Top Rated Plumbers in Independence
Proline Plumbing LLC
210 SW Market St STE 136, Lee's Summit, MO 64063, USA
(816) 442-9653I'm a little late in posting this review but I have to share my experience with Proline as they helped me and my wife avoid a massive bill. I cant recommend them enough. I had one of the bigger name plumbing companies come look at a backup we were having in our basement through one of the drains....after they couldn't snake out the problem they had a guy come next day with his camera to have a look. After his review he told us that we had a 6 foot section of our main sewer line under our garage that had completely eroded the bottom of the pipe and it was just hitting the ground...meaning that the bottom of the pipe wasn't even there anymore. They also found some roots growing just outside of the house causing a blockage. They said we had to replace the entire main line under our house and then about 6 feet outside of the house. Of course our insurance wouldn't cover what was inside the house so the bill was going to be somewhere $12,000+. It was crushing news... A friend from work said I should get a second opinion and recommended Proline - they came out and showed me with the camera that the pipe was fine....old but fine....there was no 6 foot area where the pipe was eroded. They did find the same blockage of roots outside the house which was the reason for the backup. The other company straight up lied to us and the Proline folks were able to get us sorted for somewhere around $800. I would recommend them to anyone....good folks. My coworker had a similar story to mine and I'm sure somewhere deep in these reviews he wrote something similar.
4 months agoProline Plumbing literally rescued us two years ago when our sewer line backed up into the basement, causing several thousand dollars worth of damage and cleanup. They cleared our line of some thick tree roots and do a great job of annually keeping that line clear. So grateful! They are honest and do good work.
3 months agoWere great guys to work with. They worked hard to get my sewer pipe opened back up. Very professional. Price was very good. I will have them back if ever needed again.
1 month agoA.B. May Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical
7100 E 50th St, Kansas City, MO 64129, USA
(816) 413-1782Bait-and-Switch and Complete Lack of Transparency I contacted AB May for a main sewer line root service that they openly advertise as $79 for up to 100 feet, a service I have used with them before. When my tenant reported sewage backing up into the basement around 2:00 PM, I called AB May immediately. I was told they could not come until the next day and that someone needed to be available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. I coordinated this with the tenant, who stayed home all day. I even offered to compensate them for their time. When the technician finally arrived around noon the following day, he stated that yes, the main line needed to be rooted for $79—but that AB May now has a “new policy” for rental properties requiring a mandatory sewer camera inspection for an additional $150 before they would perform the advertised service. This $150 charge was never disclosed when I scheduled the service. I was never told it was mandatory, nor is it mentioned anywhere on their website or advertising. If this had been disclosed upfront, I would have declined the service and called another plumber immediately. I spoke with dispatch and a manager, both of whom acknowledged the policy but offered no resolution, despite the failure to disclose the charge in advance. By that point, the technician had already left. As a result, the tenant went over 24 hours without being able to flush toilets, with sewage in the basement, and I was forced to hire another plumbing company on an emergency basis at a higher cost. If AB May wants to charge $229 instead of $79, that is their choice—but it must be clearly disclosed upfront. Advertising one price and refusing service unless an undisclosed add-on is paid is unacceptable. This experience was extremely disappointing from what is supposed to be a reputable company. Transparency matters—especially in emergency situations involving health matters,

2 months agoJoseph Maya did an amazing job. He was professional and knew his stuff. I felt confident that he would do the job and do it well and he did not disappoint. We purchased a new double oven and did not know how to connect it and he came in and did an amazing job and took all of our worries away. The pictures show the before and after. This is the day before Thanksgiving so we are grateful that I can cook dinner in our new double oven. I would recommend Joseph again and again!
