Top Rated Plumbers in Charleston, West Virginia
Jerry Hilbert LLC
2350 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302, USA
(304) 343-9150We've lived in WV for 4 years now and have an older home. Soon after we moved in we had a sewer line issue, after bringing in several plumbers in who couldn't figure out where the problem was, we called Jerry and he found it within an hour or two. He had a quote written up and had it fixed within a week or so and also helped us out on some other issues we had. Just recently, we sprung a waterline leak and he was over within a couple days, found the leak and had us up and going just days later, and again he preemptively solved another issue for us. His prices are reasonable, he and his team do excellent work, are easy to work with, knowledgeable and are very professional, when we have our next plumbing, heating etc.. problem, being an older home, it will happen, He's our first call to make, I highly recommend them for gas, heating and plumbing!
2 years agoThey were very nice guys. They cleaned out the sewer pipe leading from the house and after they left I realized the toilet was still clogged. I called and they came back immediately, apologized and cleaned it out going into the house and made sure everything was working properly before they left again. They didn’t even charge me again for the extra hour of work they had to put in after they came back. Would definitely use this company in the future.

4 months agoTruslow Plumbing Service & Home Improvement LLC
1725 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302, USA
(304) 786-9506All I can say is great service from these guys. I kept smelling sewer for almost a year and went through two other so called plumbers that couldn't diagnose or fix the problem, they actually made it worse. After thousand of dollars I called Truslow and they came out the following week and had my problem fixed in a few hours. If you have a plumbing or sewer issue give these guys a call. You won't regret it. I recommend them
3 months agoVery pleased with Truslow Plumbing. They did diagnostic with camera, explained what was wrong and what it was going to take to fix. I had a new septic tank put in May 2025 by another outfit. Started having issues by summer. The other company only put lime out to help with smell and did not respond to calls. Truslow Pmbg replaced the new tank and the 50 year old tank that was left. Besides not being installed correctly in May, no sand or gravel or leech field was put in. So this became a major job that was promptly addressed and installed correctly. They cleaned up afterwards and hosed all the mud away. I feel very confident that I won’t be having any more problems.
3 months agoGreg is always great. Anytime we have issues he is quick to respond. We had sewer back up and 100% clogged. His team worked hard 2 days straight till Christmas Eve to get us back up and home from a hotel.
5 months agoCheap Price Plumbing Services Charleston WV
17 Pinnacle Dr, Charleston, WV 25311, USA
(681) 221-2662The drain cleaning service was more thorough than the last company I used in Fort Collins. I appreciated that the technician showed me the blockage on the camera before starting the work. It took about an hour to clear the main line and they left the utility room cleaner than they found it.
3 months agoWe recently used this crew for a full water heater installation after our old unit finally gave up on us. The consultation was very informative and they helped us choose a model that actually fits our family needs better. The recovery of our hot water was faster than expected and the installation looks very clean and professional.
3 months agoPrecision Plumbing Services Fort Collins completed pool plumbing repair before the season started. Scheduling was easy and communication clear. The repair held during startup. Happy with the outcome.
3 months agoNexAir - Expert Plumbers
815 Quarrier St, Charleston, WV 25301, USA
(304) 358-0348In South Charleston, our sewer line needed replacement, and NexAir handled it flawlessly. They assessed the problem thoroughly, completed the work efficiently, and ensured everything was functioning properly. The team left the area clean and provided helpful advice for future maintenance. Highly recommend for plumbing services.
3 months agoOur hot water tank in Charleston stopped working unexpectedly, and NexAir - Expert Plumbers arrived promptly. They diagnosed the issue quickly and replaced it efficiently. The team explained how the system works and made sure everything was running safely. Their professionalism and attention to detail were impressive. We couldn’t be happier with the service.
3 months agoJordan with NexAir was great. He seemed to take his time and was enthusiastic in representing the company while diagnosing my issue. Unfortunately, he was unable to resolve the issue during the visit but did promptly provide the estimate I requested, answered questions in a knowledgeable way, and signed me up for their maintenance plan. I do feel the estimate was a bit steep, but the service was better than expected.
4 months agoMr. Rooter Plumbing of Charleston WV
815 Quarrier St, Charleston, WV 25301, USA
(304) 223-4004This was my 1st experience dealing with a sewer leak under my house. In a rush I was unable to ask around or look up for myself plumbers to help repair, so I ended up just calling down a list. A few places didn't take my issue serious and one company hung up on me. I called Mr Rooter and it rang busy. They immediately returned my call though and came by in hours to address the issue. After scheduling the full repair and explaining the process to me, I was imminencely impressed. The tech manager (Mike Ivy) that took on my mess was super polite and thorough with his explanations and breakdowns of the situation. He was able to get everything repaired and mess cleaned up like the leak never happened. I highly recommend both the company Mr Rooter and Mike Ivy if you have any need for a plumber.
