the shifting Red River clay can cause 'bellies' in lines that collect waste over time.
How do I know if I need a simple cleaning or a full sewer line repair?
If multiple drains in your home are backing up at once, it's likely a main line issue. The pros we verify can perform a camera inspection to give you an accurate diagnosis of whether it's a simple clog or a structural pipe issue.