3 months agoHancock Brothers Plumbers
3015 NE Vivion Rd #5900, Kansas City, MO 64119, USA
(816) 670-4702Here's a rewritten version of the customer feedback, following all your requirements: --- Over the past few months, I’ve used this plumbing service in Kansas City for several jobs, and I’ve been really happy each time. Most recently, Mason came by and replaced three parts in my plumbing system. Luckily, they had everything on hand and were able to finish the repairs that same day. We also talked about possibly doing a full replacement later on, which I appreciate them bringing up so I can plan ahead. A while back, Douglas visited to clean out my pipes and drains. He arrived right on time, did the work quickly, and left everything neat and tidy. I always value when plumbers keep my home clean during and after the job. Earlier, I had them out to inspect my plumbing because I was having some issues with mold and buildup in my pipes. They did a thorough job and suggested a full cleaning of my drains and coils, which made a noticeable difference. On a previous visit, Chase replaced my sink trap. They had first come out months before and tightened it up, but I wanted a full replacement to avoid any future leaks. The new trap works perfectly and looks great under the sink. I also had a leak coming from my main pipe, and this company was the first to actually test and figure out exactly why the water was showing up randomly. They gave me a clear estimate and were available to fix the problem the same day. Each time, they left the area spotless, which I really appreciate. Overall, I highly recommend these plumbers in Kansas City for their prompt, professional, and thorough service.
1 month agoOutstanding plumbing service! I’d give them even more stars if I could. From start to finish, the plumbers kept me updated at every step and made sure I understood what was happening. Gregory, Chase, Douglas, and the rest of the team were extremely helpful, especially when it came to working with my billing and insurance to help me get the best possible coverage. Douglas did an amazing job with the plumbing work and even provided a video inspection of my sewer line, showing exactly why a new line was needed. He also went the extra mile by preparing a detailed plumbing report for my insurance, which was a special request and not something you see every day. The plumbing, water mitigation, and moving crews worked seamlessly together. Everyone was friendly, supportive, and eager to help. I highly recommend this Kansas City plumbing company to anyone needing reliable and professional service.
2 months agoHancock Brothers Plumbers did a fantastic job! I was able to quickly set up an appointment to have our tankless water heater looked at. Douglas did a thorough job diagnosing the problem and clearly explained what was going on. He recommended getting a replacement, and we decided to go ahead with it. The installation was scheduled right away for the following day. Chase and Gregory handled the installation, and they were both very professional and polite. Chase made sure to walk me through everything and patiently answered all my questions. I also recommend their membership plan, which helps with regular maintenance and can save you money down the road. Overall, I’m very pleased with the great service and attention to detail.
2 months agoInception Plumbing
733 S Northern Blvd, Independence, MO 64054, USA
(816) 357-1010Chris Mitchel did an amazing job. My wife was cleaning and accidentally flush down a small towel in the toilet drain and was backed up for a day. He came and thank BUDDHA he got it out! He was very polite and professional.
1 month agoBoth Christopher and Levin came out and I was very impressed with thier knowledge, Christopher even found our main line outside, which we had no idea where it was, saved us a lot of time and less expensive repair!! I was extremely pleased with the price and efficiency, definitely will use again and refer to others. Thanks so much!! I have to add we needed more work done than expected and all the technicians that came to do the work were professional, courteous, and communication was excellent, and the price for what we needed was more than fair. Thanks to all the tram at Inception Plumbing! Definitely have my business and will recommend!
1 month agoMy technician Chris was fantastic. He was very professional, throughly explained everything he was doing and patiently listened to my many concerns. 3 weeks agoPoor John's Plumbing
8701 NW Crest Dr, Parkville, MO 64152, USA
(816) 455-5420I needed a floor drain unclogged, and Poor John's Plumbing came to the rescue. Communication was excellent, and the tech who showed up was courteous, knowledgeable, and effective in getting the job done. I'll definitely call on these guys again when in need.
4 months agoShawn arrived on time and ran the snake through the family room floor drain line out a least 100 feet but found no significant blockage. He then ran it up through the vertical drain to the kitchen sink and at the top, hit the blockage releasing maybe a quart of black tar like residue with lots of food/garbage particles. He solved the problem and did his best to clean up the mess. No complainants. I didn't take any pictures, and you probably wouldn't want to see it anyway.
1 month agoI had a great experience with this plumbing company. They were extremely transparent from start to finish, clearly explaining the issue, the repair options, and the costs upfront with no surprises. The plumber took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I understood what was being done. It’s refreshing to work with a company that’s honest, straightforward, and professional. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable plumbing services.
2 months agoRoyalTee Plumbing
8725 NE Lathrop Dr, Kansas City, MO 64155, USA
(816) 681-1186RoyalTee Plumbing investigated sewer smell and recommended a new wax ring for the toilet. This is a 6 dollar part, and the quote was $357. I passed. This is an easy 20 minute job. I have many rental properties and really need a good plumbing company that is not RIDICULOUS in price. I could give them so much business. Their loss. I called them out of the blue because they had good reviews, but so disappointed.