3 months agoGreat reception. Fast response. Mike Ivy was very nice and informative to the options for my sewer line. Price was reasonable. Will definitely use again and highly recommend. Thanks!
3 months agoCalled Mr Rooters for a clogged toilet in my kids bathroom that wouldn’t plunge at 12:30 and they were able to show up and fix it within an hour. I’ve also used this business in the past year to disassemble an old water purification system under my kitchen sink and had great service. Highly recommended, friendly, reliable and knowledgeable.
7 months agoAl Marino Inc., Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical
1653 4th Ave, Charleston, WV 25387, USA
(304) 470-4696I have been a loyal customer of Al Marino for over 10 years. I have had some issues with them in the past but let them go without complaining. I called them out on 12-15-25 because my thermostate was out and my system was blowing cold air. The guy came out and spent maybe 40 minutes here if that and said there was water in something that he drained and it cost me $84.53. He said it was fixed for now and no explanation to why it happened. Not even an hour after he left, it was out again. I called again costing me $267.50 because it was an emergency call they said. The same guy came out and said a line was frozen. By this time my husband was home and said show me. The line was not frozen and shot liquid out. The guy said well you need a pump to which my husband said there is one connected to the system. Which seemed like a surprise to the guy. The guy didn't do anything and then left. I didn't even get a receipt for payment for this visit. So $352.03 down the drain for nothing from Al Marino and my system was still out. So my husband cleaned out a trap after the guy leaves and the system worked for several days. It went out again on 12-20-25. I called Al Marino out again costing me another $267.50 and I told them to send a different guy than the one who came out before. The guy comes out to check the system and says it needs another pump. After he had checked things out and said another pump needed to be installed I asked him if it was safe for me to continue resetting the limit switch to try to get it to work. He acted like he knew something else was wrong with the system other than needing a pump. But he told me that it was fine for me to do that just be careful because of the electricity. I say fine install another pump and he comes back the next day to install a pump we had purchased. Costing me $1066.09. Not 10 minutes after he leaves the system is out again. I called again and the guy comes back looks for a second and says you need a new furnace. By this point I have spent $1685.62 for nothing and call out another company. They knew right away what the problem was and recommended a new furnace. They also informed me that it was unsafe to use the furnace and not to use it by resetting the limit switch. So I recommend you save yourself time, money and a headache by calling another company.
5 months agoI received excellent service from this company today and Friday upon an HVAC installation issue at my home. The installation was not done by this company, but they were quick to help. They were very transparent about the process, what issues we could be facing, and extremely helpful in helping me to understand the steps and terminology. The gentlemen who responded were Seth, Reid, and Harrison. Highly recommend and will be using this company in the future if needed!!
3 months agoSeth from Al Marino showed up for a service call and was very helpful and respectful. Company truck looked professional and clean. $79 service charge for the visit seems reasonable. Seth kept me in the loop and informed. Would use them again if needed.
4 months agoWebb Plumbing Inc
6202 MacCorkle Ave, St Albans, WV 25177, USA
(304) 768-4324Webb Plumbing is probably the best I've ever dealt with. Brian and Justin were great and actually listened to me when telling them about the problem. I had a clogged pipe downstairs in my basement that was coming up through the shower drain. I knew where the clog was and because they listened, they were in and out in a total of 30 minutes. Other companies I had called never listened and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. and quoted me astronomical prices to fix a clog. I will always call Webb Plumbing (and request Brian) for all my future needs. Thank you, and thank you, Brian! :)
3 years agoPLEASE READ!!! After my experience I wrote the check for the invoice, sent it in with a 2 page letter explaining that I was not happy about how things went and they never took the time to write back, call or anything just cashed the check and forgot about it I'm sure. No free estate just to start a service charge, the guys were nice . I explained exactly what was wrong then when they came he said we'll if I knew what I needed I would have brought it so both of them left went back and was gone an hour I was charged for, doesn't seem to carry anything on the van for plumbing so they both left again and was gone 2 hours this time I was charged for, bought a saw blade they used to cut the line in half and charged me for but took with them, why would both workers leave both time and one not stay and work, I had the outside line dug up for them and then they half way covered back and I said are you not going to finish and their response was "oh do you want us to to" really I said I want the job finished. This place is one of my rentals and they left window open hose thru the window and a complete mess coming in and out especially in the bathroom which I had to clean up before my renter came home so I was charged $760 for time to do a clean out and a air vent outside and a total of $938, which in my opinion was about $300 too much, but nothing about any of that was said just quite out of them because they got their money.. I absolutely will not use them for my home or any of the 3 that I out and be careful if you do because they will overcharge you! I sent the letter and thought they would contact me but seems they don't care after they charge, I explained I don't like to post stuff online but since they didn't care about things I'm writing to say this. I like to use local contractors but it won't be them, I think if people boycott them a whole they might wake up, they might be fine to put in hot water heater or something like that but I wouldn't have them on my plumbing in and out either, he had to call someone for answers. I'm done I hope this will help someone understand my experience
1 year agoI had to get a gas line replaced. The guys were great. They worked with the gas company to ensure everything was sealed and safe. They honored their quote and went the extra mile to ensure the work was done right. Excellent company!
