Top Rated Plumbers in Lewiston, Maine
Able Power Rooter
36 S Lisbon Rd, Lewiston, ME 04240, USA
(207) 782-4708I cannot say enough positive things about this company. Zoom drain was trying to convince us that we had to redo our entire septic line. Able Rooter came out and scoped my line. They fixed the issue and saved me from being scammed. They are honest people and I definitely recommend them.
5 months agoI would highly recommend ! Very professional called as the were on the way. Did an excellent job. When my drain clogged and was backing up into my basement. It's nice to have a company such as this one to help. The price charged was very fair and reasonable.
4 months agoI have already given your tel# to a couple of my friends. The workers were here this morning and they were awesome ! I watched as they worked on a really clogged pipe. I recommend them 100 percent. Chris is the one who did the work here in my house. I will ask for him only if we need help again. Ask for Chris You won't regret it. This company is fantastic!
4 months agoActnow GC, Inc.
517 Main St #3146, Oxford, ME 04270, USA
(207) 539-4872This is the 6th time I have used this service! Mike and Roscoe were wonderful! I took them less than an hour to declog my septic output pipe of roots!! They also pointed out a few other issues they will be coming back to fix! Even though they have not been here in 10 years the price barely increased and I got a senior discount! Thank you for your great service!!❤️
4 months agoI called Actnow to unclog a drain in a rental property. The came out briefly and unclogged some of the drains. I called them back as the issue persisted a second time. The third time I called them because there was standing water on top of one of the drains which made it impossible to clean the water up. His worker found a piece of metal stuck in the drain that hadn't been discovered the first 2 times they had been there. The owner met me there and yelled at me immediately telling me i told him the whole sysytem was backed up whcih i didnt. He called me a tough guy and pulled his guys off the job. I had another company come out and that checked everything with a camera and found a clog on the outside of the house. Which was frustrating because Actnow had been there several times. The owner has anger problems that he should deal with rather then blaming the customer for his company's lack of professionalism.
1 week agoI am completely unhappy and unsatisfied with the situation. They came in the three of them were there For 20 minutes. Only one of them worked well I watched two of them just being there because there was nothing for them to do. I get charged 280 For 20 minutes of real work And I obviously have paid for three people to do a one-person job. The men were nice but that's not what I'm paying for I'm paying for the job to get done. It is an excessive amount of money To have somebody unclog Your water drain It is absolutely mind-boggling the amount of money I was charged For 20 minutes of work
4 months agoPro Stream Plumbing and Heating LLC
39 School House Rd, Oxford, ME 04270, USA
(207) 890-4226We used Pro Stream for the plumbing and radiant heat in our new home. Super nice, friendly crew, great service and communication. The cost for this job was very fair. They came and did all the rough-in work quickly so we could get our slab poured and start building. They were available during construction as needed, and just came and did all the finish work. Highly recommend!
8 months agoI called on a Friday he came the next day. He came prepared! He said we could put money into replacing parts but it is an older toilet. I asked what the turn around time would be to install a new one. He said I brought one. Highly recommend
9 months agoWe have used prostream plumbing and heating for a boiler swap out for our rental property. We’ve also used them for a full house renovation- we had excellent service and would highly recommend using them.
2 months agoBeal Plumbing & Heating, LLC
794 Riverside Dr, Auburn, ME 04210, USA
(207) 241-7478My water heater sprung a serious leak in the store. Beal was the third plumber I called. My usual plumber and another one couldn't help me. Beal was there in 1.5 hours. They stopped the leak and pulled out the old heater. They were there the next morning and installed a new heater, also fixing some of the wacky plumbing work that was under the sink. It cost more than i expected but what doesn't these days. Jessica in the office and the plumbers that came out were all great to work with. I highly recommend them if you are ever in the need!
4 months agoI recently had a new water heater installed by Beal Plumbing & Heating, LLC and couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. From start to finish, the team was professional, courteous, and efficient. The plumbers arrived on time, worked neatly, and took great care to leave everything clean when the job was done. They patiently and clearly explained the installation process and even walked me through how the water heater works, which I really appreciated. The office manager was equally impressive—friendly, helpful, and always ready to answer my questions. It’s rare to find a company that combines excellent workmanship with such great customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services!
8 months agoBeal Plumbing and Heating installed our radiant floor system in our new addition, our bathroom plumbing, a new water softener system and a on-demand hot water system. We absolutely love their work and would hire them back next time, no doubt!

(207) 536-9608Sharp, professional, and quality. Dog House has been great. Since day 1, they are easy to talk to and work with. Every interaction with them seems to be top notch. Our tech (Hannah) was excellent. She's very professional and did a great job explaining her work and reviewing recommendations. Turn to Dog House if you want TRUST and VALUE with your home heating or water systems.