3 months agoRoyalTee was recommended to me after another company couldn’t diagnosis my issue even after multiple visits, camera inspections, and various different techs giving it their best guess. Long story short, it’s looking like a damaged pipe the other company missed. Not the news I wanted to hear but I’m happy to finally have the answer I need in this months long ordeal. They also replaced my other toilet that was old while they were here. That was a super quick job. Update to prior review: The pipe has been repaired. The team that did the work were efficient and kept me informed along the way. The price was fair based on our research. I had a follow up concern and the team came back out quickly to assess and put my mind at ease. As Jasen said to me on his first visit after telling him the other company couldn’t help me “sounds like I have a new plumber.”
2 months agoBrad and Devon came to help upgrade our valves for the whole house shut off and the laundry room . They were honest, professional and fast. We really appreciated there help and giving our 1988 home a much needed important fix. We will see them again in the future!
6 months agoQuality Plumbing Inc
1731 Howell St, North Kansas City, MO 64116, USA
(816) 472-4994Not enough stars!! 🤩 Curtis & trainee Robert with Quality Plumbing did excellent work, were fast, and kept us on budget even though plumbing in our old house is notoriously tricky. Curtis was knowledgeable and willing to work with us mid-DIY project, he even took the time to explain how to move forward once their work was done, which we greatly appreciate. Both were friendly, and not pushy to add on additional services, which is great when you're on a tight budget. They were one of the best quotes we received for the project and they more than met our expectations. The saying goes "you get what you pay for" but I really feel like we got much more than our money's worth with Curtis & Rob from Quality Plumbing!!
2 months agoreplaced a 12 year old electric water heater (with a lot of sediment) with a tankless water heater. Got a good bid. Installation was as promised. Clean work. Explained everything to us after installation --- looking forward to many years of long showers! (BTW, used Quality Plumbing based on the recommendation of a friend -- they were right on target.)
1 month agoAfter calling three other plumbers to install a water softener, I called Quality Plumbing. I talked with a real person who told me I would be called back with an appointment as soon as she could work me in. I was called back within the hour. My tech was here at 8:00 this morning. The softener is installed and I am a happy customer.
2 weeks agoBill Fry The Plumbing Guy
2321 NE Independence Ave ste b, Lee's Summit, MO 64064, USA
(816) 549-2592I woke up on a Saturday morning and found that I had water running down my yard and driveway. I called the city of Independence and they came out to have me shut off to prevent major damage. Unfortunately they were unable to do so(my curbstop was broken as well as my line had burst). I then contacted several companies for estimates. Some came in at a slightly lower price for the job. However the technician Kyle I dealt with from Bill Fry was the clearly most knowledgeable of all I dealt with. I had attempted to get financial help though another company, and was denied. I then called back to Bill Fry's company and not only was I greeted with respect and understanding. The owner Dawn(Bills wife) got on the phone with me personally and made sure that all info for financial help was in there correct. I was approved in 2 minutes. The same day they called me back and had me booked for two days later. Chris and Aaron were the gentleman to come to my house to do the work. Not only were the right on time but they both got right into digging my yard with water still flowing down my driveway. Chris was clearly as skilled with a backhoe as a surgeon with a scalpel. Aaron was literally six feet down in a hole scooping mud and water by hand. I apologized many times for him to need to do that kind of thing. His response to me every time was don't worry about it I love to dig in the mud. Everyone that I dealt with during this whole process was super nice and the work was done before I came for my lunch break. Bill Fry the plumbing guy now has a client for life!!!! Anyone that I know has any plumbing issue will be referred to them. I thank you ALL SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!
3 weeks agoI was so pleased with my first service last week that when my water heater pipe developed a small gas leak I called them first. I live alone and being safe is my main concern. I don't like surprises. My home is older so I asked them to quote reworking all of the lines. Kyle Thouvenell came this morning to test all of my lines for leaks, discuss reworking my water heater, etc. He explained everything so thoroughly and is as personable and kind as you'd ever hope him to be. My anxiety over the gas leak disappeared once we got a plan put together. I preferred planning for what could happen as my pipes age, and Kyle didn't try to upsell me in the least. Rather he talked about the life expectancies of the gas lines and gave me options. I was able to make a decision and schedule the work then and there. What wonderful experiences I've had with Bill Fry the Plumbing Guy! ❤️
2 weeks agoMichael was on time , very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed talking with him for a few minutes after he fixed my issues (on the first visit). He also explained the benefits of joining the Bill Fry maintenance program. It is peace of mind and worth the annual cost. I will recommend Bill Fry the plumbing guy to anyone that will listen.