1 year agoPlumbing Services Charleston West Virginia
4805 Brawland rd, Charleston, WV 25301, USA
(681) 317-8409The drain cleaning service was much more thorough than I expected. I’ve tried using store-bought liquids before but they never actually cleared the clog in the laundry room. Their technician explained why the buildup keeps happening and gave me some solid advice on maintenance. It took about forty-five minutes and everything is flowing perfectly now.
3 months agoWe needed a new water heater installation after our old unit finally gave out on a Tuesday night. The consultation was straightforward and they didn't try to upsell me on a tankless system I didn't need. The crew was respectful of my home and made sure the pilot light was working perfectly before they left.
3 months agoHad my old water heater replaced by Precision Plumbing last week. The team walked me through the options, explained the installation process, and finished faster than expected. Everything works perfectly, and I felt the pricing was fair and transparent. Definitely a stress-free experience.
3 months agoMullen Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
301 B St, South Charleston, WV 25303, USA
(304) 744-3221Thank you for making a bad situation better. Thank you for installing a proper sump pump and fixing the make shift one a local contractor did and wouldn’t fix. Gale & Lucky at Mullen Plumbing did Excellent work and were extremely professional in all aspects. Will definitely be my go to in the future!
3 months agoI was completely satisfied with the entire service! The receptionist who answered the phone was kind and helpful. She listened to everything I said and explained every part of their company procedures to me. I was told up front how much the diagnostic fee was and an estimate of how much it would cost to get the job done that I needed. They have standard 4 hour windows of time when they can show up, but they call you 30 mins before they head your way. The workers were nice, respectful, and easy to talk to. They wore boot covers every time they came inside and cleaned up well after the job. They walked me through each problem they found and how they were going to fix it. I was given the choice to opt out of any repair they wanted to do, and told I could choose to do any of it myself if I wanted. They even offered to add a new access panel to the shower pipes to make future work easier. The invoice was shown to me before they even started the job and each line item was explained and priced. The bill was a lot but I had 4 different things done so it wasn't unreasonable. They worked fast and efficiently and it all looked nice by the end too; no sloppy caulking or uneven cutting. Will definitely be my go-to plumbing service in the future!
3 months agoThe great service with a Mullen began with the scheduling of the appointment. Very professional, helpful and courteous admin staff. The service personnel were no different. We had toilet snd bathtub issues with this appointment and the Mullen team was able to correct both very quickly and affordably. I also appreciated the knowledge share regarding the underlying problem and repairs. It’s comfortable to know that a trusted team like Mullen is ready on standby for any future needs. Thanks guys.
5 months agoDarnoldLyons Heating Cooling
2570 Pennsylvania Ave Suite B, Charleston, WV 25302, USA
(304) 744-8474This company is FANTASTIC to work with! They respond quickly, handle things professionally. Tammy gets you scheduled quickly. I've had JR on sight as well as Alex and a couple other gentlemen. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional! I will choose Darnold Lyons every time!
4 months agoI want to say the techs that installed my new HVAC system (Randy & Andrew) did an excellent job. They were very professional and explained everything to me as they went. Randy helped me connect my phone to the thermostat via my WiFi and how to use the WiFi thermostat. They cleaned everything and hauled all the trash and old units away. I look forward to enjoying my new HVAC system. I would highly recommend Darnold & Lyons to anyone looking for a upgrade to their old HVAC system
4 months agohired them to install a new natural gas HVAC heating system for me. i was away for work at the time. when i returned home, none of the gas appliances were running. i called customer service and the manager did not believe me that their folks had messed up the gas lines, and told me i probably did not pay my bill and had to call the gas company. i argued with them for awhile, so they did send two men to look at it, and they said the gas line was 100% fine and it was a gas company problem. I called the gas company, and they did respond, and quickly saw that the repairmen had triggered the pin in the gas regulator to the home, so it had shut off gas to the house. none of the repairmen from D & L saw recognized this issue. they also did not bleed my lines of air when they finished the job. the gas company man helped me bleed the lines myself by giving me directions under the crawlspace at the heater, and through my kitchen window to get my stove working again, because obviously he's not allowed inside a home to work on appliances, but I was really at a loss. during that fiasco, while i was in the crawlspace, i did inspect the work D & L did while installing the HVAC system, and it was poor. the unit was piped in backwards so that the automatic shut off valve would not actually cut off gas to the unit if it was pulled. ducts were still damaged and not repaired in some parts. and one entire pipe was missed and not connected at all. it was behind a pillar so they said they did not see it at first. they came back and repaired all these things. now i do have a fully functioning, good HVAC system, so they did "make it right" - but i would certainly not use them. the manager was very disrespectful accusing me of not paying my bill, and in general gas lighting me that their was no way there was an issue with their work since their guy had 20+ years experience (with the connotation that i am a 33 year old woman who knows nothing about HVAC). communication was disrespectful.