3 months agoI recently worked with Doghouse Plumbing for a water heater disconnect and reconnect, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. 1 week agoI have had multiple great experiences with technicians from Dog House. Today I had a problem with my furnace that left my house cold, and Carson and Cole came on an after-hours call and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and took care of the problem while answering all my questions and helping me feel at ease. I highly recommend Dog House and give Carson and Cole high marks for doing a great job!
3 months agoPete the Plumber
8 Tidswell Rd, Turner, ME 04282, USA
(207) 225-3737I’ve known them for 20+ years. Small family owned company that’s been plumbing for a long time. Good local people. I recommend them to my clients when an issue comes up and I’m sure they can help you with yours!
6 months agoOne of your trucks passed me on 108 doing 70 in a 55. Very unprofessional, not to mention they didn't even use a blinker. Thats all… do better … set an example for others
8 months agoHe had two employees put in a new shower for me a few years ago. The shower is flexible in the middle and allows water to slip in the cracks on the gap between it and the floor. He told me if it got worse he'd repair it. It got worse and now he no longer responds to my calls. Maine has an implied warranty so I'll be going to the attorney general if he keeps dodging my calls.
1 year agoTurnbull Plumbing
14 Main St, Brunswick, ME 04011, USA
(207) 443-3604Jake went above and beyond to find the cottage after a GPS snafu on a Friday afternoon before Memorial Day. Thanks to him and the scheduling woman who fit me in because he had another service call in the area I now have hot water!
3 weeks agoAfter reading through the reviews, I see that I'm not alone in my sentiments and experience. Although Turnbull seems to be highly regarded in the community for the quality of their work, they are sorely lacking in professionalism and customer service. I called just after noontime on 6/17 and a woman answered the call. I briefly explained what I needed help with and when she responded, she seemed to regret answering the call, telling me she was out doing errands (bank and post office) and saying that the only reason she answered was because she thought I was a customer they were servicing that day. I asked her if it would be helpful if I called back in a half hour or so, to give her time to finish her errands and return to the office and she said it would. GREAT! I called back just after 1PM, giving her extra time to get back to the office and settle back in, and no one answered the phone. I left a message, mentioning my name, phone number, plumbing issue I needed help with and the fact that we had spoken earlier. I received no return call. I waited a couple of days before calling again and left another message. As of today, 7/1, I have not received a call back but did, thankfully, find a super responsive plumber (RD Crockett) who will be helping with my issue. Avoid Turnbull. Apparently they don't need our business. 👎🏼
11 months agoExcellent service, reasonable prices. Jake from Turnbull did a great job for us, again. His work is impeccable and fast, and best of all he has proved himself to be himself to be someone we can absolutely trust. That is a huge asset--whatever he says we need, I know we need. We are very very pleased with his company and would never use anybody else.

We don't just provide a list; we filter by your specific zip code and personally call the technicians to ensure they have the equipment and the time to handle your drainage emergency right now. From kitchen sinks to main sewer lines, we connect you with the help you need without the wait.
Common Drain Issues in Lewiston, Maine
Aging Infrastructure: Many of Lewiston’s historic homes still feature original cast iron or clay pipes. Over the decades, these materials can corrode or shift, leading to rough interior surfaces that catch debris and cause frequent, stubborn blockages.
Tree Root Intrusion: With Lewiston's lush landscape and proximity to the river, tree roots are a major culprit for sewer line issues. These roots seek out moisture in your pipes, creating dense mats that can lead to full-scale backups if not addressed by a professional.
Cold-Weather Grease Buildup: During Maine's long winters, pipes stay significantly colder. This causes fats, oils, and grease poured down the sink to solidify much faster than they would in warmer climates, creating thick 'fatbergs' in Lewiston kitchen drains.
Basement Floor Drain Backups: With the heavy snowmelt and spring rains typical of Androscoggin County, basement floor drains often take a beating. If these drains are clogged with sediment or debris, you risk basement flooding during the seasonal thaw.
Seasonal Drain Maintenance Tips for Lewiston, Maine
Spring Thaw Maintenance: As the ground thaws in Lewiston, check your exterior drainage points. Ensure that melting snow and spring rain can flow freely away from your foundation to prevent basement drain backups.
Summer Disposal Care: With local Maine produce in full swing, be careful what goes down your garbage disposal. Fibrous scraps like corn husks or rhubarb can easily tangle and clog your kitchen sink during summer prep.
Fall Leaf Clearance: Before the first snow flies, clear all leaves and debris from outdoor area drains and gutter downspouts. This prevents organic matter from washing into your pipes and freezing into a solid block during November.
Winter Pipe Protection: In sub-zero Lewiston temperatures, even a minor drain clog can facilitate a frozen pipe. Ensure heat reaches your basement and crawl spaces, and never leave a slow drain unaddressed before a cold snap.
Average Drain Cleaning Costs in Lewiston, Maine
Pricing in Lewiston is based on the complexity of the clog. A standard sink or toilet snake typically costs less, while high-pressure hydro-jetting or main sewer line clearing involving root removal falls at the higher end of the range.