5 months agoAs Carolyn's daughter posting here, I was concrned at first that my elderly Mom had been ripped off. Turns out I was not correct. The technician was helpful, and with the issues in my Mom's home, he probably could have charged her more. Thank you, Fountain City, for your call and explanation this morning. Much appreciated!

4 months agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in Independence
Living in the 'Queen City of the Trails' means enjoying the historic charm of Independence, but for many homeowners, that charm comes with aging plumbing systems. Whether you are living near the historic Independence Square or in the newer residential developments near Little Blue Parkway, a clogged drain can bring your household to a standstill. Finding a reliable plumber shouldn't be another chore on your list. Our service revolutionizes how Independence residents handle plumbing emergencies. Instead of you spending your afternoon calling through a list of fifteen different plumbers only to be told they are booked solid, we do the work for you. We scan our network of certified local professionals, filter specifically for those serving your zip code, and personally call them to verify they can fix your drain right now. We confirm their availability before you ever have to pick up the phone.
Common Drain Issues in Independence
Historic Clay Pipe Deterioration: Many of the beautiful older homes in Independence still utilize original clay sewer lines. Over time, these pipes can crack or shift, leading to persistent clogs and slow-draining sinks that require professional-grade equipment to clear.
Aggressive Tree Root Intrusion: With the abundance of mature oaks and elms in our local neighborhoods, tree roots are a frequent culprit for main line blockages. These roots seek out moisture in your pipes, creating thick mats that trap waste and cause major backups.
Hard Water Scale Build-up: Missouri water can be mineral-heavy, leading to significant scale buildup inside your plumbing. Over the years, this narrowing of the pipes makes it much easier for hair, soap scum, and grease to create a total stoppage.
Basement Floor Drain Backups: Due to the rolling terrain and heavy storm patterns in Jackson County, basement floor drains are prone to backing up during heavy rains if they aren't kept perfectly clear. This can lead to costly water damage in finished basements.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Independence
Spring Prep: After the Missouri winter thaw, ensure your outdoor area drains and gutters are free of debris. This prevents heavy Independence spring rains from backing up into your basement.
Summer Disposal Care: During the peak of BBQ season, avoid putting fibrous husks or grease down your kitchen disposal. These are the leading causes of summer kitchen clogs in Missouri households.
Fall Leaf Management: As the leaves drop across Independence, keep your exterior drain grates clear. A buildup of local foliage can quickly turn a patio or driveway drain into a localized flood during an autumn storm.
Winter Pipe Protection: Before the Jackson County deep freeze arrives, insulate any exposed outdoor pipes. Frozen pipes can lead to cracks that only become apparent—and messy—once they thaw out in the spring.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Independence
Pricing in Independence typically depends on the location of the clog and the technology required. A simple sink snake is on the lower end, while main sewer line clearing or hydro-jetting represents the higher end of the scale.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Independence
How quickly can a plumber reach my home in Independence?
By verifying availability in real-time, we typically find pros who can be at your Independence doorstep within 2 to 4 hours of your request.
Do you serve all areas of Independence, MO?
Yes. We use zip code filtering to ensure the plumber we find is currently operating in your specific part of Independence, from the Truman Heritage District to the city limits.
Is emergency 24-hour drain cleaning available?
Absolutely. We specifically filter for plumbers who offer 24/7 emergency services and call them to ensure they can actually respond to your Independence home immediately.
Why shouldn't I just use a store-bought drain cleaner?
Many Independence homes have older metal or clay pipes. Harsh chemical cleaners can corrode these materials over time, leading to leaks that are much more expensive to fix than a professional cleaning.
Are the plumbers in your network licensed for Missouri?
Yes, we only work with certified, local professionals who are fully licensed and insured to perform plumbing work within the state of Missouri and the city of Independence.