3 months agoProfessional Drain Cleaning in Charleston, West Virginia
Charleston homeowners know that between the historic charm of the East End and the busy suburban streets of South Hills, plumbing issues don't follow a schedule. When a kitchen sink refuses to drain or a basement floor drain starts backing up after a heavy West Virginia rain, you don't have time to call a dozen different companies only to be told they’re booked solid for the week.
That’s where our specialized service comes in. We take the guesswork out of finding reliable help in the Mountain State's capital. We monitor a network of 13 certified local plumbers across Kanawha County, filtering them specifically by your zip code. Most importantly, we don't just give you a list; we actually call the plumber to verify they are available right now to fix your specific drain problem. Whether you're near the Capitol Complex or tucked away in Kanawha City, we ensure a verified expert is on the way.
Common Drain Issues in Charleston, West Virginia
Historic Pipe Scaling: Many of Charleston’s older homes, especially in the historic districts, still feature original cast iron or clay pipes. Over decades, mineral deposits and rust scale build up inside these lines, snagging debris and leading to chronic slow drains that standard chemicals simply can't fix.
River Valley Root Intrusion: Living in the lush Kanawha River Valley means plenty of beautiful trees, but their roots are constantly seeking moisture. These roots often find their way into tiny cracks in sewer lines, causing massive blockages that require professional snaking or hydro-jetting to clear safely.
Hillside Drainage Issues: With Charleston’s unique hilly topography, gravity-fed sewer systems can sometimes face pressure issues or 'back-pitching' if the ground shifts. This can lead to recurring clogs in lower-level drains or basements, particularly during the wet spring months when the water table rises.
Hard Water Buildup: The water profile in West Virginia can often lead to calcium and magnesium buildup in your fixtures. In Charleston homes, this 'scale' doesn't just stay in the showerhead; it settles in the traps and pipes, narrowing the passage and making it easier for soap scum and hair to create a stubborn, deep-seated backup.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Charleston, West Virginia
Fall Leaf Prevention: Before the leaves start falling heavily in Kanawha County, ensure your outdoor area drains and gutter downspouts are clear. Debris washed into your yard drains during a late-season storm can lead to sudden basement flooding.
Winter Pipe Protection: Charleston winters can see deep freezes. If you have pipes running through unheated crawlspaces, ensure they are properly insulated. A frozen pipe that cracks can lead to a massive drainage mess once it thaws in the spring.
Spring Thaw Inspection: After the snow melts and the spring rains hit the Kanawha River, check your sump pump and basement floor drains. High water levels in the valley can put extra stress on your home’s internal drainage system.
Summer Grease Awareness: With summer cookouts being a staple of West Virginia life, remember never to pour fats, oils, or grease down your Charleston kitchen sink. These substances solidify in the cool underground pipes, leading to emergency calls during your weekend celebrations.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Charleston, West Virginia
Prices in Charleston typically range from $125 for a basic snake service to $450+ for advanced hydro-jetting or main sewer line clearing, depending on the severity and location of the clog.
Frequently Asked Questions about Drain Cleaning in Charleston, West Virginia
How fast can I get a drain cleaner in Charleston?
With our unique verification service, we often find a plumber available for same-day service in Charleston zip codes like 25301, 25314, or 25302. By calling them for you, we eliminate the wait time of searching manually.
Do Charleston plumbers offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes, several pros in the Kanawha Valley offer 24-hour service for urgent backups. We specifically filter for these 'after-hours' experts and call them to ensure they can head to your location immediately.
What is the most common cause of clogs in Charleston homes?
Given the age of many local neighborhoods, tree root intrusion and mineral scale buildup in old cast iron pipes are the most frequent culprits we see in West Virginia's capital city.
Is hydro-jetting safe for older Charleston plumbing?
It depends on the pipe's integrity. A certified Charleston plumber will usually perform a camera inspection first to ensure your historic pipes can handle high-pressure water before proceeding.
Why use your service instead of a local directory?
Standard directories are often outdated. We provide real-time availability by actually calling the plumbers in our Charleston network to confirm they have an open slot to reach your home today.
